Very nice hotel, greeted on arrival by several staff with smiling faces. Our bags were managed while we checked in, cool drink given to us. There are elevators, one for each wing. We had room 409 which was convenient as on the same floor as a roof top pool, the other pool is on the 2nd floor near the resto. Our balcony view (shady all day) was the pool below & other wing. The room had all we needed, king bed, softer pillows, fridge, kettle, tea/coffee, free Wi-fi (spotty at times) 2 bottles of water per day. Breakfast buffet was a combination of Thai (tasty soup & more) & Western (egg station, toast, yogourt & more). We enjoyed it as enough variety. Towels were provided at each pool & beach towels at the front desk. The hotel on the main drag through town which means there is road noise day & night and a lighter sleeper may need earplugs. The beach is about 300 metres down a nice concrete road. There are restos and beach chairs/umbrellas for rent a ways to the left or right. The sand is nice firm when wet, squeaky when dry. There are also several activities for purchase such as kite boarding & horse rides. The Market Village Hua Hin is across the street & maybe 200 metres away, can see it from in front of the hotel. Great place to shop, many stores & restaurants (Tesco-Lotus Department, Daiso, phone shops, banks, McDonald's, KFC & more). The food court in the basement to the back is outstanding, so many choices & so little time. The food was good & prices reasonable, give it a try. This is a great hotel, all of the staff were professional & friendly & we could stay there again.
Our first time in Hua Hin and D Varee was recommended. It did not disappoint. We stayed from 1-11th Feb 18. The location was excellent, 100metres from the beach, shopping and bars all around and only a 20 minute walk to the main areas or a 3 minute Tuk Tuk ride ( which is cheap and great fun). The staff in the hotel was very helpful, the rooms were spotless and cleaned daily. There are two pools, one is a roof top which catches the sun until midday and there is a bar with it. I used the gym however the machines need some maintenance work as they are not working too well. There are hundreds of hotels from being cheap as chips or really expensive, this fell in the middle for us and I am definitely coming back to Hua Hin and will be staying at D Varee without doubt.
Very attractive exterior .Warm reception with welcome drink. Interior looking a bit tired. Good spacious quiet room even although view on road. Good safe and fridge, kettle with tea and coffee.Breakfast standard ,although you can read the The Bangkok Post .choice of egg dishes ,mam and sausages. Staff have good local knowledge which with the location 3 mins to powder sand soft beach or Market Village ,where cinema, foreign exchange ,very good rates on ground floor before food court.Second visit and they remembered me ,will be back again.
On a positive note. This hotel is in a good location [if you want to be right in Hua Hin]. It’s immediately across the road from the Market Village and a very good, outdoor Thai restaurant and walking distance to the Blu Port Mall. It is, however, located on the busiest road in Hua Hin [No 4 which is the main road through the area] and crossing this road can be ‘scary’ at times. On the other hand, because it is a busy road, transport is readily available outside the hotel – Tuk Tuk, public bus and Thai taxis .It is also just a 5-minute walk to the Beach. The hotel is relatively inexpensive, compared to many others in this area, because [in my opinion] it is essentially priced at a 3-star level. That is what this hotel is. If you want any type of luxury, this hotel is NOT for you. All staff were very friendly & welcoming. The included breakfast buffet was also OK. The hotel décor is aging a bit. The room [we had] was small, albeit it was well-presented and had a nice bathroom. The [advertised] King-size bed was in reality 2 smaller beds put together, with separate bedding. The main swimming pool on the 4th floor is very inadequate, and it is not a nice area. If you want a beautiful pool/area, go to the G Hua Hin Resort & Mall. We chose a pool-access room on the 2nd floor. A number of rooms are adjacent to a quite nice, indoor pool area. However, be warned, you have NO privacy in these rooms. The REAL downside for me at this hotel was the NOISE. It’s noisy everywhere. As mentioned, it is located on Hua Hin’s busiest road, so there is a lot of traffic noise, regardless of where you stay in the hotel. Moreover, the walls are so ‘thin’ you can hear people talking in the adjacent rooms, opening drawers and every time somebody moves a chair, it reverberates right through the entire area. Simply, I could not relax in this hotel. It is the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in!
We enjoyed our 8 day stay here apart from some traffic noise the room doors a bit light with a bottom gap however I am a very light sleeper. We have stayed in many hotels over 4 decades of travel and the staff were so friendly and helpful in particular the Concierge Nopphon Haaw he was wonderful. Our departure taxi arrived exactly on time, the room servicing staff did an excellent job, umbrellas handed out one day when going for a walk and rain expected, the pools lovely & fresh, would stay again. A fantastic food court in shopping centre opposite.
We travelled with 2 kids and this hotel location is great for family as the Market Village, Tesco Lotus is just 5 minutes opposite the road. There is a food court inside the mall with much cheaper price than what you can get in Bangkok. The room is big for 4 of us with one added bed. They have everything you need in the room. It took us only 5 minutes walking to the beach which is behind the hotel. They also provide you beach towel and mat.
Stayed for seven nights , nice hotel for the price in a good position opposite the shopping centre and a short walk to the beach, our room was a good size but very noisy on the front of the building , they need to upgrade the double glazing , not keen on the obscure glass for bathroom wall either. Breakfast was ok a lot of choice in Asian food but limited European food , staff friendly and helpful, would stay again .
But that being said, could use some improvement. A few things like the shower literally leaking all out onto the bathroom floor, the actual amount of light in the bathroom is quite dim, and the mattress is literally rock hard. Like sleeping on concrete. However, for the paltry amount you pay to stay here, it's a hotel that does an extremely good job at service, cleanliness, and the location is awesome! Almost right opposite market village, a short cab ride into town for the night market, reasonably close to Siam milsim, also a short tuk tuk ride to Cicada market, this place is probably the most central of all in Hua Hin, but far enough away to offer good peace and quiet. It's also a stone's throw away from the beach, located just at the rear of the property behind the carpark. I've stayed here three times now, and each time has been really nice. The hotel also does a fairly decent job of keeping the mosquitoes away, too. There's two pools here, the upper floor pool with a bar that offers great prices on cocktails at happy hour from 6 til 8 pm. It's a great way to settle down after a hard day's relaxing, to get you into pre drinks before you head to the awesome night market to smash down huge lobsters and prawns, and get yourself a massage right after. Really, I could vacation at this spot and never get bored of if for the rest of my life. While there's a lot of hotels in Hua Hin that do a great job, I'm pretty certain this one is the best bang for buck going right now.
Completely satisfied with our 3-night stay here. Modern, clean room. Far enough from the busiest part of the town, but not too far to get to the beach and markets in a taxi or songtaew. Market Village community mall opposite adds some extra convenience. Highlight was the service. Outstanding customer service from all staff. Thanks for a wonderfull stay.
Stayed here for 6 nights, initially the air con in the room was really poor, this seemed due to not being on for a while, the hotel really should have the air con on when guests check in. After this initial hiccup all was fantastic, great breakfast cooked whatever way you wanted, nice and tasty room service. Across the road from the market village and only 100 baht taxi fare to the cheap bars with live music at Hau hin beach, ask to be taken to Hilton, then have a walk around from there. Would definately stay here again, could not fault the pool access room.
