A very nice hotel with very friendly staff everyone from the reception staff on arrival to the housekeeping staff as the hotel is immaculate and the restaurant and bar staff who were all very attentive to the clients. The hotel should be very proud of every single member of staff. We were upgraded on our arrival to a Junior Suite which was spacious and very comfortable, the choice of food in the restaurant, the evening entertainment, and the activities in the hotel were exceptional. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and the walk through the very well kept grounds to the beach and the coastal path to the town was very pleasant. The gift from the management on my birthday was unexpected and appreciated. Thank You.

Went with jet 2, beware, if you book through them you are only offered one type of room which does Not Exist according to the hotel . We had to be firm and very persistent to get the room we had booked or thought we had. The staff are all lovely and although the weather was bad they did out on a rainy day programme so tried to keep people busy. Entertainment in the evenings is not good and not much to do so if you want lively forget it. Food was varied but no themed nights which would have been nice. Lots of sports. We were a little confused as the hotel web site and the jet 2 brochure vary as to where these actives are. If you are staying here the gym, indoor pool are free to use, but you still have to pay for tennis. Courts are good though. The gym and indoor pool are in the hotel and the tennis courts are at the side of it so no walking miles. We intended to hire bikes but thought these expensive so didn't in the end. The outdoor pool is open from 9 so Sunbeds can not be reserved which is good although I would have preferred it to open a little earlier especially in mid summer when the days are longer and warmer. Drinks in hotel are quite expensive but I guess they are most places. Another tip take a kettle as no tea making facilities in the rooms. Pool towells are available free and free wifi too. The walk into Porec is about half an hour but a land train runs if you didn't want to walk

Hi , we were at this hotel on tennis tournament and i have to say its very nice hotel on really high level. Rooms are beautifull , food is very tasty , staff is nice and willing to. Nice to stay here and i can very well recommend this hotel.

A large hotel but with very friendly and helpful staff. The bedrooms are a decent size, very clean, the bed was super king size and very comfortable. There is a mini-bar (chargeable), which we did not use (the door is sealed). Our room was on the sixth floor and overlooked the car park which doesn't sound good but in fact it was a peaceful room and when you're on the balcony you cannot see the car park anyway. All the common areas in the hotel are very clean and well maintained. The food was excellent. Plenty of choices for breakfast and evening meals and a lot of the food was cooked at each food station by the chefs, so it was all fresh as well. In fact there's too much choice. Bar prices were typical of a four star hotel in the UK. Pool area is locked until 09:00am, but we never had a problem finding sun loungers no matter what time of day we went to the pool. It's a one mile walk to the main square in Porec, where you'll find plenty of places for a bite (if you still feel hungry) or just grab a drink. I definitely recommend this hotel to you.

Very friendly staff. Plenty of food and a very good selection you would find it hard not to find something you liked freshly cook bread in the mornings pizza for those who like that in the evenings salads fish and meats plenty of sun beds no fighting for them but must admit it was June when we went so not one of the busiest times but did not open the pool until 9 so you couldn't put your towels on beds at the crack of dawn like some people do at other hotels. On the down side a bit of a walk into Porec but very pretty along the coast through the pine forest but ther is a water taxi, taxi, cycle taxi, or small train for those who prefer not to walk

We had a v enjoyable stay in early July and i find to hard to criticise just about anything about the hotel. IF i had to, i would say i was not a huge fan of the outside pool, but you can also use the pool next door at the Valamar Crystal which i really liked or indeed the indoor pool. However i have to say, the main reason for my review is just to say i really don't understand some reviewers comment about the staff being unable to cope at the night time meal. having stayed in Istria 3 years ago, the one thing i really noticed this year was that fact that the service levels generally were much better, as was the bread and desserts. If there were any problems then i would say these were caused by guest behaviour. The buffet choice was MASSIVE and virtually uniformly good and as a result on some nights there were very short (and i mean say 4 or 5 people) waiting at a food station - of which there were lots - for say freshly cooked squid. The problem would only come when someone in the queue would decide they were going to take all of the freshly cooked batch, but even then all you had to do was go round again a bit later. Not once was i unable to have what i wanted. Breakfast was also v v good and 99% of the time, the staff were excellent and funny.

Valamar never fail to disappoint in terms of cleanliness and service. Although most hotel staff are very attentive and approachable, some are not as lively. If you want your lunch within an hour then do not go to the pool bar. More staff are needed at breakfast and dinner where the staff were visibly struggling to cope with the covers most nights. These few faults aside, the pool was great, there was no fighting for sunbeds, you could show up at any time of day and get one, also the guys looking after the pool area and handing out the towels were very chatty and amiable. Nice indoor pool and gym, nice reception staff and in a great location. You are a 15 minute walk into centre of Porec and it is a lovely big coastal walk there, also close enough to take public transport to Rovinj and Pula which were worth a day visit. Porec centre got lots of bars and restaurants for cocktails and food. The bars at the front are more expensive than those in the square so go into the square and walk through the shops, very lively nightlife, busier than we first thought but still a nice walk at night. We were on the first floor of the hotel where there was no view at all. If you want a nice view you'll need to request one of the few sea view rooms on or above the 3rd floor.

By now we have stayed at several Valamar around Croatia e.g. in Porec, Krk and Dubrovnik. Valamar always meets our expectations. A large hotel complex with nice and clean rooms and friendly and professional staff. The hotel is nicely located close to the beach and the city-centre of Porec. The pool area is nice and there are plenty of sun lounges available. Great gym facilities and available high-speed wifi. The restaurant is good and offers a wide range of different dishes (gluten-free and lactose-free alternatives available). It would be nice to be able to book the hotel without half-board included. Drinks are not included in the half-board price which is unfortunate since drinks are quite expensive to buy at the hotel. The hotel is family friendly with a lot of activities for kids.

We are still at hotel and found it very nice lovely setting nice walk to town or you can get the small train staff excellent but if there is any fault you need more staff on outside bar area we stopped in cavtat last year and bar area was a lot better with staff on hand all the time but would come back as the staff you have are a credit

Clean hotel not four star more like three food very repetitive with not enough staff they struggle most evening ....mostly the staff are helpful the pool guys very good our room was on the first floor with a balcony but looking over top of buildings!!!!not ideal.if you want to sit down by the sea front you have to pay for sun bed , The little noddy train is great to get into town Potec well worth a visit pleasant hotel for a short break 4days for enough
