For 35 years of visits to New Bern, I have stayed with friends. This year when coming for a Tryon Palace board meeting, they were out of town so tried the Aerie. Best choice I could have made. The owners and staff give the utmost in comfort and Southern hospitality from beautifully appointed and decorated and very comfortable rooms to amenities that make you feel as though you are in your own home. The full breakfast is fabulous with warm, cheerful service. Wine and cheese on patio at 5 pm is elegant and so nice to mingle with other guests. Free parking, steps away from Tryon Palace and downtown. Best experience ever. Highly recommend.

The social hour was great! It was so nice to meet the other guests and owner. The Aerie was beautiful and the breakfast was delicious! The owners definitely take pride in service! New Bern is such a quaint town. We hope to visit again!

My wife found The Aerie on Hotels.com and we we both enjoyed our stay very much. We had the Carolina Room right off the main sitting area which was very convenient to the coffee service, dining room, DVD lending library, and social hour cookie tray! The room was more than spacious plus had a very comfortable bed and jetted tub. Many downtown shops and restaurants are an easy few blocks walk away. My wife loved the attention to detail with the decor being period-accurate and tasteful. We both enjoyed the breakfast choices and food quality plus the evening wine was a nice touch. Keith and Dina were both very cordial, welcoming, and attentive. We left very happy to have found this place and expect visiting again when in New Bern.

We enjoyed our stay at the Aerie. Our hosts Cheri and David were best of hosts! We were welcomed warmly by Cheri . Service was outstanding. Warm cookies in the afternoon, wine and cheese at 5 pm and oh my the breakfasts! David loves to cook. Each day we were served a fruit dish, warm bread and amazing egg dishes. I especially liked the yoghurt pancakes which were the perfect size to serve with quiche. They gave us great recommendations for restaurants and were able to make reservations for us so we could focus on having fun. At the end of our visit, my sister took a bad fall. Cheri jumped into action calling 911 immediately. EMS arrived in no time to get us to the hospital. So know that not only are are you welcomed and well fed at the Aerie, you are in capable hands in an emergency.

I have stayed at this gorgeous b&b for about ten years now. Superb luxury. Mike and Marty were owners up until about a year ago, and we will miss them dearly. Have not meet the new owners yet but if nothing much has changed it will again be my standard stop.

Lovely home. The staff went full force in providing a welcoming environment. The room was clean, bed very comfy. Great location; able to walk to water front with it's stellar views. The breakfast was scrumptious. The food was definitely 5 Star.

Our first B&B experience exceeded our expectations. Our hosts, Cheri and David, were covering for the owners and were professionals in all respects. They were most cordial and went out of their way to make all the guests comfortable and welcome without being intrusive. David even shared some of his culinary secrets and recipes with several of the guests and gave us a tour of their other facility across the street. Both were beautifully done with period furnishings and decor. The breakfast was exceptional. We were impressed with the facility and level of hospitality and look forward to another stay in the future.

We stayed at the Aerie B&B which was our second visit in two years. It was another wonderful visit. The innkeepers Dina & Keith were very hospitable and their wine and cheese hour was a nice welcome. The room was very nicely decorated with antique furniture and was very charming. The breakfast was gourmet cuisine. It was a very nice visit!

As our very first bed and breakfast experience we had an amazing time! It was a perfect romantic getaway. The location was in walking distance of downtown which included many great restaurants and fun things to do. We stayed in the Tuscarora Suite. The room had a very comforting feel to it, and we loved the spacious tub. Everything about breakfast was amazing. We really loved how the owners were very friendly and really care about customer satisfaction. We definitely recommend this experience!

The owners, Dina & Keith are present w/out being invasive, personable, easy to talk & The Aerie is a well run B&B. We stayed in the Tuscarora room, which is a very nice size w/ king bed & a good size seating area. Bathroom is also large (but could use a shelf or two to put toiletry kits on). All clean and nicely decorated (in keeping w/ Victorian style). Breakfast in the dining room is nicely done: all individually prepared and professionally & pleasantly served.
