We have just returned from this hotel having stayed here numerous times, but sadly this will be our last visit. There is nothing further to add to previous comments on the decor or the fact that it’s obviously in need of an update. This has been the case for a number of years. However in previous years this could be overlooked as the standard of the staff the service the food the location and clientele all helped to override any complaints. Unfortunately this is not the case anymore. Fact is there are still some very good staff remaining particularly in the dining room, but others have some way to go.The food is still ok. The hotel has resorted to charging for whatever and wherever it can. The clientele albeit a three star hotel has declined to such a standard that almost anything goes. This includes excessive drunkenness swearing and women scuffling over a an umbrella poolside. A non existent dress code in the dining area with scroats sitting gorging on overloaded plates of food whilst wearing cheap sports clothing and baseball caps sideways, Children being allowed to wonder aimlessly around hot food drinks and full plates. Families being unable to open or close a room door without it slamming with an almighty crash bang. We were particularly disappointed in the fact that we were locked out of our room on numerous occasions as the swipe key card had been diactivated. The charge for a safe and a fridge has become far too expensive as has the charge for a late check out room. You would have thought after being returning regular customers after having numerous issues with access to our room that the late check out could have been wavered but o no, another chance to rinse us for a few more euros was not to missed...All in all we were very disappointed this time around. It’s such a shame but enough is enough. At this point there is the usual management standard reply of “we’re sorry we haven’t met the standards expected we hope you will return and give us another chance etc etc” But it appears all thoughts have turned to getting what they can whilst they can from whatever clientele they can before the hotel is finally upgraded.
We were very pleasantly surprised by this hotel and had a great holiday ! Ok, maybe a little tired, but rooms great, beds comfortable, views from almost every balcony, water hot ! The food is amongst the best we have had from a buffet ! OK, maybe the beer is a tad pricey - 3 euros for an unmarked glass which looks like an English half, which deteriorates to a 175 ml ? or maybe 250 ml glass in the showbar. Pool is warm, clean and comfortable with loads of umbrellas and we always managed a choice of sunbed whatever time of day. Staff and entertainers all lovely, and all the kids looked happy. There is a gate from the pool to the amazing beach next door ( Atzara ?), sandy, calm and a half a dozen bars ( Very nudie in the middle if you are of a sensitive disposition ! ) Very expensive (though very nice) bars at least the food is . Beer mostly 5 euros a 'pint' so not TOO bad. Nice kids pool, all weather mini football pitch, petanque, shuffleboard etc. Lovely gardens, and adequate lifts , always available. Sorry . too old to stay up for the shows, so I have no idea how good or not ! Short ten min walk into Es Canar with a good long beach with wall to wall bars, and Ferry and boat booking at the far end.
My partner and I just come back from this hotel and it is the best “3star” I have been too. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food have to be best, it changed every day so we had a wide range of meals. The hotel has lovely views of the beach. The down sides are the price of the safety deposit box and the WiFi. Please see photographs of prices. These are very expensive. The hotel needs a refurbish which I heard will be happening. Also the entertainment wasn’t to our taste but the entertainment team was fantastic. Overall a fantastic Hoilday.
I visited the hotel with my wife and young child for 11 nights in June. The hotel is set in a wonderful location next too Cala Nove beach which is small but very picturesque and a lovely alternative to the sun beds and poolside. There are two pools at the hotel and we spent all our time near the children's pool which was always quiet. The staff at the hotel whether it be the reception, waiters, cleaners or entertainers were all fantastic and very pleasant. A special mention to Milan, Alisha and Claudia and the rest of the entertainment team who work extremely hard, my son loved the mini discos and the bingo and quizzes were always great fun. The food at the hotel is very good and there is plenty of variety for all. Unfortunately if you are half board like ourselves you will see the prIces for water, coke and beer is very expensive and the beer in patricular is not pleasant. It was 3 euros for essentially half a pint where in Es Cana most places 2 euros gets you a pint. We stayed in room with two single beds and a cot. There was not much space in the room and it did look very dated but this did not really effect us as it's pretty standard for this type of hotel. The biggest issue with the rooms is thin walls which means you can hear a lot of what goes on next door and there does seem to be a lot of furniture moving going on late at night! Es Cana centre is about a 5-10 minute walk and we went everyday to try some of the bars and restaurants and always had a nice experience. Overall we had a very pleasant experience at the hotel and would recommend.
We have just returned from spending 11 nights at the hotel. The building itself is in need of modernisation having said that the facilities are of a good standard. As we were half board we had to buy drinks which proved to be very expensive 3 euros for less than half a pint of mediocre local beer with no alternatives available. The WiFi was also very expensive coating 30 Euro’s for 7 days! The location was fantastic set right on the beach which meant that the views were fantastic. Our biggest criticism is that the walls between the rooms are incredibly thin which lead to us having disturbed nights sleep most nights. The entertainment staff were lovely always very enthusiastic and friendly. They were very good with our almost 2 year old son. I must also mention the catering staff who were absolutely delightful with our son when we were having meals in the main dining room. Es Cana itself had lots of lovely bars and restaurants for us to visit. All in all we had a lovely family holiday.
Lovely hotel and food. Cala Nova beach is great. This is our third visit. My husband likes his red wine but unfortunately finds that served here is undrinkable. You are able to buy other bottles but then what is the purpose of all inclusive. Mentioned this to Tui rep but she was not hopeful of any outcome. We will be buying a bottle this evening and hope Management reads this.
Hotel was good as others have said maybe in a bit of need for upgrade. But still for a 3 star pretty good. The food we could not fault, plenty of chose for everyone. Pool was good but stayed on beach most days, The only down side was the foul mouth people who couldn’t have a conversation without f-ing every other word around the pool and the same people banging doors at 3 in the morning😡
We visited this hotel for 7 nights just returning home the 9th June. Was pleasantly surprised by most of the hotel although the decor is definitely 90’s at best. Buffet food was quite good and a variety of food as well. Pool area was pleasant and always managed to find a sun bed when we wanted one. All of the staff were always available to help and entertainment staff looked like they were enjoying themselves. Now the downside, you get no privacy whatsoever in the rooms. The walls are like paper and you hear every word spoken next door. DO NOT ACCEPT A ROOM WITH ADJOINING DOORS!!!! Other than that the area was excellent and we would return just not here.
we arrived initially to a little bit of disapointment that our request for a cot for our little girl was not put in the room on arrival. we arrived early hours of the morning so this was rather annoying..however it was quickly resolved. we really enjoyed this holiday, we did get a bargain deal at £1300 for 5 of us half board so we were not expecting anything amazing but this hotel more than exceeded our expectations. the food was great, lots to choose from. there were no problems getting a sunloungers especially as the first part of our stay was school hols. we easily got 5 beds around the splash pool. our 3 children loved it. special mention to Alisha and Claudia for being so welcoming to our two boys Harry and Alex, they did lots of activities during the day such as mini golf, boules and arts and crafts in the afternoon. there were no pressure to join in but Alisha and Claudia both worked very hard and were so friendly. the location was great, only 5 to 10 mins walk into es cana with plenty of bars on the way. we went to brisimar on the seafront a lot and they had free wifi. every bar we went in offered this so don't bother with the hotel Wi-Fi not worth it. hotel rooms were nice, kept very clean by the maids each day, can't fault it. on an evening the entertainment was good, especially the bird of prey show! we would go back again, thanks fiesta cala nova
As in previous reviews the hotel rooms are a little tired but overall a lovely hotel. The staff were very friendly throughout, the rooms and towels were cleaned and changed daily, the food at breakfast, lunch and dinner was excellent. Always a varied choice and topped up regularly. The hotel is easy walking distance to the beach and into town with lots of bars and clubs etc. Walk to the Hippie market on a Wednesday, a must experience.
