Good location & convenient

We arrived at the hotel around 7pm and check in was an easy process. Slightly annoyed that the room we wanted to choose was shown as available on their screen however it was rebooked for an additional by current guess. The room itself was clean and bed was comfortable. Our kettle was broken and reception replaced it right away. We asked for additional pillows and they were delivered immediately. Customer service was great and very helpful. We asked about the air conditioning in the room as it was freezing and hoovering around 19.5 degrees Celsius. When we asked if the temperature can be adjusted to heating, We were told that function wasn't available. Ended up turning off the A/C as the room was getting way too cold for a good nights sleep. Location is good, same distance walking to Central Park or Formosa Blvd MRT. Bus stop nearby as well if you wish to use that instead. Overall experience at The Icon was good and would stay there again if we return to Kaoshiung.

Nearest subway was Central Park exit 3 & it’s about 8-10 mins walk to the hotel. Room was spacious & good for 2 persons if you have large luggage. Breakfast was good too. Downsides were room was not brightly lit up, used drinking mugs were not washed during housekeeping, & bedsheet together with blanket comforter were tucked in together under the mattress but this also cause loosen bedsheet when the comforter is being pull out. Overall of stay was pleasant & will give a rating of 7/10. Thank you

We (family of 4 incl 2 young adult kids) stayed for 5 days in mid December. We found everything in the hotel was just to our liking. The room, on the 7th floor, had a view of the hugest Elementary School I have ever seen (with a dome on top!) and a distant view of the "85" building. The room had 2 king-size beds and plenty of room for luggage etc. The bathroom was excellent with an overhead and a spray shower, and a tub. The breakfast was just the right amount with even a vegetarian choice if requested, and hot soup was offered which you could go back for seconds (or thirds!) if you like. Also, plenty of tea/coffee and some type of jelly. All the staff spoke English and were very friendly and helpful. For anyone going to Icon, I would recommend getting a metro train to Central Park station as the 5 minute walk from there is far more convenient than the obstacle course (with suitcases) of sidewalk restaurants, scooters, cars etc if you walk from Formosa Blvd station. It's very easy to find being on the very corner of Minsheng 1st Road (the wide 2-way boulevard with a "garden" running down the centre) exactly opposite the huge Elementary school. But you need to look carefully, because the Icon logo/name is not so easy to spot. Overall, it was an excellent choice of hotel.

Embrace this quirky hotel. The variety of the rooms was great with a picture of each room available. You get to select the type room you want upon check-in. My room was comfy with a massive bed. Service was good with English spoken. Bicycles available for free but close to trains too. No buffet for breakfast but the included breakfast was generous & delicious.

Hotel is great but the distance isn’t...

We stayed in the premier room for 4, it is very spacious, and with a big square bathtub! We loved the bathtub the most! Rooms all comes with a theme, it doesn’t really matter whichever room we took. The only problem with this hotel was the distance from both train stations. Going in June, it is really hot for us to walk under the hot sun from either Central Park/Formosa Boulevard station. Staffs are all friendly, aided us in many ways too. Will come back again during Kaoshiung’s cooler period... Tip : Exit Formosa Boulevard station and walk towards the orange line exit during the day as it is mostly sheltered from this station. We exited from Central Park station on our first day and regretted tugging our luggages without any shelter. A simple 10minute walk from this station was so exhausting for us under the hot blazing sun, we even got a bit sunburnt. After then, we only exited from Central Park station at night when the sun sets. No doubt Central Park station is nearer but if you want a non sheltered way, by all means take to Central Park.

Clean, comfortable, and great value for money

The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff were great. The breakfast could have been better, it's a set offering every day and we'd have been happier with the option of just some toast or fruit to help yourself to. Other then that everything was fine,the hotel was quiet and we had a great stay.
