We have visited this hotel many times and it improves every year. The cuisine is first class as are the staff. Property has been and is presently undergoing improvement and extension works both to the buildings and the surrounding grounds. Works will be completed by June this year but have not caused any disturbance to our enjoyment during visit.
We had a wonderful stay. Food was excellent and the room was very comfortable and had a large balcony with a view of the mountains. The spa was also very good and it's advisable to book in advance. There are 3 outdoor pools and an inside pool to choose from and I just loved the natural pool. Service was good. They allow dogs in the hotel which is ok but they shouldn't have access to the bar and dining area. I don't find it very hygienic sitting on a chair where a dog has sat before. The hotel is 5 minutes from the Seefeld's centre. Seefeld offers good hiking and it's a lovely place for walks.
This hotel is living in the past. There is no room for people who for example do not necessarily want to adhere to a specific dress code. Old labels are determining the current policy. I am a successful entrepreneur and I visit several hotels in the upper segment every year. This hotel has all the ingredients which can lead to a successful concept, but unfortunately management has only eyes for old money and not for the nouveau riche.
An exceptional resort we visit Astoria for the last seven years and everything exceeds our expectations. Unbelievable people friendliness kindness and an exclusive atmosphere. Tip of the place cuisine and the "maître de table", they make you feel like home, you feel there is no better place for a family retreat and then when you leave you get this feeling of bitterness you encounter when you part from a beloved one.
Despite workmen on site with major building etc ..... this family run 5 star hotel is or can be good value but not cheap. We loved it - the hotel amenities are as published / wide ranging / modern & very well looked after by the team members. From arrival we were welcomed / shown round the hotel & our room. All very good & relative to the choice of room chosen from range available. Half board food is exactly as published with only drinks / refreshments to pay for - quality / presentation & choice of food was exceptional as published but not a la carte. Daily menu's were delicious everyday with the Friday evening desert buffet being just one of the highlights !? Service from the whole team throughout all departments was attentive / measured & very effective for a 5 star that encourages relaxation as published etc. Excellent. Seefeld town centre itself is very easy to walk too but if preferred taxi's were cheap / free tourist bus's accessible for piste areas etc / train station for Innsbruck direction or Germany within 3 stops in opposite direction again within walking distance or taxi etc. Hotel does have some timed car services for drop off to ski areas too - we're sure they would be flexible if asked etc. Plenty of things to do for skiers & shoppers ! as well as learn to ski if interested - we tried Nordic skiing - enjoyed & survived !?. Spa & extensive indoor & outdoor relaxation facilities / service were all exceptional - massages that ended up being the highlights amongst many other choices available. Overall - a delight , that certainly warrants a visit if only for a few days in Austria .... you would not be disappointed. Enjoy
We've come numerous times over the last ten years to this superb hotel. A unique hotel with continuity in quality staff, rooms, food, services .... and yet continuously investing in the property. A hotel where we feel good as soon as we arrive and feel like we are coming home.
A family trip with two young children. We had a great stay, making use of the nearby piste (just a few minutes walk/ski away) and the swimming pool. The breakfast and dinner were excellent on the half-board option and food is an important part of any holiday for us and we ate very well indeed! The staff were very helpful and friendly. We made regular use of the hotel's shuttle to Gschwandtkopf for skiing (5 minutes away) and they were accommodating in picking us up from the piste at short notice when not busy. It's worth saying there were few children staying at the hotel and the hotel had a more adult feel - which worked perfectly well for us.
I did not stay at this hotel so I can only review the Spa and wellness Area. The Hotel is very well located no problems at all to get there. First thing I recognized was a huge construction site where a completely new Building is growing, later I was told, that they will extend their huge Spa Area and offering 50 more Rooms and Spa Suites from Mid 2017 on. Once you have entered the Main Building, you wouldn't guess there is such a huge Construction Site nearby, no noise and even the Nice view is not affected by the construction going on because the new Building is beside the old one and not beyond or in front. The Price of EUR. 55.00 for the Spa Day Use is very fair for the offering provided. The Price includes: Access for an entire Day (10AM-8PM) to The Spa Area which includes Gym, 3 Saunas, 3 Steam Baths, one Infrared Cabin, a communicative Area with a small Bar and a fireplace, relaxing Rooms with heated Waterbeds, in and outdoor Pool (well heated) as well as a 20m heated outdoor pool for swimming. Slippers and Bathrobe Refreshments (fruits, Nuts Cakes) A Few Wellness Drinks A light Lunch Buffet which was lovely. After Paying at the Reception I was picked up by the Spa Manager who introduced everything to me in a very kind and polite way. The Atmosphere was very Calm. Minors under the age of 16 are not allowed to Access the Spa. Everything was very clean! Towels and Showers are available all over the place. Absolutely worth the Money, thanks!
Always a fantastic hotel - at least our 12th consecutive year which says it all. Lovely staff, fantastic food, wonderful spa area - and loved the new outdoor swimming pool and salt water jacuzzi. My wife is learning German and the staff throughout proved to excellent and patient language teachers as well.
Heaven in snow is hard to describe as the appropriate vocabulary has not been invented. Spacious, luxurious, warm, tender, light and bright, friendly, tasty, freezing cold, lots of snow, fun, hapiness ... PERFECT !
