Our flight was quite delayed but the driver from the hotel still waited to pick us up from the airport.Very welcoming staff, great breakfast and clean rooms. There was also the option to do currency exchange at reception which was an added bonus. Enjoyed our stay at Apsara!
Do check out her rooftop so as to have a better city view of Kamanthdu valley........ similar street pattern from where I come from......get lost in couple of aisles. All well maintained and clean. So happy to have the proper museli at the bfast butter table.......thank you! Luckily to have a quite nite as away from main road and no party or disco nearby.........dewali festival?
I booked a room with balcony and had pay a hefty price for it. End up, the room with balcony was taken and i had to clearified with hotel staff that i already paid for it. Booked this thu expedia. I felt cheated. Took a while for an answer from hotel reception staff. In the end they apologised for giving me the wrong room for 1 day. Told me that it was a misunderstanding. Gave me free dinner for 1 day and was move to the balcony room the next 3 days. The room need to be re-painted. It was a shared balcony with hotel staffs and no privacy at all. This hotel is very hard to find. It is at the back end of Thamel, near to tourist bus pickup station. (5 mins walk) from this hotel. I got lost twice, asked the locals for directions many times. But not many knows this location.
I arrived to Kathamndu and the hotel driver picked me up and brought to hotel. I was nicely greeted in the reception and I got a small cup of drink. Hotel workers organized for me taxi to my next destination, helped me with orientation in the city and explained to me how to use electrical plug. It was funny that I was not aware of that thing as I am from Europe. I liked the hotel room, restaurant and a hall. I think it's quite popular hotel cause another time I tried to stay in it was fully booked. So my opinion is : recommended :) I haven't seen the roof top so I will come back definitely and have a dinner there :)
I stayed in Apsara for four nights. It is a nice place with friendly staff and a good location in Thamel. Before my arrival I sent the hotel a couple of emails, and received no answer. Only after I contacted booking.com did the hotel respond. The pictures of the garden restaurant and the rooftop terrace are doctored. See my pictures below.
☹️ it was a horrific experience, paint of walls was coming out, too many mosquitos, dirty towels.. for the price and pictures they show it is a complete disappointment. Staff was kind however, that is not all you look for on a vacay!
Staff members extremely nice and pleasant to deal with. Rooms are okay. Not like pictured. Had an issue with the bathroom shower leaking large amount of water out of the shower onto the floor, also pointed out a mold issue all over the ceiling and that it’s a health hazard.. nothing was done about the issue during my stay. Slightly puzzled but maybe they didn’t take is seriously or realize that it’s a serious problem. The water in general was a orange/light brown color and foul smelling. Very concerned about that but again when asking, it seemed no one was concerned. So I used bottled water for everything possible. Location was good, close to lots of shops/restaurants/bars. Restaurant on site also served decent food, maybe forego mixed drinks, not sure the bartender was trained properly, but hard to be upset due to the staff being incredibly nice.
We absolutely loved!!! this hotel! They welcomed us & had us checked in and comfortable quickly after a long few days of travel. The hotel is beautiful & clean! The door man is so sweet and helpful. The staff was friendly and the food is amazing!
The staff is really friendly and helpful and the rooms are comfortable, with complimentary water, fruits etc. They were happy to store our suitcases at the hotel for two weeks which was great. The breakfast could be better though.
