Any time I come to this city i stay in this hotel. Price is ok and quality is pretty good. People is available and efficient in trying to soddisfy any your request. Many shop all around. A good place to stay for a few days.
This is my second stay at Grand Hi Lai. Everything is on par compared to my first stay. Once you arrived at the door step of this hotel, you will be well taken care by the hotel staffs. Starting with the porter, concierge, front desk, housekeeping till breakfast servers. I get upgraded to Executive floor and the minibar was included. The room is spacious and clean. Bed is comfortable and amenities are well replaced daily. The hotel is next to Hanshin mall. Which is conveniently looking for food and shopping. Off course, there are a lot of restaurants within walking distance too if you are willing to explore. All in all, everything is close to perfect except the following - 1. Only one universal socket available in my room. Nowadays, we need more sockets to charge multiple gadgets. 2. The choices of breakfast food are similar everyday. This looks boring especially for travelers who stay for long period of time. 3. Breakfast area is kind of "busy" and chaotic. Breakfast reception staffs were unfriendly and rude especially requesting room card from guest to verify the breakfast validity. I expect a great service hotel should ask the guest to scan the room key themselves instead of asking the card from the guest and confirm then return to the guest. I feel insulted especially the staffs requesting the room key was impolite.
we had a stop there during our round trip and we felt that we haven`t belong there and were not really welcome. This is a really good business hotel and we have seen more business people than others. The breafast buffet was excellent but very stressy and busy. If you want to move to the restaurant or lobby or breakfast you always need to change elevators. Very expensive mini-bar
This hotel looks old inside but very promising with every aspect. Stayed for 4 nights. Huge rooms; superior rooms are big enough to accommodate 5 people. There are two king size beds and a sofa. There is one space in the room looks like a smoking area but never tried. Breakfast is perfect with lots of good options. Room view with harbor recommended. I will definately stay at this amazing hotel again. Room entertainment very convenient. Highly recommended!!
I have stayed at this hotel several times, I am here again on my latest business trip for 10 days and I can only say the Hotel never disappoints, it simply is the best hotel in Kaohsiung. The general build standard and hotel fit out is stunning , the rooms are decorated and furnished extremely well, there is an excellent choice of food available at the many restaurants within the hotel, I highly recommend you try the Teppanyaki food, what an experience, cooked fresh in from of you by a selection of highly trained Chefs. As for the staff, they are highly trained and extremely efficient, but more than that they are superbly friendly , absolutely nothing is too much trouble, they totally aim to please and make your stay a brilliant experience. Well done to Ted Lin and his team, my visits to the island are made all the more pleasant by my visits to this hotel.
The hotel is well situated in the heart of the shopping district. Has very big and classic rooms, good service. I had stayed on the bay side view so it is recommended to get it as the view is fantastic. Breakfast is on the 43 floor and is with a nice variety of items but for me as a western guest it was lacking good cheese, cold cuts and bread which were not enough and not hi quality. Overall the stay was very good, room was excellent, area is very good so you can easily walk around for shopping or eating.
This was a very short business trip so I cannot say too much for the hotel as I was not there long at all, but the staff at check in and out were fab, the room was very comfy and the room service meal came quickly and was nice.
Hotel is nicely located and it is convenient for business. Rooms are big and clean as big are the common spaces. Restaurant is ok. Common for all is that style and decor is a bit old fashioned and would need a refreshment.
A true old-school 5 star hotel. Beautifully decorated spacious rooms, great service, solid breakfast, nice lobby bar with a band, pastry store and supermarket next door. Ask for harbour view rooms. Have a nice stay!
It's a very good hotel. It has this 'posh' atmosphere which I am not a massive fan of, but of course prefer to some shabby place. I call this hotel 'the chandelier' and 'the piano in the lobby' type of hotel. Overall, the service is very good, the rooms are nice and big, comfortable and clean. There's a mall underneath the rooms, so it's convenient if you want to grab some food and shop. Brilliant breakfast
