This is my second stay thru Cathay Pacific holiday (last stay in Nov 2016). Frankly, I selected again mostly because of the nice room and the good location. We arrived before noon on Saturday and asked for early check in if possible. And got a room by 2.30 pm , normal check in time is 3. Disappointed when we stepped in the y The next day, we got changed to another room, bigger and with three chairs, but one of them has a loosened armrest, let alone dust found quite easily on furniture. Housekeeping to be improved! Anyway, we thought we settled down. 3rd day: returning after lunch to find the wifi was not working. Was told their engineer was trying to sort it out. But nothing happened. So requested to change room again which actually not what I like if don't have to. IWith the help of Miss Kelly, we got a room in tower 2. We got a lovely room on the last night of our stay. And that was the same type of room we stayed last time in Nov. Here is what we don't understand. We purchased the same package thru Cathay, deluxe room, as in Nov. And not sure if we were put in the proper type of room inthe first 2 nights. Being misled? Not a very happy experience this time. But I commend Miss Kelly in the front desk who tried best to make my stay happier. Thank you Miss Kelly.
Good hotel with good service. Location reasonably good about 10 mins walk from mrt. Centrally located in kaoshiong. Recommended for couples and families or people who drives. Breakfast is not very good unfortunately.
Large hotel with good size rooms and king size bed. Very comfortable. Located close to the river and 2 stops on the metro from city centre and night markets. Breakfast ok. Plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby.
10min walk from nearest metro. It's located near FE21. SOGO. 7/11 lobby service is great. Room quality too. Their toilet bowl has the automatic washing system. The room is wide with great scenery. Highly recommended.
Pro: Friendly staff, clean and spacious room. A huge gym, provide washing machine and dryer(FOC) at level 17. Bus 205 just in front of hotel that able to reach Koashiung Public Library, Ikea, Carrefour and Dream Mall. A small night market and morning market just round the corner. Walking distant to Mrt Sanduo shopping district, Sogo and FE21 Mega Mall . Cons: The water heater was too hot even adjusted to the lowest. The step from bathroom to bedroom is a bit high, not every staff in the hotel able to speak English. Directions:- take Mrt to Sanduo Shopping District (Red line R8). Use Exit 1 to 85 Sky Tower. Contiune to walk pass the open parking space. Sogo is on your right. Turn left go towards Steak House Pai Pai zan. There is a 7-11 same row with the steak House at the end. Sunshine Hotel is diagonal opposite 7-11 and same row with Bank of Taiwan.
My family of 3 stayed in room 1601 on 25 Nov 2016 for 3 nights booked through Booking.com which gave us a better rate with free breakfast than direct with the hotel online. We arrived around 2pm but couldn't check-in so we left our luggage there and went shopping nearby. The location is quite good, less than 10 mins walk from the MRT station and the shopping malls are just around the station. To walk from the MRT station to the hotel, look out for Exit 1- 85 Sky Tower, turn left at the exit and walk straight till you see a 7 Eleven at the corner of a cross junction, then cross the roads which you will be diagonally opposite the 7 Eleven, then walk straight to the end and you will arrive at the hotel. The room is considered large with big bathroom but it's dated. The bathroom got very wet each time after bath as the shower was in the bath tub. The room's carpet felt dirty but bedroom slippers were provided. There's free wifi but quite slow. Breakfast selection was limited but tasted ok as we are not fussy. Overall, the location is the plus point for this hotel.
We reached the hotel at about 8pm. Staff was unfriendly. They called us at 10:30am and reminded us the check out timing was 11am and we requested a slightly late checkout because we are very tired after traveling and arrived late at the hotel.
We stayed in this hotel what a great hotel plenty of room , has large rooms ,clean ,plenty of room for your luggage, free Wi Fi ,good location, close to restaurants, transport , large shower with jet spray , large TV , good bed and great breakfast restaurants
In December 2016, I stayed at Hotel Sunshine wife my wife at teenage children for three nights as part of a family vacation. Hotel Sunshine is easy to reach from Kaohsiung International Airport. We traveled by subway from the airport. The subway only cost $100 Taiwanese Dollars ($3.13 US Dollars) for the four of us. As someone who is used to traveling in Japan, this seemed surprisingly cheap. The subway trip only took about 15 to 20 minutes. Hotel Sunshine is a 5 to 10 minute walk from the Sanduo Shopping District subway station and close to shopping and many restaurants along the way. The front desk staff were very nice and could speak both English and Japanese. The front desk was able to exchange foreign currency. The hotel seemed modern. My room was spacious in comparison to Japanese hotels and had a very nice western bathroom. The bathroom had a shower, but no bathtub. The room had free Wi-Fi (easy to connect and OK speeds), free coffee maker with instant tea and coffee. The room also had a small refrigerator. The room's TV had lots of Japanese and English cable TV channels to choose from. The room was very quit considering the hotel is next to a busy street. Superficially the room was modern and nice, but upon closer inspection the room was beginning to become a bit run down; nothing that continual maintenance won't solve. The refrigerator did not work, the toilet often wouldn't flush, there were scuff marks on the walls, and my wife complained the room smell like old sweaty shoes. The hallways were dark. Apparently in an attempt to save money on electricity, the hotel does not keep the hallway lights on unless someone is actually walking around in the hallways. Whenever I stepped out of my room or off the elevator the hallway was dark (see attached photos) until I passed a motion sensor, The free breakfast buffet was GREAT and makes up for any complaints I have about this hotel. The free breakfast buffet was an entire floor and there was plenty of seating. Some of the items on the free breakfast buffet were: french fries, gyoza, yaki udon, congee, miso soup, tofu, waffles, bread, toast, juice, coffee from a machine that make espresso and cappuccino, tea, and fruit and salad bar.
Metro station and a very new big mall are in walking distance. Massage places, night markets are within 7-10 minutes if you take taxi, about US$6-7.00. Friendly and kind employees. Free WIF is available.usoing metro to go lots of different sightseeing places.
