Everything about this property was very underwhelming from the food to the amenities not a single person that we encountered other than the barista at the Starbucks had basic customer service skills. there was zero warmth, just blank stares and silence. the place was not decorated for Christmas. There was a very money grabbing attitude at every turn staff did not greet us but just asked us if we had prepaid for this and that service. Our room 204 was horrendous, located over a giant industrial HVAC vent which we had trouble sleeping through. fortunately the second night we were relocated to a decent room. I don’t have plans to go back

Our recent stay at The Lodge was overall pleasant and comfortable, and we truly see great potential in this property. The rooms are spacious, well-equipped with kitchen facilities, and ideal for families or longer stays. We also appreciated the convenience of having an indoor waterpark, a Starbucks, and both a restaurant and bar right on the premises — everything you might need for a relaxing getaway. The dining experiences were particularly enjoyable. The restaurant offered delicious meals with great service, and our breakfasts and coffees at Starbucks were consistently excellent. These amenities truly enhance the overall guest experience and make The Lodge stand out. However, we did encounter some disappointments with the front desk service upon arrival. The staff member at reception seemed distracted and disengaged — she was on her phone when we arrived, and we had to wait for her to acknowledge us. When we finally checked in, she provided incorrect information about the pool, and we had to return to the desk for clarification. Additionally, we were not informed that the pool would close earlier the following day due to the holiday, which unfortunately affected our plans. While the facilities themselves are impressive, the first impression created by front desk staff is equally important. A warmer welcome, better attentiveness, and more accurate communication would make a significant difference in guests’ overall experience.

Our daughter is a student at SUNY Cortland. We always try to stay at Hope Lake Lodge since it's a beautiful resort with great amenities and fitness center just minutes away from Cortland. Staff is always professional and friendly! We love staying here and can't wait to book again!

This was our second stay at the Hope Lake Lodge and we loved it! The Lodge is beautiful; it has a very cozy lobby with a fireplace and bar and outside the lobby is a nice firepit area with tables and chairs. Our room was a very nice size and extremely clean. We dined at both Carvers and Trax Pub & Grill (located across the street) and enjoyed both places. We will be back again!
