A wonderful oasis and a lovely property manager

The house was lovely: the bedrooms large and well appointed, the bathrooms were nice and updated and the house was exactly as described. The management company was wonderful, responsive, and took excellent care of us! We had an amazing time!

Great Location! Great House!

Wonderful stay! Temps dropped so bit chilly that week, but we loved the house & location! It’s a busy street out front, but who cares when you’re right across the street from the OCEAN!!!!! And Easy walking distance into IOP restaurants! Highly recommend! Would stay again!

Updated house close to the beach and nightlife

We really enjoyed our stay. My wife stayed at this house a few years ago and she states they've made many recent updates including the bathrooms. The master bath is amazing - love the steam room. The new pool house is also very cute and great. While no one slept in it, it looked comfortable. The screened in porch was a great place to relax. Close to the beach, has everything you need, management was helpful and friendly.

Spacious, modern well located house

We rented this property even though it had no prior reviews and just a few photos. Well, the photos really understate how well this place is. There is plenty of space with the 4 bedrooms inside and a cabana in the back yard. The two bedrooms upstairs are very large and all together 3 of bedrooms are ensuite. All showers have been upgraded and there is even a steam shower in one of them. The hot tub is very nice and we enjoyed it many times. The kitchen includes all the cooking pots, pans and bowls and eating ware you will need. The internet worked very well during our stay as did the TV/cable. Finally, as for location, it is a very short walk across the street to the beach and several restaurants and a large grocery store are within a 15 minute walk.

Weather was much better this year compared to last year!!Property has seen some water & tear (back deck is sketchy), front upper deck could use nicer patio furniture instead of plastic chairs. Suggest owner purchase another fridge or beverage cooler: main fridge in kitchen is small. House was very clean and property management company is professional & easy to contact. Hot tub had issues that were resolved quickly.Will rent from East Island again!!

Great space but needs a few things addressed

We visited the property in March 2023. Pros: The space was great and well appointed- perfect for families or large groups. The pool and hot tub were lovely and maintained great temperature despite the cold weather. The pool house was really nice. Cons: the house is right on the road and the French doors have not been updated. Not the biggest problem on the first floor, but in the upstairs bedrooms it sounds like you’re sleeping on the road. We’ve stayed on this road before, so we know it’s busy, but better doors would lead to better sound proofing. I’m not a light sleeper, but unless this is changed, I’m not sure I would stay again. The shower in the non-master bath would not get hot water.

2201 Palm blvd stay!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay at 2201 Palm blvd was a beautiful experience. The house is pristine and has such a charming, beachy vibe. It was perfect for our group of 8 girls. Whether we wanted to play music and dance by the pool or lay low and relax on the front balcony, this house gave us all we were looking for! The customer service was great and responded right away if we needed. However, one downside was the plumbers arriving on our first day around 5:45pm just when our bride arrived. They also requested pictures of the water heater the next day, which was a minor inconvenience. BUT East Island Rentals apologized and provided us with a gift card, which was much appreciated! Overall, all the girls LOVED the house and talked so highly of our stay. Thank you!!!

Old School Charm

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location of the house cannot be beat. The house is clean and comfortable but with a few additions and repairs the comfort would be next level. They have possibly the most economical plastic seating around the pool and lack tables and umbrellas. A few changes would make everyone’s pool time more enjoyable. The traffic cone warning of the washout around the pool could be repaired as well as removal of large weeds and general landscaping. The deck could use some love as the nails and boards sticking up are a hazard and caused one minor injury. We had to buy a lighter for the grill as the wires for the starter are hanging out of the bottom. For some reason the hood in the kitchen does not work at all. Could not use the lights or fan while cooking. The renovated bathrooms are beautiful and the beds are comfortable. Would be nice to have tv’s in every bedroom. The AC works very well. The lower front porch was a favorite coffee spot in the morning.

Check in was as easy as just going to the rental office and picking up the keys. Honestly, this house could use some TLC. Beginning with the front yard fence. It is a wooden fence that is in need of straightening and painting. There were a lot of weeds around the front screened in patio. The screen on the door to the patio, had a hole in it. Overall, the screened in porch is very nice. We spent a lot of our time out there due to the unfortunate rain that we experienced every day.The next room would be the living room. This is where things get a little wonky. The hardwood floors in this room, where it leads into the back hallway, which leads you to the two downstairs bedrooms and bathroom, are completely warped. I’m not talking just a little cup of the floorboards, there are unsafe humps in the Flooring. It is almost as if the floor had waves. This is a known problem because there are several screws that have been screwed into the floorboards to try to keep them in place. This patchwork repair did not work. This is kind of a dangerous trip hazard. Especially in a high traffic area in front of the the hallway bathroom. In the hallway bathroom, there is a patch of black mold. Not sure what the source of that water leak is, but that should be repaired ASAP.

Loved the Pool and Convenient Location

Reviewer Comments: My family and I stayed for 7 nights and loved the local restaurants and proximity to the beach and the 25 minute drive to downtown Charleston. The weather was in the 90s and we spent the majority of our time enjoying the pool which was fantastic.Unfortunately, there is no shade in the backyard, so my elderly family members couldn't enjoy the pool area with us for a few days. We ended up finding a rusted canopy tent behind the pool house and propped that up for some shade. Table umbrellas for the two tables in back and a pool umbrella would have made the week much more comfortable for us.The pool net skimmer was also broken and would not stay connected to the pole, so we resorted to having to clean the pool while swimming. Check in is at 4pm, but when we arrived the cleaning ladies were still working in the house and did not finish up until 5pm.Overall I would recommend this house if you're looking for a place in a great location with a pool.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The people at East Island Rentals were great from start to finish. They couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. The house itself was nice but a little beat up. The front door knob was loose when we got there and it completely fell of at one point. One of the kitchen cabinet doors fell off too. We were able to fix both things but only back to the way they were so they're going to come off again. The back deck is old and needs replaced - wear shoes when walking on the deck. The place was generally clean but the couch and chairs in the family room were soiled badly as were many of the chair cushions around the big table in that room. I didn't want to even sit in them. the bathrooms were nice and clean. The living quarters in the pool house weren't the greatest but we used it OK. Overall the experience was OK but for the money the furniture shouldn't be filthy and door knobs and cabinet doors shouldn't be falling off.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a nice stay in the Surf Shack. The location was great! Quick walk to the beach and easy access on and off the isle. For the price the house could have been updated a bit more. We did have issues with hot water in the sinks, especially upstairs. Maintenance was very responsive! The couch was pretty dirty though and there were various broken blinds, missing/broken cabinet hardware and the grill was left dirty. None of this was a dealbreaker for us but for the cost we expected a little more quality/attention to detail. Overall it was a great trip and we would rent from the company again.
