Pool closed for the whole time we were there. Place was full and temps up in the high 20's not impressed at all. Place was ok apart from that and staff were fine. Shame about the pool, if the site is full open it for everybody.

I'd even say it's good value. You know that feeling of dread in the pit of your stomach when you book online and it's cheap? This one is a nice surprise. Family and pet friendly, nice atmosphere, but there are a few minor things to be aware of... Although linen is provided, you may have to make up the beds yourself. The kitchen lacks an oven (but has a microwave). Lastly, there is no soap of any description! You will need to bring your own kitchen cloth, dishwashing liquid/tablets for dishwasher, spray cleaner, bar of soap, and tea towels etc as you are required to leave the apartment clean.

We stayed here in 2009 when it had only been open a few months. Was a bit disappointed when we returned a couple of weeks ago and found a few annoying problems. Bath plug did not fit, sink tap was loose, extractor fans in bathroom and toilet did not work, steam from shower set fire alarm off, bedside table was on a slant, outside patio and garden furniture were dirty. However, the location is lovely and it was very quiet and peaceful. Beds were clean and comfortable. Didn't try the restaurant. Handy to have a supermarket just across the road. Richelieu is within 15 minute walk. We ate at the hotel on the square on two of the evenings as it was the only restaurant open. Service was friendly and food was ok. We also ate one night at Le Cardinal opposite the park gates and this was extremely good and around the same price as the hotel. Would stay again at Relais if we were revisiting the area as the location is so perfect.

We stopped here for three nights on our way to Azay. The accommodation is basic but clean and spacious. The pool is a good size and we always managed to find a sun bed and some shade. There is a play area, table tennis table, pool table and plenty of outdoor space for children to cycle and play. We very much enjoyed our stay. The only thing missing was a place onsite to buy basics such as bread or milk.

We decided to break our journey from the South of France with a final flourish in the French countryside - what a mistake to make 1. Booked for 4 people but only bed made was the double bed - after an tiring day in the car, I really needed that! 2. No shop on site - it's self catering for goodnes sake - not even a pint of milk! 3. Hotel info says oven & microwave (so I bought our food to have an evening meal) turns out it is microwave only - no oven and only big enough to do 2 meals at a time - ended up throwing away a lovely Lasagne as not microwavable - had to dash out and buy ready meals and have dinner in shifts - nice :-( 4. Fridge was not that cool - hence why we had to throw away the Lasagne 5. Dirty toilet floor 6. Extractor fan not working in bathroom 7. Shower broken - sprayed everywhere 8. Bath took ages to drain - shower caused water to rise to ankle height by 2nd person Also site gives impression you have a home style cottage - pokey beyond belief - not in the least bit restful. We spoke to reception the next day - what a stinky attitude - the lady stated the because we had booked via - that is why they didn't make up the beds!

Our family of five stopped overnight here on the way to the South of France. Value for money with a good location and a large supermarket within walking distance - although we were a little surprised to pass a nuclear power station on the way there (about 30kms away)! English-speaking staff on reception. The apartment was clean and well equipped although a little hot when we were there without A/C or fans. The pool was ok although busy and we couldn't initially find anywhere to sit when we arrived; the paddling pool was closed. A bit of a hassle for an overnight stay to have to make up beds on arrival and fully clean on departure. No cars are allowed on the site but there is a secure car park. Not luxury but everything we needed for a good overnight stopover.

This resort is lovely and very easy to get to along with beautiful scenery on the way. No cars allowed on the grounds which makes it safer for the children running around. The "apartment" itself is small and rustic but perfect because we were outdoors the whole time. Pets allowed! There is a pool, children's playground, restaurant, spa and children's playhouse. All units come with a large patio deck. Recommend bringing toiletries and maybe fans if hot. If not, there is a large grocery store down the street. Don't expect luxury but do expect all the necessary items to have a wonderful weekend getaway. The kitchen has everything you need! Small sofa bed but all in all would stay here again! Definitely!

Family with 3 small kids. We rented a chalet, which was very comfortable and good value. We used the site as a base to see some of the Loire Valley - nicely centrally located for that. All the facilities were fine, the pool was excellent and well kept. Even though is was really busy there was lots of space and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Very few other non-french guests, which was nice for us! Just to be able to walk down into Richelieu and experience some evenings in this gem of a historical town. Perfect.

We stayed there for third time. It is good value for money for families or group of friends. It is not lux but we did not miss anything. It is simple and providing everything you need for few days. It is basically kind of holiday village.

A surprise discovery in the Loire. Needed a night stay and the 'log cabin' style accommodation was delightful. Set in blocks of four apartments each with its own private seating area the overall quality of the accommodation was good. Beds were very comfortable and accommodation was spacious. The pool was clean and well maintained , a good size for families. We arrived after a storm so there seemed to be a paddling pool for younger children but it was not open. This accommodation is self catering. There is an onsite bar and restaurant . The restaurant must be booked in advance. Staff are lovely , the meals are pricey but delicious and there are kids meals. The 'cabins' are set in beautiful gardens and secluded woodland. There is a central 'park' area where children can play sports and games.
