The room was not worth the price! Spiders and spider webs and the smell....should have checked around before I booked. Lesson learned!
I booked it because of price... comparatively low. I am accustomed to paying more and expecting more. It's a rather old, used up motel being maintained at minimum standards. Clean enough minimally. Secure enough minimally. You get what you pay for. I will pay more in the future. My only real complaint for below value performance is that there was nobody at the front desk. I had to ring the desk bell several times. Then I was assigned a room that I discovered was already assigned to another guest. I had to carry my bags back down (stairs) and get another room. Poor management practice.
The lighting in the room was poor yellowish - cave-like lit. 2 of the 4 lights in the room did not work. The hair dryer did not work - the clerk looked for a loaner but of course could not find one - had to use the one in the room next door . Chairs at the table were soiled and uncomfortable. No grill on A/C outlet. Towels were the size of dish towels. The breakfast: Had a gallon jug of milk - half empty - in the frig along with a half-gallon of OJ there were 3 eggo's, a choice of 2 kinds of dry bulk cereal one slice of bread for toast coffee pot looked like it had never been washed. 3 tables in the dining area which was the lobby No receipt available upon check-out. However, the sheets seemed to be clean and the bed was comfortable. Certainly not worth a dime more than I think (?) I paid for the room.
Ive stayed here many of times the past 6 years and ive always enjoyed it. The service was wonderful. I called for extra pillows and had them within 20 minutes. Convenient to highway and multiple restaurants.
While we were only there for overnight. I feel that both Orbitz and the Super 8 motel over charged us for this motel. I could have walked up with no reservation and gotten the same room for $20 less. Frankly, I will not use Orbitz nor Super 8 again
