We booked on the reviews, rating and photos as shown on websites prior to booking. On arrival the reception area felt like a ghost reception and and a very disturbing smell. Our second indication was the broken down elevator, then on walking to our room, overflowing cigarette ashtray bins, an iron mark burnt into the carpet and debris throughout the walking area to our room. The room was unclean from the stained bedding, mould on the bathroom walls, open drains in the shower, vents that were heavy with dust and exposed electrical wiring. The breakfast was not up to standard either. Everything was lukewarm and unclean plates and cups. This was a very unpleasant accommodation and stay.
We stayed for 1 night at the hotel . Kinda old hotel but still acceptable for staying there . The room condition is still good tho . The breakfast is fine but if u want to go outside u might want to check new holly wood restaurant for breakfast . They have so many choices and u really need to go early as the place hv their own crowd . It’s near the hotel around 5 mins drive . And of course nasi vanggey restaurant . Also nearby the hotel . Meaning that the hotel is so convenient place to stay .
Ipoh (during Xmas break) was fully booked. We are happy to get a room at the Heritage. From my experience, Heritage was an "ok" hotel. It has dated furniture but well kept. The bathroom was slightly modern. The room is large. We got a good bed so we slept like a baby. But my sister and dad got a worn out bed that slumps down when sitting or lying down -- that doesn't sound like a good sleep right?!! Anyway, food is 3 or 2 star. However, since it was full house, the servers and chefs were excellent on their toes clearing tables, adding more food on peak hours. Bravo to that. Will i come here again? -- i may, only if i get the No. 320 room (which has a good bed).
2nd time here, but the condition seemed to have deteriorated from my last stay a few months back. It was dirty, rubbish on the carpet outside the rooms, near the elevator, mouldy tiles in the bathroom. The carpet in front of the elevator was also peeling off, risk of tripping if one is not careful. Wardrobe door was also stuck. Plus point - staff was helpful and quick response by maintenance when we highlighted an issue with water flow in the bathroom.
For a three star hotel, I was very impressed with the driveway and the spacious lobby. The rooms are spacious too with comfortable beds and the basic necessities. However, the shower curtain had many black mouldy spots. Stayed on the 7th floor and had a good view of the town and the nearby Perak Tuft Club where the Trainers can be seen training the horses in the morning. Good view. On the 2nd night when we came back from our dinner, my friend found his room filled with cigar smell and we could see smoke lingering in the room. Called the hotel reception and they didn’t even bother to come up to investigate. 15 minutes later a staff came to the room and handed my friend a card key to change to another room. On the last day after our breakfast when I returned to the room, I too found my room filled with cigarette smell. Fortunately, we were checking out. Breakfast at the 2nd floor cafe was simple fare but the pastries were not fresh and the coffee only lukewarm. The egg station also do not have the favourite “sunny side up”. They only served pre done half-boiled eggs and omelette. Reason was they had already beaten the eggs for the omelette. Overall, I had a good stay although the nearest shopping mall is about 1 km away and there is nothing you could do at the hotel vicinity. For the price we paid for this hotel, it is what to expect and can not compare with a 5 star hotel. Recommendation: Spa (massage service) at the side entrance is lousy. Don’t bother to try it. Use Uber or Grab to travel to the town. It’s cheap (not more than 10 ringgit) for a 6 seater or not more that 5 ringgit for normal ride.
Well hotel is one of the old hotel in Ipoh, and location is quite out of town. I booked for 1 night , but surprisingly room was big. Bed sheets and towels need to be changed. Hotel only offer local food and breakfast was typical local. We went to eat to town during our stay there. But just for sleep its fine.
Heard a lot of negative comments about this place and was a little apprehensive about booking them. It was a Saturday and most places were taken up. Was pleasantly surprise that we were given a clean room that looks like they have redone it. Plus point was the bathroom, clean but minimalistic. Next day the breakfast can be considered decent if you are not expecting a gourmet meal. Told the kitchen staff on duty that they should serve bean sprouts instead of normal greens, as Ipoh is a place for one of the best bean sprouts to go with your noodles. Location??? Though not in dead centre of the City, it can be easily reach as it is on the straight road down. If the weather is kind enough, you can easily have a good 15 mins walk and you are at the edges of all the foodies and goodies...
We had a good experience at Heritage Hotel. The hotel has most of the facilities, except few small issues like bed sheet was not clean, towel was very old, broken chair was found on the walkway... These small issues can be improved.
I knew this Hotel is not well rated but have stayed here before. Reason for choice was location because we were attending a nephew's wedding and the hotel was close to tgeir residence and function at the Royal Oedak Golf Club. However the place is badly in need of a total makeover. The state of the structure akso seems to percolate down the facilities. Rooms are barely average and the outside of the window glass is algae/ moss covered. We decided to have afternoon coffee and snacks at the lounge cafe. Coffee wasnt hot and our club sandwich took 25 minutes to be served and it wasn't anything of a club sandwich Ive seen before from the contents to the bread in the sandwich...ugggh. Definitely not staying here anymore.
Since we booked the rooms a week before the long weekend, it was pricey, to say the least. At first look, the hotel has presence and stature, but after our stay, our perception changed!! At the Reception, I asked for 2 access cards to our room, the front desk said okay, but when we reached the room, they gave us only 1 card. The room was spacious. Why? Because the twin-beds were so near to the entrance/bathroom which created the "gaping distance" between the beds and the windows drapes at the other end of the room! The beds were low-lying, the bed-linen were old and worn-out, almost egg-coloured (no longer white colour) and the pillows extremely soft. The room comes with 2 bottles drinking water, coffee satchets/creamer/sugar and cups for 2, and plastic stirrers (not spoons). Bathroom has 1 bottle body wash, 1 soap, 1 shower cap and 2 miserably worn-out bath towels, with straggles of loose ends hanging from some of its edges. Clammy and flat to the touch. Also egg-coloured (white colour's gone). When my friend went and asked the Reception for a toothbrush, they told her to pay cash RM2.45 and said they would bring it to our room. And so we waited from 8pm, and waited.... the toothbrush never came. In the middle of the night, the room blacked out and the electricity tripped, gave us a fright! We found out we did not slot the card into the bracket (near the door), haha! Breakfast was okay, usual Malaysian food. We will not return to this hotel again. Such a waste, the hotel has history and has aged well but it desperately needs an upgrade and a total refurbishment of its whole interior....
