Ideal location - easy walk to the bars, restaurants, bus station and hippy market, also plenty of good walks in the area. Food was great, with plenty of choice. Staff in all areas were excellent. Decor a little dated, but hotel room and public areas were very clean. Would definitely stay here again.
Our 2nd visit to this hotel. It was tired last time and still needs that refurbishment but location is perfect. The nearby beach and beach bars make it worth the visit. The food here is quite varied but didn't seem as good this time around. Never a fresh croissant to be had at breakfast just wrapped up ones which did not seem fresh. However the staff worked extremely hard in the restaurant to clear plates and fill up any empty trays. The outside are was always a pleasure to sit in at breakfast. The pool area was very tidy but the sunbeds need replacing now. You almost fall through them. However despite the downsides, we would return to this hotel again as its location suits us so well. We were in room 248 and paid for a sea view but I think most get a good sea view in this hotel. One point I would like to make....I emailed the hotel upon our return on 14th October as my husband left his Rayban sunglasses on the seat outside as we waited for our transfer coach on Friday 13/10/17. I hope someone has handed them in (there are some honest people about aren't there!?) - I'm still waiting for a reply. Hoping they will reply to this review.
We visited as a family of 3, last week of August. Having stayed in a excellent 3* hotel in portinatx the past 3 Years, our expectations were probably a little too high. We visited on a recommendation from a friend who’d visited several times, from previous years. Our room had a beautiful sea view which we couldn’t fault but this was after being put into a room with a broken bed on arrival. Reception were amazing and we ended up with an upgraded room😀 Rooms were very clean, the maids did a fab job, rooms are very dated and small but you don’t spend much time in there so that wasn’t a problem👍🏼 Location, perfect for the beach, close enough to the town, just a 5-10 min walk away, although I did notice a lot of dog poo around in the wooded bit behind the hotel, looking for gecos on our walk into town ended up being dodge the dog poo😂 However, the chefs kitchen staff, waiting staff worked very hard, we felt the food standard was very poor. I understand some days the food isn’t to everybody’s taste, but more often than not we were disappointed. The pool area wasnt really cleaned throughout the day either, rubbish left on tables, half empty drinks, left all day, just not what I’d expect from a big busy hotel in peak season. We paid a silly amount of money for this hotel, £1700, 2 adults and a 5 year old fussy eater, that ate bread all week!.. we just expected more for our money comparing it to other hotels we’ve stayed in. We even gave the hotel the benefit of the doubt with it being peak and the sheer volume of people, but I’ve since spoken to somebody who visited just last week and they say the same. It’s a shame really as this could be a lovely hotel, which is why I’m very surprised reading the reviews on trip advisor as they are excellent. All in all though we had a lovely week and ended up hiring a car so ate out for the best part of the week.
My wife and I have just had a week at the Fiesta Cala Nova in Es Cana. This was a last minute booking, but we really enjoyed our time here. Although the hotel is dated it has a family feel about it when you talk to the staff. We found the staff to be faultless and all hardworking. The food is very good and there is a great variety, the maids keep the rooms tidy daily and the catering staff are on their game. The staff in reception are also very helpful, especially when my wife needed the medical centre. The pool was good and the beach only a stones throw away. Finally I would like to say we would not hesitate to use this establishment again in the near future.
We stayed in this hotel for 7 nights ,half bord .food is 1 out of 5 starts tasteless not a big variety . Most of the People working in a hotel very nice and friendly .Rooms are cleaned daily !evening shows are very poor apart feom bingo game .Guessts in a hotel mainly retired couples which is no problem at all as i wanted quiet holiday ! Loby bar ...well we ordered 2 cocktails €4 each they dont even make them comes from the machine and no card payments accepred in a bar !regardless the cocktails being drafted they were really not nice at all !i guess they there for all inclusive guessts . Beach is very close to the hotel and its really amazing sandy with a clear water and lots of naked people . Would i stay here again the answer would be No !
my husband and I stayed here at the end of September. as always the hotel was spotless, staff on reception great. this is our 6/7th time here and its always the same. The hotel is dated and in need of a makeover, that is happening in 2019. the main pool was very very cold pool bar staff bit rude at times.I was told at reception that it is being made into a 5 star hotel shame as its a great family hotel. our Thomson rep Heidi was great.
Have just come back from spending a week here.had a lovely holiday in a nice clean hotel.all staff and cleaners very polite and helpful.swimming pool nice and clean and good to see lots of sunloungers and chairs all around the pool 😊😊
Good pool scene, plenty of sunloungers,, public areas clean and nice restaurant with food at least 4 star quality. Our room was small and dated, bed was very firm. Needs a good refurbishment. We were all inclusive, some were half board. We had to pay 27 euros for rental of a kettle and buy our own coffee. Another 30 euros for the safe in our room. Plus more to use WiFi. If youvare intending to be out and about most days then half board is fine, but if its a relax by pool holiday go all inclusive as drinks were very expensive, a bag of crisps were 2 Euro a sandwich was 440eruro. And they do not supply bottled water in room even if you are all inclusive. So don't forget your travel kettle and instant tea or coffee, But knowing all that we would go back if we were sure it has had a refurb and new beds
Although I have stayed in Es Canar many times, it was my first visit to the Fiesta Cala Nova and the location. The hotel was pleasant if a little dated and in need of a bit of refurbishment but the amazing location more than made up for this and was what the 4 star rating was all about. The hotel sits overlooking the lovely Cala Nova beach which is very unspoiled and surrounded by trees and tropical vegatation. The beach is very welled served by noless than 5 restaurants, two of which are renowned and mentioned in all the current guide books. Access to the beach was by a gate in the hotel pool area so was very easiy to visit One thing to mention here is that if one wishes to access all the restaurant areas, you need to have no mobility problems as it is rocky and would be a bit hazardous if wet.. There is also a coastal path which will take you into Es Canar ( a pleasant 15 minute walk). My single room was small but clean and the balcony had a mountain and forest view plus a side sea view! (at no extra charge!). The restaurant was very pleasant with some oudoor seating, a good selection of food and a very clever system of keeping ones table.(a plastic card on each table with vacant on one side and reserved on the other) all you had to do was turn it over to keep you spot. Also new for me was the system of going up to the bar to purchace your drinks therefore avoiding the wait to be served at the table. The staff were all friendly and helpful and I had a very good week. The only thing that I was less than happy about was the high price or renting the safe and a kettle which meant I had spent over 50 euros before checking in. There was also aprice for renting a towel for the pool which I didn't do but was rather surprised about. I still had a really good time and would go again
lovely Hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Nothing too much trouble. We would however suggest that no one accepts rooms 120/127 as the view is of a roof and ducting. We did ask to change and was moved accordingly. Good very good and varied. Would definitely go back.
