Good location, but that is as far as the positives go. Checked out a day early. Hotel is very poorly maintained. Windows that rattle, extractors fans that don't work, mould in the shower, damp and peeling ceilings, all the floor boards are creaking, very warm carpets. The hotel is a good size and has a lot of potential, but is in dire need of renovation.

The staff were very friendly, polite, and very helpful. The room was clean enough, but lots of the bathroom features didn't work very well, such as just about no water coming out of the taps. Overall, low cost and enjoyable.

As per previous reviews, it could do with a refurb but for the cost, we feel it was good value for money. Great location, lovely views from our room and close to local shops and restaurants. One suggestion I would make is concerning the lack of available power sockets in the room. These could be changed out to combined usb and socket to allow the charging of phones and using the kettle/ hairdryer etc. quick fix. Parking was a bit confusing, it states that hotel has a limited car park but it isn’t managed by the hotel. Perhaps a map of parking options be included on the info sheet given at check in would be useful. When you have been travelling for 5 hours, you just want to get settled asap Overall we had a lovely stay in ilfracombe.
