As group of eleven, we traveled to Kalgoorlie by rail on the Prospector. After a mix up with our first booking, we ended up changing the date of our visit. But on arrival were more than happy with the friendly, helpful staff. We had six rooms. Our room was well appointed and the bed very comfortable (room No 52) had a king single, a queen and a trundle bed. It had a spa, as well as a shower. Tea /coffee making facilities, a fridge/mini bar, iron and ironing broad, there is also a guest laundry (coin operated) Breakfast was included in the tariff, it was good, the usual cooked bacon and eggs, cereals, fruit and yogurt, muffins, toast, juice, tea/coffee. The evening meals were very good and plentiful the menu varied. Our only concern during our stay was the swimming pool, the tiles around the pool are very slippery, there are no hand rails near the entry steps into the pool and the steps are rather deep. One of our companions was injured trying to get out. The staff once again were most helpful, calling an ambulance and showing great concern. Another member of our group slipped and fell heavily, but fortunately didn't need medical attention. We all enjoyed our stay, and would be happy to stay again.

The Quality Inn was great. Comfortable bed, good food. However it advertised a pool and the pool was not open as apparently the council had not deemed the weather warm enough. The weather was hot 27 to 32 degrees C and we were disappointed in having no pool. However it drove us to find the public recreation centre which was open and excellent.

For the most reasonable cost, four of us had the best location, the best service, the most friendly staff and a top breakfast. When we needed a tissue, there they were. When we needed a wine glass, there they were. When we needed to contact the reception, there they were. So essentially what I'm saying is that it was 'home from home' in the most comfortable of terms.

I travelled to Kalgoorlie by train and stayed at the Quality Inn Railway Hotel , it was a perfect location when arriving late at night, directly across from the station. The rooms were clean and tidy and the staff were helpful on arrival.

This property is opposite the station and the rooms are very clean and large. The breakfast buffet is very adequate and most of all the meal is all nice and hot plus replenished regularly. I would have no hesitation in referring people to this motel plus would be my choice of stay again in Kalgoorlie. We done to all the staff from reception, Chef and cleaning staff.

I went to Kalgoorlie Boulder on business and stayed at the Railway Hotel as everything else was booked. As my reason was business sleep was a priority. The room was very sad. I didn’t even attempt to sit on what may have been chairs once, but were now sad, dirty and severely cracked vinyl ‘things’ taking up space. I thought ‘that’s okay I’ll sit at the desk and log onto the internet to do some work’. Unfortunately I was being presumptions. Internet, or the myth of being able to log on to it, is a dream. The girl at the front desk reinforced this when I enquired in a very curt ‘who cares anyway’ sort of way. Now, I’m only a small person and was sincerely grateful for this when faced with the bathroom. Even the hotel builders had to position the bathroom basin outside of the bathroom in the kitchenette area. The shower pressure is to be commended as a redeeming feature. I had a room on the first floor. If I could recommend anything – stay on the second floor. There is no insulation between the floors. I was kept awake all night, every night, for the three nights I stayed there, fully informed of every movement and sound that the person in the room above made. I felt, at two o’clock in the morning, that this was far too much information. I’m happy to make do with a tiny bathroom and strange, very used furniture along with almost non-existent Wi-Fi, but I would have liked to have had some sleep.

Well located if you are travelling by train; just across the road from the railway station (although some shunting noises early morning). The staff are very welocming and helpful with local information. We thought that the continental breakfast at $16.50 p/p was a bit steep for the quality. The room we had was large and well equipped.

Fine for a one night stop over but nothing special. When we stayed we felt like we were staying in mining accommodation...I think we were the only regular tourists there! Pretty clean overall, and well presented. On the way home we decided to stay elsewhere, and stayed at "Cecilia's on Hay", which was way better. Super clean, sparkly rooms and more of the 'special' factor .. and no miners! It was also way better value.

We were a little unsure what to expect from Kalgoorlie and this hotel, but were pleasantly surprised. The apartment was clean and modern and included a free washing machine and dryer. Quite noisy with the other apartments sharing walls and other people walking up and down stairs late at night, but it was tolerable. Would stay again :)

The train trip from Perth was long and it was great to find clean and roomy accommodation. Being able to walk across the road made it even easier. Our breakfast was included in the room rate, which was a plus. Cars are parked outside the rooms, so when the workers leave early one can hear them. Otherwise the rooms are quiet. The beds are comfy. Shower is large with plenty of hot water.
