We had a serious problem at the check in the night we arrived. Although we paid for the full stay (3 nights) in advance they did not give us the room arguing that only half the amount was transfered. We had to wait for 2 (yes correct two) hours until the problem was solved and could get our room at 12.00 midnight !! The staff at the check in is not qualified for appropriate customer service. I've never seen such incompetent service in all the years I've been travelling for.
At first, I must say that I searched for a separate topic on the transfer service of their group (My Blue) and, since I couldn't find it, I'm grading in this post the combined experience (hotel and transfer) Were it only for the hotel, it would be a 3/5, so wouldn't change much. This hotel is probably the most traditional and has the best location in Jeri: front door at the main square, and, on the other side, private access to the best spot of the main beach, and you can use the hotel's beach restaurant structure. Location-wise, it's perfect. The hotel itself is beautiful, discrete and elegant, with two nicely-sized pools. The rooms, on the other hand, are the places where you can feel more clearly the slow decline that affects the whole property. We were given a room (206) with a big mold stain in the wall, so my wife, who is allergic, felt really bad. After requesting, we were given another room (210), with a much more discrete mold stain on the roof, where she could stay healthy enough during our three nights, but with an old and unconfortable mattress, . Once you notice it, you start realizing the decline elsewhere. The swimming pool liners, the sun loungers, and many other details show it is getting old with no repair. The place is overpriced for its current state, but I would still recommend staying there, provided you get a decent, mold-free (as much as possible) room. On the other hand, I strongly advise against hiring their transfer service. The price for a private 4x4 transfer from Fortaleza (the nearest international airport), 300km away, 4hs ride, is R$ 550,00 each way, and it is more or less in line with other options. The transfer in was perfect: we were picked on time in our hotel by a driver with a new and confortable car, and delivered at the hotel's door in time. The transfer out was terrible: the car was old, the back seat was very unconfortable, and the trunk was so packed with hotel stuff that we almost didn't have room for our luggage. The biggest trouble was yet to come. When we stopped at a roadside restaurant for lunch, 2h30min later, the driver put our luggage on the front seat, without further explanation, and only after we insisted he said the trunk was messy, and so I insisted even more to put our luggage back in place, he refused, but after all opened it for me to see. It was very wet, and so as our luggage. He said it was an unspecified cleaning product that had leaked during the ride. Since I was furious and unaware of what had happened with the luggage, I sent an e-mail demanding full reimbursment of the transfer out, and further compensation for eventual damages, that I would evaluate once we arrived in Fortaleza. A manager from the group made contact, tried to justify that this kind of transportation was necessary for the hotel, and, even though it shouldn't have leaked, the cleaning product was harmless. Once our suitcases and our clothes dried in the hotel in Fortaleza, It was clear that, luckly, they weren't damaged. I gave feedback to the Blue Group manager, informing that there were no damages, but insisted I was waiting for the proper compensation for the nuisance. They haven't answered, not even with a formal apology, nevermind any kind of financial compensation. If we were transporting any eletronic device in the trunk (we kept them with us at the back seat), it would be damaged by the cleaning product and, for their reaction, I'm by no means sure that they would have taken responsability for it. Overall I could feel an arrogance (disguised in cordiality) because they are the most important hoteling group in town, and I almost felt they were doing me a favour for transporting potentialy-risky products alongside our luggage against my will or knowledge. Beware of the mold stains, avoid their transfer service at all costs, and you may enjoy staying at My Blue hotel.
The noise from the beach at night was extremely high. The first night we had a room really close to the beach, we could not sleep because of the loud music. But, the next day the wonderful staff arranged so we could switch rooms :) The staff was really great, especially Pedro. Huge thanks to you for speaking very good english! Keep up the good work
My Blue Hotel in Jericoacoara has positive sides : - its position on the main Beach which is great; - the friendly staff at breakfast; - the view on the sunset in the evening from the beach. However, "my blue Hotel" does not seem to make any effort to satisfy their customers. - the atmosphere is extremely noisy. Big groups of people are coming for the day to drink beers at the restaurant, take all the place at the front of the hotel on the beach, putting their own music very loudly, shouting and behaving badly. No one from my Blue Hotel is interfering to ask them to lower their music for example for the comfort of their hotel customers who would like to enjoy the beach too. - there is no manager whether at the hotel or the restaurant to organize things. The staff seems completely lost, on its own and a bit desperate. Except at the breakfast time where the staff is trying to do its best. - in the room, we had the choice between hot water and cold water, but having the two of the them in those rooms which have not been refurbished for a very long time seems too much to ask. - you won't see the bottom of the largest swimming pool as the water is really not clean. They have to do something about it. - my Blue Hotel is not investing in new structures or equipment. For instance, you will just burn your fingers trying to get hot water for your tea from the broken tap of a very old machine at breakfast. What a shame. Customers are burning their fingers every morning but no one seems to care. - The food at the restaurant is very poor quality. The negative sides on this list could be long and overall we were very disappointed by the poor and noisy atmosphere and the lack of consideration of their customers. They should know that even with a good location, some efforts have definitely to be made.
I'm a little bit late in this post, since we've been to Jeri during June 2016, but still I would like to say that My Blue Hotel was a very good choice. Location is great, given you have direct access to the beach; people there were very professional, and when we had a problem with our transfer from Fortaleza, they managed to compensate for the error. Rooms are very clean, and the design of the hotel itself is very beautiful, and original. Breakfast was very good and it was amazing to have it while looking at the ocean. Staff was very helpful when asking for information. Like everywhere else in Jeri, you need to be patient, specially if your comming from a fast pace city like we did. I will recommend this to anyone going to Jeri.
Exceptional location. The rooms on the beach out of the WE are woNderful. Nice personnel at check in english speaking (unusual in Brazil) Room well equiped, nicely decorated) and clean. Wifi not efficient Breakfast could be improved(bread)«
The hotel is very well located, The best is the Manager "Marcellus" is so kind, he has really worried to provide us a great experience in My Blue, but in Jeri is small village ... The breakfast is basic, far from exceptional. The room is ok, but the bathroom have a bad smell. At night, they have a so boring singer that plays for a empty restaurant, Mosquito´s are the worse part of Jeri experience...
My Blue Hotel is a nice hotel with a great location in Jeri. I specially prefer staying at smaller and more cozy "pousadas" in a place like Jeri. I was expecting a better attention at the front desk and was surprised to see they hardly speak English.
This was my second time staying at My Blue Hotel and I was very happy to be back. The Hotel is thoughtfully designed and perfectly located on the most central part of the main beach, near delightful stores and restaurants and also a short walk to the sunset dune, where most people end their day watching one of the most beautiful sunsets in South America. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful and Marcellus who works at the hotel went out of his way to make sure that we had a comfortable and unforgettable stay. I hope to come again soon! *One note: It's difficult to make a reservation as the staff does not seem to answer the phone and they respond slowly to e-mails. Hopefully that tip helps!
Ok...so you are in a national park and the roads are not easy. The hotel is very well located, but in Jeri everybody is because the village is small. The checkin was not smooth but this happens.. The breakfast is basic, far from exceptional. The room is ok, but the bathroom have a bad smell. Everything is average and the big missed opportunity is at the restaurant...a beautiful facility, beach front, but the service sucks...it is almost impossible to get a waiter attention and it really take long for the snacks to come. At night, they have a wonderful, singer that plays for a empty restaurant... And the price is high.
