It needs information to find a way to go there without car. But it was totally nice to stay there. Room was clean perfectly, wifi was fast enough, restaurant was very nice, all staffs were friendly. And high quality breakfast. But there are several dogs around hotel. They can disturb your sleep little bit
We stayed for two nights in October, mid-week. We were upgraded to a lovely suite overlooking the fountain with high ceilings. The room was well appointed and the bed was comfortable. This was my second stay at the hotel. Breakfast was extremely plentiful and delicious. The hotel manager was quick to respond to a small issue in our room. We would stay again.
What a beautiful hotel. The scenery was stunning & hats off to the fantastic staff at the bar & on reception. A few picky criticisms, the rooms are a little functional in decor. It did feel a little like a business hotel setting which I guess is personal preference. The gym was also poor, dingy lighting & a little smelly as based in the basement. At breakfast they weren’t well staffed & the arrival of a cruise ship tour meant breakfast was totally depleted & the staff very stressed & running around. But the food was fantastic, dinner in the restaurant is a must & breakfast, when it was available, was yummy. I can’t stress enough what a beautiful setting for a hotel & fab location for the Italian lakes!
What a lovely hotel, in a great position for visiting the lakes, and with beautiful views from the terrace. Comfortable room and helpful, welcoming staff, and an excellent breakfast. We stayed for three nights and will definitely return, thoroughly recommend this hotel.
Stayed at this hotel for a week to explore the Italian Lakes. What a gem!! We stayed in a beautiful room with high ceilings overlooking the fountain. The room was clean, the huge bed comfortable and the bathroom spotless. Fresh towels and bed linen every day!! Breakfast was included..... fresh fruit, croissants, pastries, scrambled eggs and bacon.... everything you would want. The hotel staff were friendly and courteous especially the assistant manager Francesco. He took time out of his busy day to sit with us and help us to book tickets, plan our journeys and advise us on where to park, train stations and restaurants etc. We couldn't have wished for a better base to enjoy our trip. Thank you so much!!
A base for four nights for some exploring and what an amazing one! Nice spacious room, friendly reception staff and lovely breakfast. A convenient base for exploring Varese, Lake Como etc. Sitting out on the terrace enjoying the evening sun is pleasant, other than the road noise from below. There seem to be a few negative comments regarding breakfast - we found it to be adequate; cereals, various croissants, fresh fruit, ham, cheeses and cake(!!) Yes the coffee machine splutters a little but it makes nice coffee! It certainly made for a pleasant base at the cusp of the off season, whether it's crazily busily during Summer I wouldn't like to say. Good quality wifi (which was necessary for us as we needed to work whilst away) and a very pleasant stay. We didn't try the outdoor pool but believe some of the other guests did. Nice gardens to stroll in too.
We stayed in this authentic 18th Century manor, surrounded by lush sculptured gardens and far reaching views and felt really spoiled, especially when having breakfast on the terrace. The location was great, just a short drive from Lake Lugano, Lake Como and Lake Maggiore, it was a perfect position to discover this enchanting Italian region
my wife and I planned a 4 day trip to celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary, I decided on the Porro Perelli due to the reviews on here and its excellent location. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, the beakfast provided was great, a large selection is on offer including bacon and scrambled egg. We eat twice in the Bistro restaurant, the meals there were small but tasty, and although they appear to be pricy initially, once you start comparing other establishments the prices are about average. Our deluxe room was very spacious and well equipped, room service every day to sort the room out too! only disappointment was the shower that was scaled up so the body jets didn't work, apart from that all was very good I very much recommend you stay here. Highlight of the trip was going to Mount San Salvatore on lake Lugano, go up the funicular, the view is beyond breathtaking!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Villa Porro Pirelli. The staff were friendly and the hotel is lovely. The breakfasts were excellent and we enjoyed our evening meal on our first night. It's a great location for visiting Lake Lugano and Lake Como. A couple of things would've made the stay a 5 star experience. We felt that the shower facility was dated and not in keeping with the rest of the bathroom, it definitely was tatty and dated. We also were disappointed with the quality of cleaning in the room, for example the floor was very dusty under the bed and appeared not to have been cleaned for a while. However we would recommend a stay here particularly as the rest of the experience was excellent.
We have just returned from a weeks half board at this fantastic hotel.Room was lovely with a garden view.Food in the bistro was really good. All of the staff were really helpful but I have to mention Mauro who was the maitre de who always appeared to be on duty but nothing was too much trouble for him.If you are looking for a relaxing holiday in a stunning hotel within near location to the Italian lakes then this is for you
