I will start out by saying that the property manager was great to work with. Very helpful and great communication. Unfortunately, the property isn't so great. It's old. It's tired, and is in need of some serious help.
One week before our arrival, we were notified that the main balcony would be sealed off and not usable. After a long Wisconsin winter, this is not what I wanted to hear. I wanted quiet mornings sitting outside sipping my coffee, watching the sunrise. That was not to be. They offered to find me a new location or give me a percentage off. I would have moved but there was nothing available given it was one week out and spring break week. We took the discount.
We arrived and noticed right away why the balcony doors were sealed. It's obvious that they've been leaking water in for years. The base boards underneath were severely rotted and it looked as if they had been painted over several times to try to cover it up. It looked pretty serious.
Moving on... furniture. Pretty sure half of this stuff has either been here for 25 years or they bought it from a garage sale. Some of it was down right gross. We put the legs up on the newer recliner and there was dirt and sand in the hammock. The couches are beyond worn. The dining table scratched to hell. The beds, old and worn out. You could feel the springs in the king. The carpet in the upstairs bedrooms was stained all over. The plumbing was corroding from years of being by the sea. Everything worked as it should thankfully until the downspout on one of the showers fell off.... They came to silicone it back on when we asked but it was obvious, this has happened time and time again, The kitchen was missing some of the basics. No wine key or bottle opener. No scissors. The dishwasher ran but didn't clean well, not to mention the smell. The kitchen faucet leaked every time you turned it on. For what we paid for this place, it was the price of a penthouse, without the vibe. We looked at the condo that was for rent next door. All updated. Beautiful. Hard to believe it was just on the other wall. Whoever owns this place needs to give it some love. We will never rent it again.
