We were lucky enough to be in a newly painted and updated room. I was pleasantly surprised that there wasn't to much noise from the pool area. I do feel that they maybe didn't vacuum as well as they should have but the bathroom was clean and so were the beds. They also are in teh middle of renovations so you could smell sawdust and new paint , I personally would rather smell that than pool chemical smell I would stay again.
We were booked for 2 nights but packed up and left after one night to stay at a hotel across the street. Ramada is a run down old hotel that is dirty and dilapidated. It was nice 40 years ago. Floors were nasty. Feet stuck to the carpet. The place smelled. Furniture was stored in the hallway. The fitness center was locked up. Beds were lumpy. I would suggest you go stay elsewhere.
Motel was very outdated needed upgrading badly, gas was very loud and uncontrollable water was Brown and very dirty could not feel clean
First of all there's a couple things that were beyond the control of the staff. Supposedly there was a lightning strike which affected the Internet connection quality and a water main break which made a huge impact on the water quality. The water main break made the water unsafe to drink and when questioned about it the staff member said she had heard from her manager about this, but apparently gave her no instruction how to handle this situation, people need clean water to drink. No one knew where the water main to the building came in where they could run the water to help flush the system. I ran the water in my bathtub for over 2 hours when it finally started to clear up, you couldn't even take a shower in this stuff. To my knowledge none of the guests were made aware of the situation and I know they never offered bottled water to anyone to drink.Next food and beverage. The breakfast was excellent and had a wide variety of food to choose from. The bar on the other hand was never opened, apparently they didn't have a bartender on Tuesday, they should have put a sign up to let the guest know. Turns out it wasn't just Tuesday, I don think they had a bartender on staff and the bar remained closed. Now for the room and overall hotel appearance. They did have a sign up stating they were doing some remodeling, which I don't think has been done since the hotel was built in the late 70's early 80's. I notice some things others may not. The emergency lights were original to the building, they had fake plastic wood grain covers on them like the old station wagons. In my room there was paint and texture hanging from the ceiling and some small pieces on the floor. By the looks of it the roof had been leaking as you could follow the sagging paint across the ceiling. For the most part the room was pretty clean, the bathroom appeared clean and then I noticed long dark hairs here and there on the floor and tub. The sink faucet leaked from the handle when turned on and it could have used a new aerator as the water spray was random when turned on. Stepping into the hallway was like stepping into a sauna with the pool located in the center, which was actually cool, but no AC or any kind of dehumidification for the area except one lonely, tiny window AC at the end of one hallway, which was running wasting energy, and all the windows in the stairwell were wide open, SMDH.Oh,the toilet in my room was most likely original to the building also which make it a 3 gallon flush.
My daughter plays on a traveling softball team which we recently traveled to Janesville for a 3-day Tournament. We stayed at Ramada since that is where the rest of our team was staying. My daughter and I were reluctant to be honest. We hear so much of poor experiences at other smaller hotels. This experience by far exceeded my expectations! The two ladies behind the desk at check-in were wonderful! I loved the signs as we walked in stating to please accept their apologies while they are under construction, the pool we walked by on our way to our room was large, had solar windows above, many chairs for guests to relax and this area also included a nice hot tub. Our room was very spacious. Nice size refrigerator, microwave and an extremely clean room! The air conditioning unit worked very well which isn't always the case with these hotels. You could certainly see the extra touch and renovations that were completed. The bed was very comfy and slept 2 adults very well. Then, each morning, there was a complimentary breakfast. OMG! This was not a typical breakfast. You had options of hot eggs, waffles, pancakes, sausages, bagels, cereal, juices, milks, and so much more. The kitchen representative was constantly cleaning up and refilling. There was plenty of room to sit. It was beyond perfect for our short stay. I have shared with friends and family since returning home last week highly recommending if anyone is looking to get away for a weekend. Thank you to the staff at Ramada! Our team had a great time and the girls were able to enjoy the pool each night when our games were over.
We stayed in room 109, and upon entering the room, it smelled very musty, and damp. Paid over $130 for this room, that was with my discounts. I opened the refrigerator, to find a nearly completely eaten salad that had been in there for Who knows how long. Upon making my reservation, It almost seemed like it was a bother for them, to book me the room. No I have stayed at this Ramada several times in the past. I do understand they are going through renovations. But this is not even close to being a renovation coincidence. I have worked construction for 40 years. But on a bright note, the new breakfast area I will give five stars too. A great variety, and plenty of room for people to sit, and serve themselves. Thank you for that.
We stayed one night. The TV did not work. Water in shower was lukewarm. Towels, etc were frayed. The place just looked run-down.
Renovated Ramada...Suits needs of a place to crash and clean enough...meets bathing needs...not luxurious but very sufficient..Better than any other Ramada Hotel I have visited.
The Ramada Inn inJanesville WI was a nice place to stay. The toons have been redone and are clean and comfortable. The swimming pool is large is located inside in the center of the hotel. There are tables and chairs around the pool making it a good place to relax. The breakfast was very good with several choices available served in a large comfortable area. We enjoyed our stay there and would definitely stay there again.
Stayed weekend of May 26th for a graduation. Building was under construction and had no notice nor was it posted on the direct website. It was filthy from construction. Hot tub wasn't working, under construction. None of the outlets in our room worked, unless it was plugged into the outlet on the two lamps we had. Caught a couple having intimate relations in the pool "after hours". The elevator rarely worked, especially during the night. Greeting housekeeping in the morning, waste of time; they looked at myself and my other like we were speaking jibberish to them. Billing was horrible - tried to contact manager after the holiday and was repeatedly told that he was in "meetings all day and that he would get back to us". That never happened. Had to deal with a "youre wasting my time attitude" female who only made matters worse. We arrived an hour earlier than check in, which we drove six hours to get to, and the lady gave us a hard time about checking in A HOUR EARLY. Clearly it wasn't busy enough to deny an hour early check in. We had other family who checked in the day before, who also had billing problems upon check out. Not to mention the elderly woman who was wandering the halls in a t-shirt and a diaper telling people she had pooped her pants and that she loves running naked in the rain. Honestly, the only enjoyable part of our stay was breakfast and the young guy, can't remember his name but he's taller, Caucasian, shaggy brown hair, blue eyes, laid back and always had a smile, he was the attendant for the breakfast room. He was super kind and welcoming. Someone needs to tell that young man to keep up the great work cause he's the only who brought his A-game that weekend.
