Novotel Saigon Centre

4.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

At first I was a bit overwhelmed with the location being my first time to HCMC. Started exploring and came the conclusion that the hotel is in a pretty good location bordering district 3 and 1. If you got small kids like We do, you might want to consider a taxi being quite inexpensive, just make sure you get a metered one. Location I would give a 3.75 out of 5. Overall hotel quality a 4/5. Gym 2/5. Pool 2/ was to cold for me due to lack of direct sun contact. Breakfast I would give a 4/5.😊

The Novotel Saigon Centre is a tourist hotel, which is clean and where you get what you expect with no negative or positive surprises. I did not lime the breakfast, which was one of the worsei had in many years of heavy traveling around the globe.

Ok for a base to visit the attractions of HO Chi Minh. Hotel clean and tidy, roof top bar quite pricey, even at western prices. Breakfast was the usual fare and catered for all nationalities. Walking distance to a lot of attractions.

Excellent Services from the Staff, A very comfortable and clean room, The food + Amenities were also very good. I stayed for about 10 days and it was a very nice overall time I spent in a hotel. You can access from the hotel all kinds of shops, restaurants, coffee joints, etc.,

As a base I can not fault the Novotel. Easy walking distance to most of the main attractions( we walked to the Skybar in the financial tower, war museum, presidential palace, history museum etc). Breakfast is top notch and caters for all inter nationalities. Only complaint was we wanted to use the roof top bar on our last evening to take advantage of the cocktail offer(8-10 pm all cocktails 99k) however was turned away because of a private function which we did not realise was on, wasn't advertised very well either.

This review is only for the F&B of the hotel, which I experienced in the restaurant on the second floor (dinner buffet) and the bar on the 20th floor. Worst experience in a long time: Sashimi was mediocre quality, the cut from the lamb leg was raw, and after the cook threw it on the grill it became tough as leather. Choice of main dishes was cheap quality and almost only Asian style. The cheeses looked old and dry and not appetizing. The restaurant smelled fishy, and just to top things off one guest in a noisy group of poorly behaved local men started to smoke a cigar, which was not immediately stopped by anyone of the large number of staff. This is by law a non smoking place. A well managed restaurant would have asked them to behave or to leave. The drinks in the bar were ok, but after the first one was finished, we sat there for 20 minutes with an empty glass while two waiters were standing behind us, chatting with each other. So we left. Overall a very disappointing experience. I can only discourage everyone from coming here for food or drinks.

Novotel has been a quality hotel since its opening. The management is very kind and attentive. Quiet, competent staff and very available. The restaurant is always full because the value for money is correct. The chef is attentive to all even if the restaurant is full, it will satisfy you. A way should be found to improve the ventilation of fumes from the kitchen or barbecue.

The novotel is situated on a 10 minute taxi drive to the busy centre. Hotel has a kind of indoor pool, not really a pool where you can do sun bathing. We did not have breakfast at the hotel since we find the price for breakfast way too high. Around 14 usd per person (per night) is really overrated but all hotels have these high prices. There are enough bakeries etc around to have breakfast so no problem for us. Rooms are small but clean and the bed was ok for me but my partner found it a bit too hard (but that's personal taste for everyone). All in all, perfect two night stay.

The staff is very welcoming, and the hotel has great infrastructure. The executive club on the 19th floor is not bad, but not the best I had in terms of variety. The pastries are good, the salty choice is limited. Nobody took breakfast during our stay. Breakfast at Square (2nd floor) is rich and well done. The pastry chef is really good. The daily soup changes everyday (Pho, Bun Bo Hue...) Accor Platinum members: the welcome drink gives you access to the bar menu (whole menu). The pool is halfway covered... no tan here :) One bad thing: room 1910 get a generator noise starting 5AM :( The executive club manager didn't seem to understand what I was talking about...

All staff are very helpful and friendly. The hotel provided me the most satisfaction of all services. It located in the central city. I liked my clean room. It is my great pleasure to recommend the hotel to other friends.
