Sonora Days Inn Devil's River2.0 out of 5.0

facility is old and needs a lot of renovation or torn down. mold in the bathroom with broken floor tile, shower curtain rod ready to come down, filthy worn carpet, cigarette burns in the bedspreads in a non smoking room and just plain dirty. and no breakfast available at motel, sent to next door cafe.
This is a great place to stay on business. Breakfast was at the steak house next door and was very nice. The bed was comfortable and the staff was great. I will definitely stay there again.
We have stayed at two of Sonora's hotels, eaten at two restaurants, and stopped to get gas and road munchies and we both have come away totally disappointed. It seems everyone HATES their jobs and has no clue of the meaning of customer service. Oh yeah, worst night sleep in years and I'm a insomnia. (Severe sarcasm)
I stayed here before and was pretty happy. This time the room and bathroom could have been cleaner and some of the perks like the coffee items where missing. No rack to put suitcase on.
This is the 2nd time we've visited the Days Inn Sonora. Last time was nearly 4 years ago. It's convenient to points west for us when we want to take advantage of getting a head start late in the day getting out of San Antonio. This is a 2-star hotel with 4-star aspirations. For a typical strip hotel, the quality was definitely atypical. The bathroom door was perfectly hung. I say this, because it is uncommon in older structures to find doors on small bathrooms that aren't sprung, or so painted over that they don't close correctly. It had clearance all the way around and was easy to close and operated perfectly. I can't remember the last time this was true on the bathroom door of small hotel. The breakfast setting was about the best possible for a complimentary breakfast, because it was given through vouchers at the front desk and served in the adjacent steak restaurant, which has a charming and earthy Texas-brand of Western décor. There are only three meal choices for the complimentary breakfast (eggs or pancakes or biscuits&gravy, if I recall correctly). They were clearly understaffed for the 4-day 4th of July weekend, but I had two eggs, over easy, with bacon and toast, and the meal was perfect despite the wait. I also had a small tomato juice. We only stayed one night this trip, as we were headed to Big Bend which is a long drive, but this Days Inn is one of our favorites. Our top votes go to this one and the one in Jellico, TN. We will be back.
I was driving from Beaumont to Las Cruces, and pulled over at this place around midnight. It’s inexpensive and convenient. What else can you want in Sonora, Texas? The pool looked fine. And the room came with a free breakfast at the restaurant next door, which was pretty decent. I wouldn’t go out of my way to stay there, but… you know.
Wi-Fi did not work what so ever & the television...oh my goodness, it was great static. Which I totally preferred rather than watching the actual show.
I stay here all the time. The front desk staff are very polite. The rooms are average, but always clean. This location used to give 500 xtra rewards points when booking on line. Ow the area went up and the points disappeared.
Truck parking across road but eazy access breakfast is served in the restaurant with a valchur from motel eggs cooked to order. I did not hear any road noise.
This was our first stay at Days Inn in Sonora. Our room was on the ground floor, quite clean, and comfortable. Breakfast next door was really good and cooked to our request. Service was great and coffee was wonderful. There were laundry facilities just down the walkway, but we did not use them. The wifi was not very good, seemed very slow. We would absolutely stay here again in the future....
