We stayed in a bungalow with small front balcony. Pool great, breakfast included Ok, Staff fantastic. Great place to totally relax and rejuvenate. Taxi Avery where 100-200 THB . Reception desk will tel, you what cost should be as no meter taxis in small town.. great lobster in night market cheap compared to home so great treat. Horse riding on the beach and they pick up do do in bag so beaches are clean and water clear .
Veranda Lodge is really a good choice in Hua Hin beach. Despite the Veranda being a beachfront hotel, a small nice pool is also available. On the beach some beach lounger are available in an area reserved for guests. All the staff are very friendly. If I come back to Hua Hin, I will stay at the Veranda for sure.
Was very disappointed in the place. Reviews have been pretty good, which was why I choice this hotel. But reality is that this place requires a lot of care to be competitive. Pros: - Staff are mostly helpful, and will assist with booking of tuk tuks and haggling the price. - Rooms are clean, bright, but dated. Housekeeping does a decent job everyday. - Very close to Market village mall which is convenient for food and shopping - Restaurant is on the beach so you get a nice view for breakfast, happy hour or dinner. Food is good. Decor is very bright and modern. - You get to order freshly cooked dishes, rather than cold buffet breakfast stuff that's been left out. Cons: - Hotel is located down a dimly lit sandy small soi. About 10 min walk to the main road - Rooms are very dated. Still use a key. Deluxe rooms are in the main building. Garden bungalows are located on the ground nearer the beach but are damp looking and covered under trees and foliage, hence the "damp". None of them have direct views of the beach by the way. - Highest floor for main building is 4, and the only lift refused to go down to 1st flr for a couple of days while we were there - No chain locks for the rooms and since the doors are the 'click to lock' kind, makes you feel very insecure at night. - Sheets and towels are old, frayed and have damp stains. - Deluxe rooms get a balcony which overlooks trees. Not very appealing - Hotel grounds always look damp and moldy. It's run down or if you prefer a better word, very rustic. - There are 3 dark woody and damp cages near the reception, 2 with birds and 1 with squirrels. The animals look sad and there is an awful smell from the squirrel cage which you have to walk past everyday from the main building. - The reception area looks like it's in a dilapidated hut next to the deluxe room building. - the swimming pool is very small. slightly bigger than a ping pong table. Overall, the hotel needs to a big revamp and seems sad and abandoned on first impressions. There isnt any direct sunlight hitting the reception area all day, giving the place a very dank, dark, eerie vibe. While some may find this rustic, it just smells and looks like rotting wood to me. Also sad for the caged birds and squirrels living in the dark and damp. Overall, I won't stay here again, maybe just visit the restaurant. For the price, you could get better accommodation on Hua Hin.
I have visited Veranda Lodge during 18-19 June 2017 under "Thachanun". I wish to share my marvellous experience starting with an extremely friendly Receptionist. It's a shame I didn't ask her name but she is the woman with a short hair. Not only escorting me to the room, she also explained the facilities around the hotel including in the room. It seems to be a little thing she did but believe it or not, I only see this kind of service at Mandarin Oriental and not others! The room is super clean with a slightly lemongrass scent. My front Garden Bungalow was just a few steps away to the gate that leads to the beach. Super serene atmosphere. I also dined in the hotel as well. Staffs were nice, food was great especially the grilled prawns. However, one thing I think they should improve is that the menu price list is not accurate. For example, the grilled seafood (small portion) was stated THB 750 but actually it was THB 900. Total stay was splendid and I shall come back very soon!!! / Thachanun
This was our THIRD stay...and now solidly one of our favorite escapes! We came with friends this time and truly loved coming in May! We had the beach and the property practically all to ourselves (until the weekend). We love our garden bungalow and our friends stayed in the main hotel and thoroughly enjoyed their rooms. In fact, there was nothing more we could think to ask for. Without mentioning it...the owner discovered it was our friend's son's birthday and arranged for a cake during dinner there...so incredibly thoughtful. Sitting at the pool with all the flowers in bloom was such a heavenly scent...can't wait to return! And one of our favorite things is the staff is always smiling, quick and happy to help!!
It's a medium sized resort in Hua Hin off the east coast of southern Thailand. About 200kms from the capital Bangkok. 3 hours by car from sukhumvit road. A lovely by the sea vacation. The room 401 on top floor has sea view and private balcony and a living room with two bathrooms; one with a bathtub in the bedroom and one with shower in the living room. There're cottages by the sea in the garden as well. The restaurant serves international and Thai food with happy hour drinks and lovely beachfront. There's a shopping mall opposite the road. Great location!
We stayed for a couple of months in a condo complex a few doors down the beach from Veranda Lodge. Without staying in the hotel we cannot comment on the rooms, however the bar, sitting right on the edge of the sand with panoramic views up and down the beach, is a cracker. There's plenty of nearby noodle/beer joints actually on the sand if all you're after is a quick beer and a bowl of something, but for the little bit more upmarket occasion, a Friday night splurge for instance you could do much worse than the Veranda Lodge Bar. Access either via the beach where you can walk straight up off the sand, or from the street head down Soi 67 and follow the signs through the lodge complex, it's near the overhead footbridge and opposite the high schools on Phetkasem Road.
A great disappointment. We had booked for 8 nights, asking for a sea view. We arrived late in the evening, were shown to our room to find the ‘sea view’ was over the car park. Our room, actually a family suite, was spacious, clean and reasonably well equipped, although the expected kettle was a microwave with a pyrex dish. The fabric of the building was tired and it did not have the slightly rustic beach front feel which the pictures on the website indicated. The breakfast buffet was poor (although my wife had a Thai dish which she said was excellent). The restaurant was shabby, with mis-matched furniture and trailing wires in the floor. The beach, accessed directly from the restaurant, was crowded with tightly spaced sun-loungers. The small pool was in an airless enclosure behind the restaurant. Overall the hotel was not what we had expected and we moved out immediately after breakfast on our first morning.
We stayed for two nights and really liked this small hotel right at the beach. The rooms are nice and clean. The beach chairs are free of charge for hotel guests. The restaurant with a view of the sea serves breakfast all day long. So you don't have to hurry getting up. And the food is really good.
Highly recommend the Veranda Lodge! Clean, great service, super friendly Team! Breakfast was excellent, food and drink prices were good. Did I mention the great people working there!!! Nice quiet pool.
