This hotel in Hue is tired overgrown with vegetation, it's rooms are substandard with old shower curtains over the bath for a shower that turns cold after a few minutes. The food quality is poor - they struggle to cook eggs properly for breakfast. The exterior of the hotel is in a state of disrepair - perhaps a sign that Hue is no longer the tourist destination it once was. There were very few other people staying at this 3 star hotel and would advise people contemplating staying here to give it a miss
My husband and I went to this hotel to celebrate my birthday and we loved it. The management and staff went the extra mile to help us and on the evening of my birthday set up a special table around the pool area with soft music and delicious food. It was a very memorable evening. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The bed was super comfy. The breakfast buffet was great. The best we have had in a similar hotel. Thank you everyone for making our stay at your beautiful Hotel one to remember fondly.
I had a wonderful time while stay at La Residence Hue Hotel & Spa - MGallery by Sofitel! Everything lovely! All hotel person were very kind for me. And guest room was very comfortable! I'd love to visit again. Just one thing… I got on the boat which you recomended. Sight-seeing was very nice! But the boat man sold me for souvenir very higher price. I bought common Vietnamese souvenir(place mats, chopstiscks and some paintings)Those amount was $45. that was to bad!! Too expencive!!!! It is bad impression for yuor hotel, I think. You should better to improvement about that.
My wife and I had a lovely stay at Le Residence! I am a swimmer and so having this large lap pool outside my door each AM was great! It is obviously low season as the hotel was empty but the staff were gracious nevertheless. Holding doors, bringing drinks ..just top notch. The main lobby bar is a gem ..Art Deco from the 20's . The view of the Perfume River and the Flag staff of the VN flag on the Citadel was so interesting and thrilling to see. Hue is the Ancient capitol of Vietnam of course and there was also War history from 1968. le Perfume restaurant is a must do.. great food and service! My wife is quite upset she did not buy a lovely silk dress she saw in the hotel.s boutique. The gentleman shop owner was very gracious in his dealings. If at all in Hue, stay here... lovely hotel and for 5 stars the hotel rates are moderate!!!
We had done a long tour of Hue and in the heat we cut it short by an hour to return to the hotel. The pool provided great relief from the oppressive conditions and was a great place to unwind for a short while. The hotel itself was very pleasant although being a heritage building our room lacked space for our open suitcases. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant and the buffet breakfast provided a large choice of dishes.
Great balcony. Great room. Very clean throughout the hotel staff excellent- so helpful and wanting you to enjoy everyrhing. Spa brilliant and super different set up to the usual boring spa decor. Loved the spa so went 3 times over 3 days! Pool area lovely but didn't have time to use it unfortunately. Food was good in the hotel but wasn't so busy so no big atmosphere but we didn't mind...we were just tired and wanted easy food option before heading out for the night. Overall no complaints at all :)
Where was all the staff to cater and assist us during our stay in the best hotel in Hue? Missing doormen, absent servers, and disappeared pool attendants, were hard to come by. A couple of times when we returned to the hotel from long hot and muggy walks, there was no doorman to welcome us back or open the large, heavy front doors. Coming down to breakfast on our only day in Hue, there was no maitre d' or host to seat us, and there were no cooks or servers to be seen. We thought perhaps we were too early, but it was half past 6:00 am and service was started at 6:00 am. Eventually, staff started to appear, but getting their attention for a second cup of coffee was a bit frustrating. When we went to the pool in the evening, we did not see a pool attendant. We had to scour the pool area to find the pool towels and set up the lounge chairs. We did not expect this lack of attention at a 5 star hotel. Otherwise, this is a grand hotel that is very spacious throughout. Our room was large with a great view to the grounds and the Hue River passing by our balcony. When we told the front desk that we were not comfortable in the first floor room they assigned us, they quickly moved us to a similar room on the second floor. The bed and sheets were luxurious as was the beautiful bathroom. Our nights stay was quiet and restful.
I love this hotel very much. Stunning and well preserved art-deco architecture. The room is very comfortable. The pool is gorgeous and provides a great retreat after exploring the palaces and tombs. The spa is excellent, the therapist is very well trained and highly skilled. The breakfast spread is pretty good and quality of food in general is great. However, I would like to see more variety for the local cuisine.
My wife and I recently stayed here for two nights in a river view room. The room was comfortable with modern conveniences in a charming french colonial building, and our view was beautiful. Service at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. The only slight negatives are the distance to the main tourist zone and the lack of air conditioning in the common areas (including hallways). However, the hotel happened to be right around the corner from the dragon boat dock where we started our private tour the following day on the Perfume River, and taxis to and from the tourist zone were cheap. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and would definitely return again.
A very, very comfortable stay here. Loved all the period detail in the hotel and the quality of the experience. Thought the breakfast delicious with quality juices available, good coffee and excellent pastries. We got the hotel to organise a private tour for us of some of the royal tombs and that all worked well. We also took up a couple of suggestions from their list of restaurants outside the hotel in Hue and enjoyed both even though they were completely different experiences. Comfortable room, great service. Nothing to complain about at all.
