About this property

Peaceful bunkhouse getaway on quiet farm in KCMO

We converted a 100-year-old farm building into a very cozy private getaway studio apartment in 2023. You will have the entire 600 square foot open plan bunkhouse to yourself.

There's a full kitchen with granite counters, a full-sized refrigerator, a microwave, coffee maker and an air fryer in the brand new induction oven. The open floor plan has a cute bistro style table for four next to the kitchen and two comfy recliner chairs on the opposite corner. You have a separate bathroom with a shower and built in seat for relaxing.

In the open plan studio, there are three beds: a twin over king size bunk plus a full size bed next to the bunk. All walls and bunkbed frames are custom made from 100-year-old barn wood. The ceiling is also vintage and is rusted metal with beautiful patina colors of red, silver and gray.

Feel free to walk the 20 acres of the property and sit by the beautiful one acre pond and listen to the frogs in the summertime evenings or relax by a bonfire if you choose. Great place for a meditative experience or simply to get away from city life.

This is a unique experience and we welcome you with open arms.

Note: This is an active farm, so there will be other humans working and living on the land. Yes, it's very quiet and peaceful, but also yes, there are about seven other people (plus two large dogs) in and around the farm on a regular basis.
For entertainment, guests can enjoy Smart TVs. Kitchens, washing machines, and refrigerators are other standard amenities.

Be Free Family Farm

Jen and Scott were both so kind and accommodating for our stay at the bunkhouse. The place was very clean, equipped with everything we needed, and absolutely gorgeous. The property was also beautiful and provided a relaxing atmosphere for the entirety of our stay. I would gladly recommend this place to anyone!

Absolutely perfect!

The property was gorgeous, the bunk was well stocked and very comfortable. The pond was a huge hit with my group, and even though it rained we really got to enjoy the land. Jennifer and her family were so sweet, they even started the bonfire for us! I definitely plan to come back and would 100% recommend!

Perfection

This property is well kept and suited our needs exactly. My husband and I stayed for a long weekend with our dogs and all of us loved the charming property. The hosts were great, the check in process could have been a bit more clear upon arrival but we figured it out. When we pulled in the temp was at 104 and we walked into the bunkhouse to find that the hosts had cranked up the AC for us and the well cooled space was very much appreciated! I absolutely recommend this property and would not heaitate to return!

AMAZING & BEAUTIFUL

This place is the absolute best when looking for a small getaway. It's so quiet and comfy. The hosts are such nice and sweet people. My only gripe would be.... They lingered too long at check-in. We had to essentially instruct the husband to leave. He lingered in the house while we were getting situated. When we got back to the cabin, we started a beautiful bonfire (bring your own wood) and Jennifer came out and stood out there for a good 30-45 minutes. When we go on vacation, it is to get away from people. Hosts are supposed to just supply a great experience and a place to stay... not be part of your trip. DO NOT let this stop you from staying here. It is amazing! Just make sure you let them know you aren't very social. After-all this is YOUR vacation. All in all, I would stay here again!! I was the first ever renters and so with that being said; they were the best!!! It's a learning process.
