This location is beautiful! You are are need hell's valley so expect the sulfur infused water smell to permeate you stay.
Know that if you stay in the south tower, the pool and onsen is in another tower which is the opposite end of the property. Be sure to bring your key everywhere. You need it for the elevators, and to get into the onsen and pool.
Staff is very friendly and helpful and do their best with us english speakers!
The room has comfortable beds, lovely window coverings. The bathroom is all in 1 - shower, sink and toilet together. This is the first time we have had that in japan!
There is a real closet to hang your clothes.
The give you instructions on how to adorn the clothing correctly. Once you get to the onsen it is a little over whelming for a first timer - aka me. This is my experience on the female side.
1. grab a big towel and a hand towel from the attendant.
2.put your shoes in the cubbies when you enter the room
3. you can put your phone and valuable in the small cubby right there that you can lock
4. you can put your robe and what not in a basket further in, you can also keep your valuables and get a bigger locker.
5. take your hand towel and head into the bath
6. wash up - either a full shower type activity or the cup and spring water to the right.
7. enjoy the bath.
There are manny different types of baths. Lovely place, good food, kaiseki was great.
