Stayed at Ibis Hua Hin in mid June 2018 with family. Overall it is a great mid range hotel. Location is good but a bit out of town. Nevertheless they provide free shuttle in a hotel songtheow from Ibis to the Clock Tower in the center of town. Basic facilities includes a swimming pool with children section, a couple of computers for guest use at the lobby, a bar & free breakfast. Breakfast selection changes daily and is not bad. Good coffee. We chose this hotel due to the availability of a family room, 1 queen bed & 1 double decker bunk bed for the kids. For those driving or renting a car, they have adequate parking in the hotel grounds & additional guarded car park across the road about 200 m away.
Clean room Less facilities but acceptable because the room is very cheap Check inn rate is available Good security- There are security guards and stuff at the reception 24 hours Helpful staff - security guard is very helpful, carry the bag even we arrived at late night Reasonable price Near the beach but cannot access to the beach directly Location is close to cicada market and restaurants
**P L E A S E R E A D & H E L P Y O U R S E L F** Arrived for check in at 10 pm. Nobody to greet us or help with baggage, so we went in and asked for some help as we had our sleeping infant with us. The first words the staff spoke to us was "self service, there is a bag cart over there". Not hello, or welcome, but go help yourself. Had no other interaction with staff until we checked out the next morning. When checking out, Ibis tried to charge us a service charge. We offered to pay cash, but not service charge, as we had no "service", also in Thailand, it is not mandatory to pay a service charge if you feel you had poor service. While leaving (my husband was carrying the baby while I had a large suitcase and baby bag), my large bag tipped over on the uneven sidewalk near the lobby and the staff who was 1.5 meters from me just looked at me and did not even offer to help. That is customer service?? We as well as our family and friends who have heard about this will not use any Ibis chain again. This was our first and last stay with their corporation. I apologize for the extremely long comment, but will end with this. When we tried to leave, they blocked the entrance with their car, and called the police. Not knowing that we too had called the police because they blocked the entrance which is illegal. When the police officer arrived and heard both sides of the story, he said that the hotel will except the room rate, and the service charge is optional. "There is nothing I can do", said the officer. just so you know any service charge at any industry in Thailand is not mandatory by law. It is pretty funny though, because the first words that the staff spoke to us was self-service, and then they tried to charge their customer a service charge on top of that. What a nice business model.
The Ibis Hua Hin was a very pleasant hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was good and there was a pool where you could relax. Overall this hotel was very good value for money. There was also a free shuttle bus into the centre of Hua Hin, but there are also plenty of cheap taxis (pick-up trucks) to get about the town if the shuttle is fully booked. 500 metres along the highway from the hotel was the cicada night market. There were also several bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel, and indeed in Hua Hin in general, very much. It is a great resort to visit.
This was a nice Hotel but only thing I found that the rooms where on the small size due to a balcony, much rather had no balcony and more space I the room, Breakfast was ok and even for early morning check out(4 AM) they provide a breakfast box for you to take out.
10 minutes taxi ride from Hua Hin railway station. Late check in handled efficiently. Good room overlooking the swimming pool. Room was well maintained. Small balcony. Variety of shops and places to eat about ten minutes walk. Five minutes walk to the beach down a road next to the hotel. Be aware that this area of beach is tidal; wide in the morning (when we were there) and almost non existence in tue late afternoon. Very good internet; 25 MB (Speedtest). Breakfast was satisfactory. Plenty of songthaews (hop on bus/truck) pass the hotel; 10 Bhats.
Very decently priced but make sure you're not looking for luxury or "comfort". This is not a complaint at all but just facts: restaurant is infested with flies (can't have one meal without swatting every minute), hotel is filled with local people and screaming children, & dogs are allowed inside and in rooms Positive points: nice rooms, good location to beach and markets, cheap.
Located near to the beach, not far from shopping malls and with a swimming pool is a plus. Generally staff are pleasant, especially a senior security guy. Although when I was checking out, there was only one male receptionist who was dealing with a guest with many questions, while I was waiting another male receptionist came to open another section but instead of asking for the next person, he asked the last in the queue, so my long wait was kept unnecessarily longer. Does he need to be trained properly or should the management get a common sense instilled in him? My room doesn't have a writing space, so I assumed this is not their usual size otherwise it is silly to miss that out. There is a sitting area but it is not possible to write sitting on the floor. There is also a small balcony which is good for those who love sitting out on the balcony. Good strong shower is enjoyable after swimming in the sea and the useable internet helps make this stay pleasant. The breakfast is good but with more Asian than Western food. I think there is a shortage of staff because most of the time there is an empty section waiting to be refilled. The shuttle bus starts after midday during the week and I was told to book for it, so I did not bother with that. Once I saw it went by while I was walking to a shopping mall, the shuttle bus has just 2 passengers. Overall it is a pleasant hotel to spend your time near the beach and warm sea.
Great value for money, and a really good location near the beach and Cicada Market. Breakfast buffet has lots of good options. Friendly staff, especially the older guy working carpark security! I had a nice stay here.
You are a very unusual hotel in that you allow dogs to reside in the rooms. Why did you not inform me of that during booking or during check in. I (like 99% of hotel users) would never ever knowingly book a hotel where rooms accommodate dogs. For that reason I would like compensation. The many other problems we endured like dirty towels and malfunctioning key cards etc etc were annoying and I accept your previous apology for them.
