Booked a room here for my wedding anniversary. Overall the place is classy and nice..their welcome cookie is amazingly delicious! (I ate both cookies).. Room is spacious for 2pax with a king sized bed..wifi is strong and there is multi connection for hdmi, rj45(lan connection) for all your business needs at the desk. Wifi is strong and fast. And a special shout out for their amazing breakfast @ makan restaurant! Wide spread of food from 4 different section, Chinese, malay, Indian and western. Totally amazed at the selection of food and we end up sat for 2 hours for breakfast.. Savouring all the different foods.. 5mins away from city square/komtar and ciq.. Getting here is not a hassle at all.. Walking is the best option.

No service at all and i took like 15 mins just to check in . Booked for a club room but didnt even get the club letters till i have to ask to get it . Staff did not anticipate guests needs . Room 2018 has faulty facilities their mirror light according to the engineering staff he said its fake . Only for show only and doesnt work at all. And the roller blinds in the toilet are also faulty because he said that there was no motor . After brushing me off he just went lile thank you and walk off . Zero service and zero service recovery . Cant believe i have to say this. I have such high hopes of having a good stay but turns out not quite . Really disappointing .

Literally a warm welcome with ‘hot from the oven’ cookies served at check-in. The hotel is about 10mins walk from Komtar JBCC. Checked myself into the King One Bedroom Suite. The room comes with a separate living room and bedroom. Corner unit. The living room was spacious fully equipped with a loaded mini-bar fridge, Nespresso machine, 4 bottled water and a work desk. The lighting in the living room seems rather dim though. Bedroom with corner windows offering views of the Johor Straits. The bathroom was huge with a standalone bathtub and separate rainfall shower cubicle. Wished there were 2 sinks instead of one. Toiletries by Crabtree & Evelyn. The room comes with Executive Lounge access, and unless you’re there for cocktail refreshments in the evening, don’t bother. Was there around 3PM to nothing other than helping myself to coffee and fruit punch. There were also jars of crackers and cookies, which look more like it was on display. Lounge staff living the life minding their own business, just greeting me as I stepped into the lounge. Nothing exclusive here. Breakfast spread at the restaurant was more than enough serving a wide variety of mains and usual breakfast staples. The swimming pool was cosy and nice, almost has that resort vibe but crowded right after breakfast. Sharing the same floor as the swimming pool is the steam room equipped with jacuzzi and steam room. Thoroughly enjoyed my short stay here.

It was a comfortable stay for my mum, my younger brother and myself. The warm cookie welcome is definitely not disappointing and this is the first hotel I’ve been to that has such a wonderful service. Fell in love too with the Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries! The breakfast buffet is a must have too - features food from the Chinese, Malay, Indian cuisine and delectable desserts, pastries and also ice cream! You can look forward to the cold-pressed juices as well in the morning 🙃

Haven’t ever stayed in a double tree so not really sure of the standard or level of this hotel chain. The hotel is quite new, clean, modern. Things I liked: Location is good for access to shopping mall and bus terminal. Bed, sheets, good shower. Modern and clean Good service at front desk Welcome cookie (sugar is good after a long day travelling) Good breakfast buffet with a lot of variety Things that let down my stay: In room tea was poor quality - As was the lobby tea, coffee and hot Chocolate was all bad tasting. Wouldn’t bother to order it. Breakfast ordered a cappuccino and it was not bearable. Service at the lobby was really poor and communication - maybe new staff and a bit shy?? Couldn’t turn off the lights inside the wardrobe at night. General comments: Overall, not bad and there is not much good choice around JB so probably one of the better options. Could be nice view over to Singapore if you are on a higher floor that I was. Had a pool, but didn’t get a chance to try it.

Arrived early in the morning (8am) and was told I can't check in yet as there were no room available. However the receptionist was nice enough to help me with registration so I could have a faster check in later that morning. Eventually I was allowed to check in at 11am, which was still earlier than the published check in time. Room was clean and spacious. Loved the steam room and jacuzzi. Overall stay was pleasant. However I would suggest waiving the hotel parking fee of RM10. Your room rates are considered high when compared to other hotels in JB. Therefore I felt the additional parking charge was unwarranted. Parking should be a convenience that a hotel (of your class) provides its guests for free. To charge us for that seemed like an exploitation to me.

Check-in was fast. Room is clean, comfy bed and you can even ask them to change your pillow if you're not comfortable with the ones they gave (they have this pillow menu to choose from). We ordered room service and the food was surprisingly good and reasonably priced. I’m a sucker for breakfast buffet and their selection was pretty wide. I really enjoyed the food. Looking forward to our next stay.

We are greeted by their signature cookies (it’s still warm!) the check-in process was smooth. The staffs are helpful. Any request made via the care line was attended very promptly. The swimming pool is pretty but it can get crowded in the mornings of weekends. I enjoyed the jacuzzi a lot! It is hidden in the changing and steam room. The tub can fit a max of 2 people. Enjoy the view of the city while enjoying the bubbly pump treatment is certainly one of the highlights of the stay ;)

Website stated King bed, but I got a queen size bed only. Amenities missing, need to call to get basic amenities such as comb. Went out and upon arrival back to the hotel, the entire room corridor had photocopied papers on the floor. It was deliberately placed there. Poor quality A5 sized photocopied letters to guests asking us to settle payment and check out early. At least have the courtesy to slip it under the door. These looked like someone accidentally dropped a pile of papers on the floor and neglected to pick it up. It felt as if I was not welcomed here, despite me paying for the stay. Only good thing was the service at the lobby. Bell man was prompt and efficient. Check in & check out was fuss free. However, staff were all lacking the warmth & genuine from the heart kind of service. Can't blame them since management allows to chase guest out with cheap flyers.

This was my second visit to the JB Double Tree. As a Hilton Diamond member I was upgraded to a suite again which has a separate lounge. The room is very comfortable and has beautiful views. Gym and pool facilities are excellent. Had dinner at Tosca and it was fabulous. Fantastic room service always. Executive lounge has delicious finger food. Waling distance to JB Square and Komtar shopping centres. Concierge always helpful and efficient. Tip 1: Request concierge to send laundry to near by laundromat for very reasonable rates. Tip 2: Request concierge to arrange taxi to Singapore. They can arrange good rates.
