We stayed at this hotel because some of the others nearer the beach looked a bit tired although with higher trip advisor ratings! Achilles is more modern. It turned about to be a neat and clean small hotel with a very decent breakfast including cooked eggs bacon as well as Greek yogurt and crosiants. A nice gentleman and lady were looking after guests with good English. The hotel is only a short 5 min walk to the beach and with it's own parking as well as street parking. Remember Pylos Town and Methoni are both sleepy towns. 2 nights was sufficient to see castles in Pylos and Methoni they only need 45 mins each and a short drive out of Pylos is the beautiful @@Voidokilia Beach@@ which could have been picked up and transported from the Caribean a short drive but ask for directions from the hotel ... you set your GPS for the hamlet of PETROCHORI and take an unsignposted left turn as the road forks entering this town then follow the road all the way to its end turning right over a small hump bridge till you see car parked both sides of the lane. You have arrived at The beach. you can also access GLOSSA beach from this car park to the right walking uo a steep embankment which is naturalist so dont be shocked which is set in a small cove. 1st image Voidokilia.2nd Glossa. Dont forget to bring water as no facilities at the beach but both are perfect.

A very friendly family-run hotel in the centre of Methoni, an easy walk from shops, restaurants and the splendid Venetian castle. Our room was very comfortable, with king size bed, TV, fridge and kettle, free WiFi, a desk and chairs. The modern shower room had plenty of towels and toiletries. Breakfast, served in the spacious cafe/bar with log fire, was substantial. It included bacon and fried eggs, ham and cheese, fresh breads, freshly squeezed orange juice, yogurt & honey, cake, and good coffee with hot milk. We hope to return, it was a great place to stay.

Methoni is a small and charming beach town and the Achilles Hill Hotel (a pun on Achilles Heel?) was one of the very few highlights on a recent trip organized by Langara College and the tour operator Adventures Abroad. While the tour operator's performance overall (horrendous scheduling, low standard for hotels, excruciatingly long bus rides, way overpriced, and ack of customer service) was dismal, this hotel was a port in a storm (forgive the cliche, please). It is modern, clean, and quiet. And NOT spartan. Our room was spacious, the bathroom was large and well laid out. A small balcony gave us a view and fresh air. On the lower level, a small bar and cafe had a nice light menu and breakfast was generous with something for everyone. And the staff! They couldn't do enough for us. I would come back here in a flash (but not as part of a Langara College/Adventures Abroad tour.

We had the luck to stay 2 nights @ this lovely hotel. The owner and his wife were super friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was generously and tastefull, also it was possible to take the breakfast at the terrace. An exemple how itshould be

Immaculate hotel in central location. Lovely owners and staff. Exceptional breakfast. Parking. Fast Wi-Fi. Good bathroom with gushing shower. Nice bars, restaurants and cafes within 300m. Rooms moderately sized. Lacks pool but hotels with pools are often only on edge of town or outside town.

The rooms in the Achilles hotel were very beautiful! Mostly the bathroom! The hosts were very very kind, you only need to ask and they are there for you. Breakfast is delicious! Everything is home made and you have the choice between a healthy and a more hearty breakfast. Thank you Achilles hotel for the very pleasant stay!

We discovered this hotel by chance during our Peloponnese tour. Situated just off the main commercial street of the town , 5' walk from the fantastic castle of Methoni and as well another 7' from the seaside and local tavernas and restaurants . It is recently renovated , very friendly staff , clean in all aspects , a very cared and rich breakfast buffet and all these at a very reasonable price . To add more it is in front of a small square with cafes , a very powerful WiFi in all areas , private parking and modern overall design. Probably one of the best hotels in our 9 days tour .

My wife and I spent one night of our tour of the Peloponnese. The hotel is is recently renovated and is very modern and clean. Service was professional. The hotel is located downtown and is an easy walk to the waterfront. We walked to restaurant Sapienza for a wonderful Greek family meal that was very reasonable cost. We had a good breakfast the next morning at the hotel - full buffet with good coffee. The town of Methoni itself is quaint. I think of all of our stops on our car trip I would say that this town perhaps has less to offer than some other places but nevertheless staying at this hotel and our dinner experience noted above made good memories.

Although the ambience is more business hotel than boutique, this family-run gem would, I imagine, make for a calm base in the frenetic high season. Out of season it was very quiet and welcoming. It's set back a few streets from the sea, so the marine views are distant, but as you're just minutes from the shore this is hardly a criticism. We had no time to sample the lounge or bar but these were very nicely decorated and, when we had to leave too early for breakfast, the proprietor kindly made coffee and cake available.

Was surprised to find such nice upscale boutique hotel in this small town of Methonia. An attentive hotel staff, strong free wifi, beautiful accommodations and a short walking distance to the famous Methonia Castle and beautiful sea with nearby restaurants galore. While the outdoor hotel entrance doesn't look impressive, indoors is a very different story! Nicely done interior decor in rooms, balcony views and great lobby area are a nice touch.
