Hard to believe hotel have such bad house keeping. Much more improvement are needed. Specially with house keeping. Very disappointed with the name called Holiday Inn or ANA... Toilet have this sour smell couldn't get rid of. Even sprayed a bottle of deodorant spray and turned on air purifier still doesn't work. Bathroom can see hairs everywhere even on the wall... Worst hotel I've been stayed.
This hotel has a lovely reception with very helpful staff. But you can't hide behind staff when there are problems with the rooms where you sleep. We had a large room with 2 tiny bathrooms each with its own problem. One the floor flooded if you filled the sink with water, the other also had more minor plumbing issues with old fittings which are in need of an update. The hotel pushes the breakfasts which are huge, so if eating is what you're into - this hotel is for you. Otherwise, for your money I'd try another. The cleaning was not up to scratch either, a first for Japan. Kanazawa is a lovely city to visit with gorgeous gardens, castle, fish market and amazing railway station. There is plenty to choose from.
This hotel have family size room, clean, spacious, comfortable, just the roof is slightly short but overall still good place to stay. Great variety foods on buffet breakfast with good city view. It is 15mins walk from kanazawa station. Good and polite staffs for check in and check out.
Comfortable but small room, great plumbing, Very nice breakfast buffet with lots of choices for western tastes. Good location for seeing the sights. Staff spoke some English and were helpful. Great views from the lobby and restaurant.
It is not easy to find reasonably priced quality hotels in Japan. Somewhat higher range in general even considering the expensive living expense in Japan. Especially in spring. Kanazawa is not a big city, but sizable. As such, ANA Sky is well priced. Kenrokuen is within walking distance. Omi-Cho fish market is around the corner. The reception at 16th floor has a nice view of the city. Breakfast buffet is fresh and diverse. Japanese omelette needs a brave mind to cut and swallow as it is too perfect. Nice ijakawa restaurants are nearby. One recent trend is foreign patrons who cannot speak Japanese flock together at a couple of restaurants with English menu. They do not overcharge unlike some Chinese restaurants in China. Nonetheless, the price tends to be a little bit different.
The rooms are fine; its a nice surprise since the entrance from the main street is a bit bizzar. the breakfast is terrific we've enjoied it very much. the location could be better but its in the center of town,
The Kanazawa Sky Holiday Inn is located just across the street from Omi-cho Market on the upper floors over the Meitetsu-M'za department store. Bus lines run right outside the door and the train station is a 15-20 minute walk away. You can walk to Kenrokuen Gardens as well as the Kanazawa Castle, both of which are prime spots for cherry blossom viewing. Or you can walk to the Ando River where locals go for their hanami. Or walk to the gold leaf museum. Kanazawa is an easy city to walk and the ANA Holiday Inn is central to all the sights. To top it off, the hotel serves a fantastic breakfast buffet, with ultra-fresh sashimi and lots of other goodies. Stick to the Japanese breakfast items for an authentic flavor. In the basement of the department store, you will find all kinds of groceries as well as prepared foods, omiyage, and sit down restaurants. Book the Japanese Suite in the hotel for a memorable stay.
This hotel was a pleasant surprise. The staff, amenities, views and location could not have been better. I was here for three nights and the manager of the front office, Mr. Yujiro Minami, and the rest of the hotel staff from the moment I checked in saw to it that my stay was as comfortable as could be. The room was amazing - a corner suite with windows on both sides with a view of the mountains. The layout of the room made you feel like it was more of your own private apartment than an impersonal hotel room. The hotel is situated on the upper floors of a commercial building. The Omicho fish market is just (literally) across the street, and it is an easy walk to the castle and Kenrokuen gardens. The room was so inviting that I was seriously tempted to extend my stay - but time would just not allow (this visit). I will soon be back though! Mr. Yujiro Minami and his staff could not have been more kind, considerate, respectful and mindful of their guests needs and wants.. eager and willing to assist in any way.
This is a well-located hotel in Kanazawa, and that is its main asset. It was a good base to explore the city from. Inside it's pretty dated, the bathrooms in particular could do with being updated, as well as the throws on the beds and pictures on the walls, some of which had marks on them. It seems expensive for what it is but having said that we struggled to find sensible alternatives when we were looking so maybe that's how they get away with it! The reception staff speak hardly any English, which seemed surprising for a Holiday Inn, and breakfast wasn't good. If we were visiting Kanazawa again, we'd try to stay elsewhere, but it did the job for our two night stay.
Hotel is walking distance from Kanazawa Station. Across from Omi-Cho Market. A department store and mall with many eateries adjacent to hotel. Good size room with twin beds and view of Kanazawa. All rooms with queens and kings were not available. Vent in bathroom had dust accumulation and also dust was caked onto top of clothesline dispenser. Tiles…mildew between. No ventilation fan in bath – leave door ajar or it just gets musty.
