Hotel needs a lot of updates. Staff was friendly. Great location. You can find nicer hotels for the same price

The carpets need to be replaced and the room needs to be updated. The bathroom has been nicely updated. That's a good start.

Rooms were clean. We had a problem with the toilet both nights. Had to get them to plunge it because it would not flush. The coffee is terrible.

The location is good, not far from bus station, not far from Manhattan. There are many gas stations near the hotel The hotel provide free WIFI, free parking, and free breakfast, it's cheap for families.

I just had a hard time finding the hotel , since I'm not familiar with new York crowded streets

wHEN WE BOOKED THIS HOTEL, IT WAS OUT OF PURE NECESSITY AND very tight budget. I was expecting a horrible evening, but to be fair, was pleasantly surprised. I have paid 2x as much for a much worse stay. The room and bathroom were clean, the flatscreen tv was brand new and, most surprisingly, the staff were very friendly. They even upgraded us to the "honeymoon suite", complete with heart shaped jacuzzi, for free. overall, If I had to, Id stay again and not think twice about it.

I stayed one night in this hotel, and I have very few complaints. The only one is the location, it's literally right next to a very busy road. Other than that, I was very comfortable, the room was very clean, and everything was just great. Even the staff was fairly friendly. I was actually taken by surprise because of some of the awful reviews, but I figured it couldn't be that bad. I gave it a shot, and I am very pleased and would definitely stay here again.

For the price a great value in a little bit out the way area. It's in 5 minute ride from journey square in jersey city. The room was good for what it was meant for a bed and a nights sleep. Bonus is the bar next door that sells very cheap big drinks. You can get comp breakfast in am in lobby. The basics but enough to get you going.

The hotel stay and environment was good. The location was a little constraint.

Located in a very tough neighborhood surrounded by trash and junk everywhere. It was so dirty we immediately checked out and left. Room, if that is what one would call it, was dank, dark, and no idea how clean. Bathroom was impossible to navigate. Sit on the john and the toilet paper dispenser is stuck under the toilet seat lid making you stand up, lift the lid, to get to the paper. Never again. Agent did negotiate a refund for what would have been a second night. No handicapped access to any second floor rooms, which is where we were supposed to go.

You are getting exactly what you're paying for. I was actually surprised that the hotel was better than I had imagined it would be. If your looking for something with easy access to the city, stay in the city. For a short NYE show run without crazy prices, not a bad option.

Rooms are being redone and are nice with all of the usual amenities. The television needs to be replaced, there is no intensity available. I am a lite sleeper so the road noise was a bit much. But that is me.

I am conscious of the fact that I am on an expense account so I always look to spend less that I would had I been on my own. The hotel is 5 minutes from public transport and I get to my water front office in 25 minutes. I also get to the NYC office in about an hour by public trans and 1/2 hour by car. The rooms are clean, the wireless above average, the breakfast - if you can call it that - is skimpy, but by and large all is OK.

For the well-seasoned traveler who is looking for best value and convenience, I highly recommend Red Carpet Inn, located in Jersey City. Getting to Manhattan is very easy - just walk "up the hill" (Manhattan Street) and catch the community shuttle that is "Gate 51". The ride costs 3 bucks and crosses to the city thru Lincoln Tunnel. The staff at Red Carpet were polite and helpful. We all slept well. The local area is very dirty, garbage and trash all about and the traffic on Tonnelle is heavy so be careful of crossing the street. All in all, you can easily spend 150 dollars a night staying in Manhattan, or you can half your costs by staying at Red Carpet Inn. Manhattan is already very pricey as it is.

The staff was very friendly. The room was small and there was no hand towels. It was nice to have a microwave and refrigator in the room which came in handy. Not much dining close but it was in easy driving distance of Ellis Island.

I had to book a hotel in that area at the last minute for a funeral and this was the only available for a reasonable price. The location wasn't great. it is very difficult to go to Manhattan from there. However, the worst part was the hotel itself. There was a storm on saturday and water from the roof was leaking in the bathtub, making it look really dirty. The towels had someone else hair on it and some had lipstick!!! overall, the place looks kind of run down...

When we arrived there, it was raining. The hotel was leaking several places in the corridor and office. We saw a big washbowl to collect falling down the raindrops from the roof in the office, when we are checking in. The room is relatively small and not so clean. However, the value compared with the price appears O.K.

If you are on a low budget, this hotel might fit your needs. The maximum stars that you can give is 3 stars so they earned it. Room was clean, staff was courteous, immediate surrounding is so so but located in acceptable neighbourhood. Best value, you walk up manhattan street and take bus #51 straight to 42nd Ave in nyc for a couple of bucks.

did not feel safe .

Hotel was not very clean. Facilities were ok.
