The house was clean, but everything was very dingy. It felt old and out of style - needs painting and redecorating. The entrance to the driveway is a huge mess of trash bags - very awful. There is no lighting at the entrance or on the driveway. It felt unsafe. There are gates that you can see in all of the photos, which are secured by padlocks -- one on the front of the house, one on the back that faces the beach and one for the gate in the yard that leads to the beach. We kept them all locked when we went out and at night, which felt weird to be locked in in such a way. We had not been locking the gate from the yard to the beach or the gate on the back of the house when we were in the ocean just a few feet (and in sight of) the house. One day, our 16-year-old son stayed at the house while the rest of us went into the ocean. He heard someone yell something that he didn't understand and assumed it was coming from the pathway just beyond the wall that encloses the backyard. The next thing he heard was the screen door opening. He came out of his room, thinking it was one of us who had returned to get something. But it was an intruder! The man made up a story saying that we had sent the man to get our son to buy mangoes. Our son was confused but followed the man out to the walkway where we saw them. He asked my son if he was scared and told him "I'm not a robber" then walked away toward Folkestone. We found only $4 missing from the table at the house, but we were shaken up.
