Great location from the beach to the local area. Loved the hotel, the staff were great, food very good and varied. I loved the fact that slices of bread were placed under the bacon in the turine to absorb excess fat, that was a new one on me and showed the extra length staff were prepaired to go. There were two domestic toasters in the dining room, blis, we had toast and not warm bread. Fantastic fresh strawberries plus ice-cream most meals plus well cooked fried eggs at breakfast . Evening entertainment was a bit week, could have done with more music perhaps a Greek group. Only two toilets on the ground floor one male one female, we decided that they were unisex to avoid queues. Plus they were a distance from the bar. Transport into town was frequent and on time, 1 Euro 30 per trip, great value.

Beds are so basic. The air-condition had to remain closed to manage to sleep because of the terrible noise. Music in the main pool area so loud and we cannot call the police. Also had food in my room and ok... I was expecting more from once the best hotel in the city. I think there many hotels in front nowadays in kalamata even not so blessed with the positioning of filoxenia. Feels like 90s hotel.

stayed here four years in a row asked the familyif they want to go somewhere else this year and they said no very safe for kids no crossing streets to get to beach or pool staff is excellent and friendly food is very good especially breakfast buffet highly recommended

We took my dad, 93, for a weeks holiday early May. The hotel is lovely, but the staff were fantastic! They were friendly, helpful, and couldn't do enough for us! I'd forgotten how brilliant Greece is. It is definitely worth the extra flight time.

Just one night was enough to see the medieval town. The hotel was very good, reception staff very helpful. The room in the attic was great with a big balcony looking straight at the rock, sensational view. Breakfast next door was not great. A local cafe might be better, but the hotel can’t be faulted.

The hotel is well appointed and staff are attentative. Our room was cleaned daily and had all the facilities but decor was dated and some rust was showing on the bathroom fittings (double sink was a nice surprise) The breakfast was varied with lots of choice. Lunch however was a different matter and expensive if you are only there on Bed and Breakfast. Dinner had a small varied menu, however would have expected a lot more variation and upmarket for a hotel pushing for a higher stature. We ate out at various higher end restaurants which offered a lot better choices at more reasonable rates.Hotel has nice facilities and plenty of activities if you are interested.Right on the beach which is pebbles.Bus stops frequently and on time right outside the main gate which runs into the centre of town for shopping, dining , galleries etc. It must up its game for food and service. Drinks are very expensive.

Was here with a group in late october. Found the pebble beach very lovely. the water was still warm. I never tryed the pool. The room was very good and the maintenance service exelent. Our fridge did not work on arrival but we got a new one installed within half an hour. The breakfast vas fairly good. Very good bread but the juice was too watery.

Visited hotel in October with my partner, rude staff in the bar area, rude and arrogant reception, we had the permission to use pool and beach and the bar area but not the sunbeds because we were not residents

I went to the hotel probably with higher expectations than I should due to my past experience at Grecotel. The room although it was big, it needs renovation, like the rest of the facilities. However the location, its garden and its seashore are good and the staff is gentle. I asked for an hour late departure during not that busy period but it was not given to me.

Had two weeks at end of season late September to early October and like most reviews we have to endorse the all round quality of the hotel staff meals etc We had room 234 overlooking the main garden area with the pool and sea to our left as a side sea view (just) Rooms were kept clean by a dedicated staff workforce with linen and towel changes made as required (daily for towels). Reception was helpful when questions were asked. One slight mark against the hotel was the lack of a kettle and tea/coffee in room which is on the website as included but upon request they were both put in the room same day (pity we had been there 4 days before we asked) Breakfast was included and was a buffet style with hot and cold choices and a large variety of options each day to go at We only had one buffet evening meal due to cost and local tavernas being half the price so perhaps the hotel is missing a trick there. Like others have said the drinks were expensive 5.50 euro for a beer or glass of wine where outside at tavernas we could get them for 3 euros for a beer or 1/2 litre of house wine Overall it was a very enjoyable stay and the positives do outweigh the minor negatives so we would be happy to stay there again if we are in that area
