The hotel is walking distance to shopping and major attractions in Bryygen. The rooms are clean and spacious. Most of all, the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a place in the area
We were impressed with our stay at the Radisson Blu. The Front Desk people were very professional and helpful, and our rooms were very clean and nice. The beds were exceptionally comfortable! Dinner was very good and well priced. Service at dinner was also exceptional.
The location is convenient to the waterfront (Brygge) area and is right next to the stop for the airport bus. The lobby and staff are welcoming. They were really nice and stored my luggage for several days before I checked in. The rooms are standard with not much of a view for the basic double room we had. We looked out onto the other wing of the hotel. There were many large tour groups staying in house so while the provided breakfast was delicious and hearty, it was served in a rather bland, character-less conference/ballroom.
I spent an enjoyable short stay here. The room was fine, albeit a tad small, and no wardrobe - just a hanging area, which was a bit odd. I did get a good deal, so size of room not really an issue. It was very clean (very Scandinavian in that resect) and has a decent restaurant on the ground floor - see separate review. Breakfast was decent, with a good selection. The check-in and check-out were excellent - very fast. Front desk was very helpful. The hotel is well located down by the wharf and within walking distance of many sights and restaurants. Recommneded, if you like a modern hotel - albeit the modernity is not obvious from a sideways view from the Bryggen wharf.
When I booked the room, the reservation clearly said "city view", but all my windows was 3 feet to another building. Confronting the reseption, they appologized and said they should fix the wording. They don't have any rooms with a city view. This was dissapointing because we were here for new years eve. We did not get any dinner in the restaurant new years eve either, it was full. Rooms and breakfast okay, but too expensive. So an expensive hotel advertised with lies.
My partner and I booked a double room, requesting for a queen size bed via Expedia. But, when we turned up today, we have been given a twin room? Isn’t it obvious that we are a couple when we checked in? I don’t think it is fair for us to have been allocated a room different from what we have booked for. As we were tired from the trip, I didn’t bother heading back to reception to ask for what we have booked. Shifting two beds together with a gap in between makes this whole experience so uncomfortable. It doesn’t help when the pillows are soft as mush. I will certainly be grading back to reception tomorrow morning to see if we can get the bed switched without switching a room. It has also been raining all day. So, when we saw the room service menu in the room, we knew that will be perfect. But, when I rang reception, I was told room service isn’t available due to the holiday season. Shouldn’t such information be provided during check in or shouldn’t the room service menu be removed from the room if it is not offered? I was expecting way better services than the hotels I’ve been in through this trip given the price of the rooms, and the ratings. But, I’ve had better services and rooms in hotels rated below this one. Surely a 4 star hotel can offer better services than this?
Was here for a conference with work and stayed at the hotel for three nights, check in was swift and easy. Room was nice and spacious. Breakfast was really good also. Meal at night was also quite good with a good selection available Will definitely be back soon.
Room was ‘compact’ and definitely lacking in space to put clothing (no wardrobes or shelving). Might be worth the upgrade if you get wardrobe space, especially if your here for a few days. Otherwise room is comfortable. Staff are eager to help and friendly.
A nice hotel that bends in well with its surrounding and the old buildings. It has a very nice restaurant with an excellent service which I would give a 5/5. However the room was a bit too small and lack of space to hang clothes and jackets esp during winter time. The chair was covered with dust and we were uncomfortable to sit on it. Other than that... All is good and perhaps for couple go for a bigger or business room.
Friend from Bergen suggested hotel. Location, bkfst, room, service excellent. One suggestion.....an international business hotel should have staff to transfer luggage from car or bus to lobby. It was raining and flybus driver was kind to do it....hotel staff should do it to welcome customer.
