Very simple but comfortable room with great bathroom, cozy downstairs bar, and friendly, super helpful hosts who will cook a hot breakfast to order and volunteer the most scenic way to drive wherever you are headed within walking distance of several pubs and small, local restaurants close to Queen's Park and the Southland Museum. Gerrard's Restaurant closed on Friday night, at least in the off-season, which was a surprise -- a fun stay in an historic Victoria hotel.
We had a cute little room at the end of the hall. The bathroom was nice, and the bed was comfortable. It certainly is one of the most unique stays we've had. I didn't have any trouble sleeping, but my husband didn't feel comfortable in such an old building. The view wasn't great (in fact, it was terrible). The location was good because it was a short walk through the alley to get to a strip with a ton of restaurants. We wouldn't stay again only because he felt uncomfortable and couldn't sleep well - but the people were so nice and charming. If you don't mind old buildings that truly are unique, I would highly recommend this hotel.
