Picturesque Beach House

14 Beachwood East is an amazing home! From the beautiful artwork and comfort of the home to the pool and most especially the beach, I would highly recommend staying there. It is a wonderful home for children, our grandsons ages 5, 3, 2 and 4 months loved the pool and playing on the beach. They were even lucky enough to see dolphins swimming in the ocean! Lastly, the view of the ocean from the house is spectacular. We will always cherish the memories from our vacation!

Family Vacation!

This property was awesome for our first family vacation with our children & our grandchildren - two 4 year olds, one 2 yr old & a 1 yr old. Having the pool on property was so very convenient & a great supplement to the beach which was a convenient walk of about a block. The set up of the bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, pool, etc. were very conducive for the families & their children. The layout allowed for the adults to enjoy time together after the kids were in bed without disturbing them from sleeping. Just a great all-around experience!

Wonderful long weekend with my family

The house was very nice and all my family could ask for during our time at Wild Dunes. It was everything that it was advertised to be and as shown in the photos. I appreciate the host going the extra mile to find a place to leave my boat. One thing to remember is to make reservations at the marina well in advance to park your boat. Thanks to the owner for sharing this house to benefit others. I feel the review on October 31 was very unfair and misleading.

Worst stay ever had through VRBO

We rarely have a bad stay with VRBO properties but if I could give 0 stars I would for this house. When you spend this amount of hard earned money(north of 10K) you expect to have a functioning house that has been maintained. This was NOT the case with this property. Upon check in the door code provided didn't work but they were quick to send one that did work so not a big issue, however, below is a list of items we encountered. 1. House was very misrepresented by pics taken. It states 6 BR's but is really only 4. The 5th & 6th BR's were made from knee walls on other side of closet. They may have measured 5' x 8'. 2. There were 2 sliding glass doors but only one was functional. There was a sign stating the one door wasnt operating properly but you could tell the sign had been up quite some time. When you have 14 people staying in a house it makes using 1 door pretty inconvenient. 3. Washing machine sounded like a plane taking off. It was the loudest noise I have ever heard from a washing machine. 4. In the bunk bed room there is a sign on the wall under window in listing pics. Kind of an odd place for a sign I thought and when we checked in I saw why. There was a hole in the wall about the size of a baseball which I could stick my hand right through. There were also 2 other smaller holes. 5. Kitchen island was literally falling apart. The drawers would slide straight through and towel bar was hanging straight down as one side came undone. 6. We had a decent rain one night and in one of the upstairs BR my son and DIL said water began sripping on them in middle of the night. Again, this wasnt first time it had happened as there were brown circles on the ceiling. Overall, the house was very poorly maintained and dirty and Im sure an eye sore to the beautiful homes surrounding it. The pool was nice as we had 3 grand kids with us and they had a great time playing in it and the view from deck and LR is very good as well. Honestly, that is all I can say positive about this house. If you only value an ocean view then your OK but if you value suitable accommodations as well then STAY AWAY. I only hope someone else doesnt spend their hard earned money on this very poorly maintained, misrepresented house.

Great house and wonderful pool!

The pool ended up being everyone in our group's favorite thing about our stay! It is a lot nicer than it looks in the pictures with lots of green landscaping all around, and you cannot see it from the beach. Also it has a deep end! The house is on a perfect stretch of the beach, away from the many condos in both directions, so there were never many people around us on the beach all week. Everything in the house was very clean, well-kept, and in working order (except they really do need to do something about the sliding doors that are so hard to open and close). We were disappointed to see the late check-in time of "from 4-6pm," but at 2pm, we got a text that the house was ready! The rental company could not have been nicer or more professional or more accommodating. We would definitely stay here again.

Comfortable house in a perfect location!

You can't beat the location - right on the beach, next to a beach access - and a pool in the backyard. We set up for the beach right in front of the house and could get wifi. The beach there is beautiful - lots of sand even at high tide - very spread out - perfect conditions. The management of the property is great - easy to contact, responsive, helpful. Take advantage of the beach gear rental offer (recommend a beach cart - the rental firm was right on time and got our order correctly) The home has everything you need and is very comfortable. It is a full-time rental, and that shows a bit - think of it as well-loved The two twin bedrooms and the bunk room don't have bathrooms associated with them - and the only bathroom that's not in a master is the half-bath - so no shower (this is clearly spelled out in the listing - we weren't surprised by it - but figured I'd point it out). The only negative thing I can call out is the lack of an outdoor shower. There is a shower head with hot and cold water plumbed in - and it works - but there are no sides. So you can rinse off after the beach - but you can't really use it as a shower (which is an issue for the two twins and bunk room). And what's odd is that it is finishable (hot and cold water, drain, and posts ready for walls - I guess for $500 you could make a great outdoor shower ... We had a family reunion - everyone loved it - plenty of room and great location. Wild Dunes is a great resort area

Great for family

Kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pots, dishes, etc., including kid friendly cups and plates. Some problems with a sliding glass door and downstairs air conditioning, but were fixed the next day. Kids loved the pool.

What we expected

The condition of the property was about what I would expect to get for a rental, it was decent. Some areas of the place could use some attention and updating. It would be nice if the pool was heated by default if the water gets below 75°. It was very nice of the owner to call the pool maintenance company to come kick the heat on for us. We would rent again.

Location, Location, Location

Loved the location of this oceanfront property and the pool on the beach was amazing! The house is needing repairs in many places. The sliding glass doors didn't lock and most of the sticks in the tracks were too large to work. The ceramic tile in the bathrooms was loose and crunched when we walked on them. There was mold in the bathtub caulk. The grill was very old and greasy and started a grease fire. My husband had to move the grill away from the pool equipment so that it wouldn't catch on fire. There were stains on the carpet in the bunkbed room and the upstairs. Bedroom furniture and curtains were very old. Pictures missing above bed with just nails sticking out. This house has obvious leaks, rotted wood and peeling paint. The outdoor shower was just a rusty shower head with no enclosure. We paid a large amount of money to rent this house and wished it was maintained better. We thoroughly enjoyed the beach, the neighborhood and the pool. The pool was clean, refreshing and had a deep end that we loved!

Girls Trip

Overall, our group loved the property! Whether we were sitting around the living room catching up, or lounging by the pool there was ample room for all of us to be comfortable. Most of this group has lived ocean front in their life so we're particular about our views and these view did. not. disappoint. Absolutely STUNNING! The flow of the kitchen made cooking and feeding a large group a breeze and the parking was easy for the 12 passenger van we rented. The houses' proximity to necessities (grocery store, liquor store, pharmacy) was close but not too close that you lost the quiet beach house feeling. Ollie and Rufus we're also loved additions to our party! With any beach house there were a few quirks that stuck out. The slider on the doors in the master bedroom behind the kitchen were not functional, the dishwasher worked only when it felt like it and there were enough clover mites (miniscule red bugs) in the backyard to be irritating. However, none of this was an detrimental to our overall joyous experience; we weren't even at the airport before we started planning a return trip! Thank you for sharing your home!

Breathtaking views.

This large spacious home was more than we expected. The ocean views were spectacular and having the private pool was very convenient or evening swims. It was very comfortable for my large family. We will be back.

Worn Out

Property was pretty worn down. A few specific issues. Ice/Refrigerator tasted like cleaning solution One Trash Bag. Door from Driveway to Pool wouldn't lock so it flapped open in the wind constantly. None of the sliding glass doors locked. Back stairs are slightly hazardous with the bottom step being quite a bit taller than other steps. It was clean and had a well stocked kitchen.

Not worth the price tag. Good private location & pool. Broken AC.

I really wanted to love this place, but it sadly fell very short. From the outside it is unattractive which one can look past because of the great ocean views and private pool. However, the inside feels a bit like everything is from 1985. It seems like it was once a duplex turned into a house - the right and left sides are exactly the same minus the kitchen/living room on the 2nd floor (which would make this good for multiple couples traveling together as there are four bedrooms with king beds.) If you are looking for luxury - this is NOT the rental for you. Dated. Toilets that keep running. No elevator for a three story building, AC that was very loud and then completely "exploded". Tired bed linens and towels (no beach towels provided so bring your own! and bring your own trash bags, coffee filters, foil, spices, etc.). My biggest complaint is that the AC and internet failed for an entire day. The guide suggests to keep the AC temp no more than 20 degrees cooler than outside. We followed this rule - only to have the AC "explode" as the service person put it. From checkin it was loud and rumbling, but worked until day three. Two service people came. The 2nd offered a window unit, but he "had to go back and load it on to his truck but he was leaving the island soon"...as if it was a huge imposition to provide?!? So I declined the offer. (I should have taken the window unit!) The imposition was to pay four figures a night for a house and have to sleep/sit in sweat/heat/stickiness! Then the internet deactivated before our checkout time - requiring us to again contact Beachside Rentals. So, three times having to deal with someone on our four night trip. Two other minor annoyances 1) no Sports Card was included in our "welcome package" and 2) getting through Wild Dunes gate even with our guest pass, address + Beachside Rentals confirmation and clear direction - the gate attendant directed each of us to check-in at guest services...which was a waste of time. Guest services is not for this house. So, one star for the great location, one star for the beautiful pool. Negative stars for no AC, no internet, poor communication and customer service by Beachside, old/worn feel of the rental. I would not rent this house again - NOT worth the hefty price tag.

Amazing Property

Oceanfront Oasis is an amazing property. The beach location and fabulous swimming pool are second to none. The home was clean and spacious enough for 15 of us that included four children under six years of age and two people over 80. The kitchen has everything needed to prepare meals and the bedrooms are large, each conveniently having an en suite bathroom. Beachside Vacations was the best vacation home rental agency I have ever used, hands down! This home has everything a vacationer would need and then some. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Wild Dunes but at Oceanfront Oasis. Thank you for providing a home that allowed us to have the best family vacation ever!

Great time

I am hesitant to even publish my fabulous review bc I selfishly want no one else to rent it!! This was a fabulous property, amazing location and wonderful accommodations.
