My wife and I visited Istanbul during April 2018. It was not our first visit to the city. We decided to stay in Sheraton Ataköy this time over looking the Sea of Marmara. The sumptuous modern architectural design and interior details makes this hotel one of the best in Istanbul. We are Sherwood club members. Our club room overlooking the sea was gorgeous by all means. The wooden floors, the comfortable double bed, the sofa and desk added to the usability of the room. The bathroom design with separate walk in shower & bath tub, separate toilet and the double hand wash basin with two mixers made the room use highly efficient and comfortable. I give the cleanliness full mark. The sound proof is very efficient. We enjoyed the use of the club lounge at the 24th floor with nice open views to Marmara sea. The club receptionists were very helpful and welcoming. I found the provisions for breakfast and off hours very minimal in comparison with other club lounges I experienced in other places. The hotel reception staff are extremely helpful and polite. The bell boys are exceptionally helpful with big smiles all the time. The only problem with this property is its approach by car from the main roads. It gives you the impression of going through backyard service roads not compatible with the standard of the property. I however, highly recommend this property for visitors to the beautiful city of Istanbul. Alan
Check-in process can be quite slow, especially when the front desk staff doesn't respect Starwood priority after normal business hours. The hotel reeks of cigarette smoke (much like the rest of Istanbul), and even the "smoke-free" floors smell. Pretty amazing that an American chain hasn't gone smoke-free in all of its properties and is willing to subject its staff to second hand smoke. The rooms are decent size, and my upgraded room was quite large, but the decor is probably 30 years old and the furniture is worn and shabby. Pretty weak for Starwood. If you're Starwood elite, you'll have access to the 24th floor lounge, but the breakfast was mediocre at best, and considering the amazing food in Istanbul, it was quite poor.
I had the pleasure of staying in this hotel on two separate occasion in one week. the first stay was in a standard room. The second was an upgrade (as a gold SPG/Marriott) to a large corner room overlooking the harbor. There is security at the entrance and I always felt safe. All of the staff was incredible with most speaking English. The rooms are clean and modern. Each room has a mini-bar and coffee bar. My only challenge is that the showers have so many button and nobs, you need an engineering degree not to scold or freeze to death. Also, both times the walk in shower flooded outside the bathroom. Breakfast is included and is awesome. I would stay in this hotel any day.
We only stayed one night, before our return flight back home and we were very impressed by the quality of service and their hospitality. The rooms have a great sea view, very spacious and soft pillows, had a very good night sleep. The breakfast buffet was very good, great variety. It is just 10 m in car from the airport so it is very convenient.

Between the 22 Jan – 29 Jan 2018 I stayed at Sheraton Atakoy Hotel - Istanbul for 7 nights in room 2104 - 2103. As I mentioned to your receptionist and director at the time, the accommodation was unsatisfactory in the following ways Our reservation was a club room for 2 adults and 1 child, and another deluxe room for 2 adults during the check in we requested an access for my companion in the other room as I am staying alone in the room to the club, we spent more than an hour discussing with the manager the matter and end up with nothing as the stuff were not provided with reasonable care and skills to solve or satisfy the client, as most of the Hotels world wide give minimum 2 access for the club room guest. On the next day, both of the room keys were staying in was not working, so went down to get new one but unfortunately the stuff attitude and way of dealing was so unprofessional and illogical, he requested to get my passport copy or to go up with me to the room to make sure it’s my room, we understand that this thing is for the customer security but the way of dealing is not professional at all. On the checkout we spent more than an hour as the reception stuff lost the authorization receipt with amount of 10K Turkish Lera we confirm during the check in. And attached a different one for different person and different amount, they spent more than 45 mins searching for the receipt and they couldn’t find it, which require the director of the room to go out and start negotiation in offensive way, and spoke with me with in an unpolite way. he shouted on me and told me that it might be my mistake and start putting the blame on me with losing the authorization receipt? really, he ruined my day and annoyed me with his unpolite attitude, honestly when he shows up I thought a good help will be provided but unfortunately a shame was instead, they delayed us an hour on our flight, and gave us the a very bad image about the team and stuff. I mentioned the major problem I faced that really disappointed me, and expect the other points as the room service, I will be attaching some photos to see the dust in the room and the fruit bowl they left for 7 days in my room with out changing it. also next to the Hotel ongoing construction so you cant sleep because of the noise However, I paid the amount ad left disappointed having the worst experience ever in Hotel, for me as a business man spent more than 30 years rounding the world and trying the best hotels worldwide, this time was the worst experience that will never let me recommend Sheraton any more or even to think about it again.
Spent three days here, it's like staying home. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean and with anything you may need. The location is very convenient if traveling in the European side of Istanbul.
Hotel currently has construction outside so even with the window closed you are interrupted by the sounds. Air con doesn’t work, stayed in 2 different rooms my colleagues in others and all said the same the rooms are far too hot. The window only opens slightly so no free flow of air to cool the room down. My biggest complaint is the smoking, staying on a non smoking floor yet someone else deemed it ok to smoke continuously which made my room absolutely stink and also the corridor outside. I spoke to reception twice and both times instead of stopping the smoker they simply sprayed air freshener in the corridor. Really not good enough. We won’t be staying here again.
A very clean room, great service upon arrival and close to the airport. There is a mall nearby with necessities. quiet and comfortable for short stay. Pricing is a little higher and it is far away from Sultanahmet.
The good: -Beautiful lobby and very friendly staff. -Room had view of water and was very nice. Awesome bed. Bench in bay window was great for looking at nice view. -Gym was excellent. Large and good selection of equipment. -Convenient location near airport. Could be better: -Can’t think of anything!
