Good location. Great pool, spa and fitness center. I had to have my key card reprogrammed THREE times in my one night stay because it kept deactivating despite not being near electronics or cell phone. When I adjusted the room temp, the heater set off the smoke alarm due to the burning smell.
Great downtown location, clean, hot tub and pool looked new, great breakfast, I was sent with a cup of delicious coffee to-go, friendly staff.
The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The room service staff were amazing. They gave us all the stuff we requested and more.
The indoor pool was much larger than normal hotels and wonderful, as was the attached restaurant, which was really quite nice quality food and service!
Great food. Pool hot tub and sauna. Clean hotel, friendly and helpful staff
Overall our stay was great. We always stay at this hotel when we are in town and have a great experience. During this two day trip the front desk called the room at 12:20AM to ask if we had checked in and were in our room????? The second night, house keeping came by at 9:20PM!!!! This wouldn’t have been that big a deal but we have an 11 MONTH OLD WHO WAS SLEEPING, as were we. What hotel calls you in the middle of the night to see if you are there? Or knocks at your door that late? We stayed there to get some rest while visiting family, not be woken up.
Nice room, easy check in. Avoid the parking garage! Tasty breakfast, a little bit slow. Great spacious room.
Don’t park near any rubble piles that you see, the ceiling is crumbling and falling all over, I was definitely concerned about the integrity of the garage. Also, if you use Orbitz or other online booking besides IHG your room bed requests are only a request and subject to availability, definitely take that into account when making reservations here.
Stayed there for a wedding. Very nice. Enjoyed congregating in the public areas with family and friends.
Clean, spacious room, with small bathroom. You can't order room service with door tag, but have to call- didn't bother. Free van shuttle to local restaurants a bonus.
This was a business trip, and I had my choice of hotels. I selected this one because of the four star rating, but now I've come to realize that was a terrible mistake. Let's start with the hotel room (best part of the trip). I have to say how impressed I am with the cleanliness of the rooms. Looking behind a nightstand for a bedside power outlet, I was very pleased to find they even vacuumed there! Ok, on to the Wifi. This is a business trip, and I've challenged myself to write this review from the hotel's wifi. Needless to say I'm 28 minutes in, having had to reconnect several times and wait MANY minutes for the pages to load. Oh, and it's 7:30am. If it were 6pm, on, I wouldn't have gotten nearly this far. I called the front desk on my first night to see if there were problems, and she (very indifferently) told me there's nothing she could do that it's handled by a 3rd party. No sorry, no commiseration, nothing. This is a huge deal as I need to work, and was forced to drive to the Panera 5 miles away for reliable wifi. On to the front desk staff. Entering and exiting the building, you'd be lucky they even pick up their heads to notice you, and forget a smile or hello! This isn't a big deal, but traveling a lot, it's these small things that make a hotel a place you'd like to return to. Most hotels get it, this one doesn't.
Staff was very friendly and helpful and the rooms were very clean
Hotel was very clean. Staff was extremely nice. Great wine bar.
We stayed here twice with our 6- and 10-year old sons, one summer and one winter stay. PROS - Kids loved: the indoor pool, their adjoining room, the shampoo (!). We loved: the entertainment of the indoor pool (escaping winter cold and summer heat), the ease and menu touches of the restaurant/bar, the friendly staff. Special shout to the bartender...can't remember her name but her great service, knowledge, and care mixing a tasty drink at the end of a long day made our trip feel like a top-notch vacation. CONS: some AC/heater noise (but it did crank up quickly), dishes left in the room after housekeeping (more than once), the big groups that stay here can be noisy in the halls, although we never had a problem with that going on super late.
Comfortable clean room centrally located cheap parking
Very clean and staff very friendly, we were there for an event and would stay again.
The best of Johnstown which is not good. Parking was not included in the room price which was no bargain. Parking fee not mentioned in selection choice. No help by staff with luggage. You are on your own. Poor value.
A sound hotel with nice rooms and adequate amenities. We stopped to visit friends who recently moved to Johnstown and they recommended the Holiday Inn as that is where his company had them stay during their move. Overall, a pleasant enough stay. The rooms were clean and maintained. The hotel is beginning to show signs of age, but we would stay again when visiting.
Pros, the cleaning and room service staff were very nice and pleasant. It had a place to walk our dog and they accepted our pet which was wonderful. Cons, the room smelled awful like smoke, the front desk folks could be more pleasant. I would recommend bringing your own beach towels because the towels they supply for the pool are tiny. It is a 3 star place.
