Had a two night stay at The Henry Jones Art Hotel in Hobart. The hotel is wonderful with a great feel of history in it. I also loved the way the room was designed with the old beams. It had a very comfortable feel to it. The service staff were always polite and helpful. I was a bit worried about the valet only parking at first but they were very quick when bringing up our car and would keep it at the front of the hotel if you notified them you would need it in quick turnaround. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel. It inst on the cheaper side but well worth the money.
The Henry Jones Art Hotel is the only hotel I know with a full time resident historian and full time resident art curator. The more friendly and helpful staff ever! Rooms were lovely, clean, and distinctive. Will be glad to return.
The site of this hotel dates back to 1804 and was once the site of a jam factory, in converting the property to a hotel as much of the original construction was saved hence the rooms are different which adds to the charm of this hotel. Our room was large , in the front, good view of the picturesque waterfront and no problem with noise. Room was very clear and well organized, if you there for work a desk is available and good lighting BUT who ever designed our room took pleasure in hiding light switches, became like an Easter egg hunt at one point. The hotel has a free art tour if you are staying there, recommended if you have time. Food is very good we had one lunch and two breakfast and can recommend, plenty of near by choices for dinner that are a short walk and the excellent hotel staff will assist with reservations. I would love to stay there again.
For a great sized room which is quiet and where you can spread out, relax and do your yoga practice this is the hotel. The hotel is well located to nearby restaurants and the ferry to Mona. It is a short walk to Salamanca Galleries and shops and if you have no time to visit the galleries you can look at the great Tasmanian art displayed throughout the hotel. Importantly the staff are friendly and helpful and the service faultless. Enjoy a great breakfast featuring Tasmanian produce before you venture out of this very enjoyable hotel experience. I have stayed here a number of times and it never disappoints.
The Henry Jones is a unique destination combining a wonderful landmark building with every modern amenity. We loved the location within walking distance of Hobart's noteworthy attractions. The hotel is first class in every meaning of the word.
This property is nicely situated across from the Hobart Waterfront area in a historic building, the site of a former Jam Factory. The retrofit has maintained many of the interesting architectural elements, both in the public areas and the rooms. Our room was large and comfortable. The staff throughout our stay were very accommodating, arranging a walking tour of the town, helping us select restaurants, etc. But the front desk staff were especially helpful when we left our Passports locked in the room safe while we were on our way to the airport! The staff retrieved our documents, packaged them, and hired a taxi to deliver them to us at the terminal. All of this occurred at lightning speed, so that we didn't miss our flight. Note: The downstairs IXL Long Bar had a great atmosphere. We met some lovely Australian tourists there.
From the moment we stepped into Henry Jones the staff made us feel like special guests. The room was everything we could ask for. The hotel itself is a joy to explore, all the art spaces and the layout of the hotel is so fun and relaxed.
Great hotel with a wonderful sense of history, beautiful rooms and helpful and friendly staff. Don't miss the Art and History tour. Our first visit but will be certainly coming back. Only place to stay in Hobart.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. JamPacked cafe does a nice lunch. Room was comfortable and spacious. The bed linens were comfortable and so were the bath linens. Pillows a little too soft. Breakfast at the Lounge was okay, nothing special.
We stayed at the Henry Jones Hotel for 2 nights in a deluxe spa harbour view room with valet parking. The hotel is right on the waterfront & our room had a great view of the action. It’s walking distance to many bars & restaurants and tourist attractions. Our room was spacious, with quality inclusions & king bed. The staff were all pleasant and responded quickly to any requests. Overall a great place to stay in Hobart.
