The views from the hotel are amazing! Truly breathtaking... However, the staff was VERY slow and not attentive. Also, the room had dust ,dead bugs and the hallways had broken picture frames. Not sure if it was because of Covid and reduced staff, but it really does it matter - the customers pays the same rate, so you do expect what you are promised.
The infinity pool 1000 feet above the ocean is unparalleled... and absolutely amazing. The 4-person above ground hot tub was absolutely not. Staff was great, food was above average, outdoor ocean view balconies were stunning, and the hotel grounds were really pleasant, but rooms were outdated. In short, I was a little disappointed as it didn't quite live up to the photos online.
The restaurant was not what I expected for a five star hotel, very high prices for the food offered.
Unique location, well thought beautiful architecture and infrastructure, breathtaking views from private balcony, restaurant, wonderful spa, infinity pool, private beach, and friendly helping concierge Laura. The owner did a great job and put his soul in building this jewel for the world! Feels very exclusive and private. We saw monkeys and macaw right from the balcony. Staff is friendly, however, they don't change sheets on the beach the night before and there was nobody at 9AM to give us towels. Also, we had to wait pretty long for dinner service and got not fresh shrimp once. But all the other food, including breakfast was wonderful.

The reception staff is so uptight. No smiles, no warm welcome. The general manager who is French is an absolute jerk. It is a pretty hotel with some beautiful views. But honestly it is Costa Rica. You can watch a better sunset at the beach. This hotel is absolutely overpriced for the experience. I might consider staying here again if it was not for the French General Manager. Treated my friend horrible - cursing at her and threatening to call the police while yelling "have fun with your son in jail". This was due to an issue with the payment, even though they had secured a payment at this point. They locked the gates and would not let the transportation van out. Absolutely horrifying- especially for a child. This place was talked up to me for my wedding - but it was not worth it. If I had a do over I would have my wedding elsewhere. DO NOT waste your money here.
Masterful location for the ultimate get-away. 5-star luxury hotel and as close as you can get to the forest and its natural habitats...!!!
My husband and I stayed for two nights in a room overlooking the ocean. The room was beautifully appointed and the view breathtaking. Staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel's private beach is just a short ride away, and a shuttle is provided. All necessary amenities are provided at the beach (bathroom, drinks, snacks, towels, etc). We really had a great couple of days there.
Heaven on earth ! If you are looking for a retreat or a place to relax after you've had your share of Costa Rican adventures Villa Caletas is the place to go. The staff is very attentive to your needs. The food is great. From their amphitheater you have the best view of the town to watch the sunset ! And if you haven't had enough adventures, they offer several tours form the hotel.
Amazing Boutique Hotel with a magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean. Hotel is situated in a hill where you can amaze your eyes with one of the most beautiful views in Costa Rica. The hotel is a trip to a French elegant place, along with pools that connect with the ocean. Keep in mind you'll have to claim stairs there are several steps around the property due to the hill location, but if that's not a problem is totally worth the visit. The service is Costa Rican kindness at its best! The most amazing staff!
