Valamar Diamant Hotel

Valamar never fail to disappoint in terms of cleanliness and service. Although most hotel staff are very attentive and approachable, some are not as lively. If you want your lunch within an hour then do not go to the pool bar. More staff are needed at breakfast and dinner where the staff were visibly struggling to cope with the covers most nights. These few faults aside, the pool was great, there was no fighting for sunbeds, you could show up at any time of day and get one, also the guys looking after the pool area and handing out the towels were very chatty and amiable. Nice indoor pool and gym, nice reception staff and in a great location. You are a 15 minute walk into centre of Porec and it is a lovely big coastal walk there, also close enough to take public transport to Rovinj and Pula which were worth a day visit. Porec centre got lots of bars and restaurants for cocktails and food. The bars at the front are more expensive than those in the square so go into the square and walk through the shops, very lively nightlife, busier than we first thought but still a nice walk at night. We were on the first floor of the hotel where there was no view at all. If you want a nice view you'll need to request one of the few sea view rooms on or above the 3rd floor.

By now we have stayed at several Valamar around Croatia e.g. in Porec, Krk and Dubrovnik. Valamar always meets our expectations. A large hotel complex with nice and clean rooms and friendly and professional staff. The hotel is nicely located close to the beach and the city-centre of Porec. The pool area is nice and there are plenty of sun lounges available. Great gym facilities and available high-speed wifi. The restaurant is good and offers a wide range of different dishes (gluten-free and lactose-free alternatives available). It would be nice to be able to book the hotel without half-board included. Drinks are not included in the half-board price which is unfortunate since drinks are quite expensive to buy at the hotel. The hotel is family friendly with a lot of activities for kids.

We are still at hotel and found it very nice lovely setting nice walk to town or you can get the small train staff excellent but if there is any fault you need more staff on outside bar area we stopped in cavtat last year and bar area was a lot better with staff on hand all the time but would come back as the staff you have are a credit

Clean hotel not four star more like three food very repetitive with not enough staff they struggle most evening ....mostly the staff are helpful the pool guys very good our room was on the first floor with a balcony but looking over top of buildings!!!!not ideal.if you want to sit down by the sea front you have to pay for sun bed , The little noddy train is great to get into town Potec well worth a visit pleasant hotel for a short break 4days for enough

Stayed for 3 nights at this hotel. Very nice staff (always in the mood for a joke), very clean, a lot of amenities. Buffet for breakfast and dinner was full of awesome plates. although a bit away from the city center, the distance was still ok to get there by foot. Very nice, overall stay. I would come back.

My partner and I have recently returned from a two week stay in Porec. The location of the hotel is stunning. Whilst it wasn’t the best 4* hotel we have stayed in the location and the helpful and friendly staff (particularly Tatyana, Alexander and Rosanna in the restaurant were brilliant and also the ladies behind the bar) which more than make up any negatives we may have had with the hotel. The choice of food was plentiful if not always to our taste. The rooms were spacious and bright and the view from our balcony was lovely to wake up to. We thought the bathrooms let the hotel down as they were very small and dated but overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The area has plenty to offer with beautiful walks and places of interest to visit within easy reach on the public transport. A visit to the Lim Fjord is a must. We went with Kristian in the harbour, it is a small boat which seats about 20 people and on the way back he spotted a pod of dolphins which was wonderful. All in all we had a wonderful holiday.

Rooms are cosy with everything you need. Service at breakfast was good with everything filled up. We had a meal one evening it was good again service we couldn't fault. Didnt stay in the hotel to eat much as we like to sample other places. Walk about 20 mins into the town with some great tapas and wine. Beer reasonable prices. Great trip to Venice for the day expensive but we worth it. I had been 30 years ago when it was Yugoslavia where I had good memories and the coast line not changed. Certainly visit Croatia again. Only downfall service very slow in the town but very friendly

Well, where do we start the Hotel, the staff, the food, the area? We think that the staff should come first for they either make or break the Hotel. On arrival we were allocated a room on the 7th floor but the view west was very, very limited ( we had requested a high floor with a sea view). I spoke to Tim on reception who moved us after 2 days to a room at the end of the 6th floor and the views were excellent. I cannot speak too highly of Tim whose attitude and help was outstanding. We felt that the food in the Hotel (considering that they cater for about 500) was very good with a wide choice both for breakfast and evening meal with meat, fish, vegetarian gluten free etc. If nothing was to your liking then you must be extremely difficult to please. On duty in the restaurant, amongst others, was one Tatyana. She must have been on all customer service course available-- superb. The rooms are of reasonable proportions, spotless (thank you Abeda and Ana) and well equipped. For the best views and for the sun on the balcony the 6th floor and above overlooking the pool and at the back of the Hotel offer the best options. The pool was never crowded and the poolside bar offers a good range of food and drink with excellent attentive staff in particular Goran. A 156-20 minute stroll along the shore line takes you to Porec with its many bars and restaurants. Overall a most enjoyable stay with many thanks to all the staff who do not go the extra mile they do a marathon.

Overall, an average hotel experience. Rooms are cozy, especially small is bathroom, lower floors has no view to the sea. Nice pool area with lots of sun loungers, beach is few minutes walk away. Breakfast is good. Wi-Fi is difficult to connect but it works well. Parking is close to hotel and its’ free. The position of the hotel is on the outskirts of city of Poreč, you can reach city center easily in 15 minutes walk along the coast.

Nice Hotel next to the Sea. The city is 20 minutes by walk, but it is easy to walking when you have beautiful blue view on the side. We had room with sea view the room was clean just as much as the hotel. Really nice location and friendly staff. Breakfast and Dinner was excellent thank you for the Chefs! :) Was a good experience I will recommend the hotel to my friends! :) Thank you so much!
