Been staying here since 90s.. Rooms dated but they are clean. Bathroom no black ugly molds.. Staff friendly and same goes to the security guards! Good location as well. WAlking distance to makan area..
worth the price.. room is comfy and they have smoking room.. complimentary soft drinks and chips. 1st time in hotel experience.. quiet place to spend the night.. staffs are really friendly too.. ala carte breakfast provided..
Probably nobody will spend more than one or two nights in Ipoh, and therefore this accommodation is just fine although not very centrally located. Therefore I asked at the train station whether they could keep my luggage for one night - I don't know if there's a real locker, they kept my stuff at their Office, and I was fine. The rooms at Regalodge are ok, but nothing special. There is no breakfast buffet but they prepare something tasty from the breakfast menu to your liking. Not much to choose from, but tasty.
Located in not so busy street. It's a decent hotel and the price is reasonable. Book the Regal suite and check in was breeze. Rooms were large and clean with complimentary mini bar. Only Pillows were too soft and uncomfortable. Breakfast was nice although there it was al carte not buffet as presumed. Walking distance to the Store and Ipoh Parade etc.
-Central location, walking distance to dim sum street and Ipoh Parade. -Complimentary mini bar. -For those who are driving, windshield is being cleaned daily which is a nice touch. -Only downside is the water heater is inconsistent.
Regalodge is a decent and convenient hotel that is priced reasonably. Basic but comfortable hotel with clean and well maintained rooms. Unfortunately the family reflexology center on the ground floor is closed. That would have been a nice touch after a busy day at the office.
It's our first time driving to Ipoh, and though not a long distance from where we came from (Melaka), we were having quite an exhausting day and by the time we reach Regalodge Hotel, it's already near dinner time. Yes, we are super tired, super hungry, and everybody is super grumpy. When my GPS points to the building in front of us, with a big pinhead identifying it as Regalodge Hotel, we were so disappointed with it. The area surrounding it looks old (we thought we are supposed to live in the city area), the hotel building looks more like a cheap motel or a hotel wannabe, and when we drive in towards the carpark, which is directly in front of the hotel, there are just a few lots and it is almost full. Damn! The reviews from other guests seems nice but why does it look so .... undesirable ? Anyway, we are very tired and whatever it is, we'll just have to make do with it. Greeting us at the front desk was the Duty Office Tony. He was very friendly, very helpful, and honestly, very understanding. He seems to be aware that all of us are very tired, and as far as he can, he tried to minimize the number of forms we need to fill, and take charge and help us as much as possible. Then, after handing us the keycard, the big surprise came in. He said "In the room, you'll have bottles of mineral water, coffee and tea, and also toiletries, and they are all complementary for your use.... there is a minibar, and inside there are potato chips, can drinks ...." Which at this point, my ears shut off as all these are mostly expected from hotels. ".... they are all free and before you leave for your tour tomorrow, just empty the minibar and we'll restock for you again ..." FREE ??!! Did I hear it wrong? Items in minibars are free, and will restock again since we are staying there for 2 nights !! I double-confirmed with him, and Tony nodded with a wide smile, as it seems to him all guests may have acted like how I did . I'm not that much of a cheapskate, but it's usually the small gestures that will make others happier. Anyway, the passageway to the room is a little bit dark, but the lightings does make it look kinda nice, though I still prefer it to be better lit. And when we go into the room, WOW, it's big and spacious (ours is a Family Suite with 2 x Queen-sized bed), clean and looks very welcoming. The toilets are clean and well-kept, and overall, it looks pleasing. Only thing I don't like about it is when we shower using the shower head, the tap at the bottom (for the bathtub), will run together with it also. I find it very wasteful of water, and no matter what I do, I just can't turn it off. Water pressure is fine, but I prefer to turn it off and not waste water at all. Remember I told you that we were tired and hungry when we reach there? Well, the tireness seems to wear off as we love the room we're assigned to, but the hunger still lingers. I'm not going to drive, so we just asked Tony to recommend any nearby eateries. Tony recommends a few nice places, and then he whips out a piece of paper, and inside contains ALL the nearby restaurants, coffee shops, and whatever we need ! They are just nearby the hotel, and really, in just less than 10 minutes of walking, we already found our place for our dinner ! Overall, though this may not be a 5-star hotel, I'll give it a 5-star rating, and YES, I'll definitely stay here again should I come to Ipoh in the future.
Nice, quite and clean maintenance located at strategic place with walking distance can reach famous restaurant of Chicken noodle, Curry Mee, Salted Chicken, Purple Cane Restaurant, Night Market, ...etc.
This is actually my 3rd visit to this hotel. I love it for : the good rates from AGODA, the clean rooms, and location. You can walk to almost anywhere from here. Bear in mind this is not the 'old city ' area near Padang or Concubine Street . Nevertheless, Regalodge is very near to all Dim Sum eateries, namely, Foh San, Chef Fatt, Yoke Fook Moon and Ming Court . Room is not very spacious but enough to spend a night or two. Another plus point in this hotel ( not found in other hotels ) are the items inside the minibar. They are all free !! A small packet of potato chips, one Coca Cola, one 100 Plus , 2 mineral water. Also included is a water boiler with free Chek Hup Ipoh White Coffee, 3in 1 tea. I have made up mind to stay here whenever I visit Ipoh.
I chose this hotel because if it's close proximity to where I needed to be. I am not so familiar with Ipoh. This hotel is located right smack in town. Close to the railway station (good if you are coming by ETS), very close to the Ipoh General Hospital and walking distance to Green Town shops. I find this very convenient as you can walk here for your dinner. You have an array of food stalls at night by the 'MBI padang' (city hall field). At a very reasonable price this hotel offer you a lot. My room was surprisingly modern furnished. Later I found out that it was recently refurbished. The bed is very comfortable. It was quite big in size. Bigger than some of a more expensive hotels. Better still apart from the usual tea coffee 2 bottles of mineral water complementary, they add 2 cans of soft drinks and a packet of crisp for you to enjoy. My room comes with breakfast for 2. Breakfast was good. They don't have buffet but they offer you ala carte. I was really impress by the selction on the menu. You virtually can pick anything around the world;). All in all I had a pleasant stay. I will comeback here the next time I have to visit Ipoh.
