This is an ideal location for anyone visiting the Porkies. The staff were very friendly and helpful. All the accommodations were excellent. The view of Lake Superior was gorgeous. We even did some rock hunting!

Nice location. Lakeview room had a nice view of Lake Superior. Room was clean. Staff was friendly. Continental breakfast was sufficient- offered English muffins, scrambled eggs, sausage patties & links, cold cereal, oatmeal, bagels, waffles, juice & coffee. Would definitely stay again.

More parking, person parked truck with trailer along back one night and no.kne had room to park. Hot tub is great just get sand out of bottom. We enjoyed our stay and will be back! Loved fire on the beach out last night!! Kenzie from restaurant was great!

Check-in staff person was rude; all other staff were friendly though sometimes appearing disorganized. Parking was adequate, view and room were excellent! Food was good to very good! Probably I would have given this a 4.5 star rating if it wasn’t for the check-in person who had no customer service skills.

Kindness goes a long way, wish we'd gotten some.

Check in was sketchy after the front desk attendant yelled, "I'll be there in a minute." in a very grumpy tone. We then waited for 10 minutes. I asked for a restaurant recommendation and she said, "here", referring to their onsite restaurant that now closed in 15 minutes. Once at the restaurant, a server yelled from across the room, "we're closing soon, so go sit over there so we can try to get to you". Everyone in the room turned to look at us, it was very embarrassing. Had the front desk woman not taken so long, we would have had over a half hour before they closed. It was all just very unprofessional. Kindness goes a long way, and we didn't see much of it at this hotel.

We staying for more than a week, in a clean, comfortable room with a nice view. I applaud the green concept of not changing towels each day. Housekeeping was responsible when we needed to change a bathmat, too. The staff were friendly and well-trained. The first night in the restaurant was chaotic, as they were understaffed and learning a new computer system. It was a long wait, but in a couple of days they were back on top of things.

• When I arrived at around 6:15 pm, the parking lot was completely full, so I had to park on the lawn as all the spaces were filled. After checking in, I learned that the WiFi was terrible (at least in my room), the towels were old (thin) and there was someone else’s hair was on bathroom floor. Yuck! Despite it being 80 degrees outside, the AC in the room had been set to 62, but it felt much colder, so I had to turn the heat on just to make it bearable. After I had gone to bed, a jarring sound woke me up at about 9:30pm. It sounded like a motor that was revving in idle. It literally made the furnishings in the room (114) vibrate. I called the front desk to learn that it was actually a Jacuzzi on the floor above me. She actually said she could hear the noise over the phone. She also said they have had multiple complaints from other guests in the same room in the past, but the manager would do nothing about it. Since the hotel was fully booked, the option of moving to another room was off the table. Since there is no way I could have slept in that room, I elected to check out only a few hours after checking in! On top of that, since there was no WiFi available in my room, I could not go online to find another hotel. I had to drive, at night, to the nearest town to get a cell signal to book another room that was about an hour away. Absolute insanity!
