Good location, great views. Room is not very clean (hairs found on towels and wall, dust in a lot of places. Heating is not usable meaning the room was cold (heating just blows cold air), front desk unable to assist as it's centrally regulated.
It is a 5 min walk (with suit cases) from Fukuro-machi, station. The room was very quiet, spacious and clean. The hotel is centrally located made walking easy. Wi fi was great and free. I would stay here again.
Located a 5 minute walk from the peace park and museum; as well as walking distance to the city center (shopping and restaurant district) The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are simple, but modern and comfortable. Breakfast is served on the 29th floor with great views on Hiroshima, and the breakfast viking choices are not only extensive but sparkling wine is served free of charge on Sundays!!!
We stayed here for 1 night, which is really all you need for Hiroshima in my view. The hotel is located minutes away by foot from the main attractions, namely the Atomic Bomb Dome and the Peace Memorial Museum, which is pretty much where you'd want to stay. It's also around 20 to 30 minutes away from Hiroshima Station by streetcar and around 1 to 1.5 hours by streetcar-JR train-JR ferry to Miyajima. The hotel is an average 3 star establishment. The room was small but acceptable by Japan standards, and importantly it was clean. However, it was very sparsely furnished / designed, and the shower is equipped only with the basic necessities, such as shampoo and soap stored in large pump bottles and your basic toothbrush / toothpaste / hair brush etc. type extras. I should emphasise that this is all what I'd expect from an average 3 star establishment with the Mitsui Garden name attached to it, but it certainly was nothing exceptional beyond that. In summary, it was an average experience. For the price we paid, I think we could have found a better hotel elsewhere in the city.
Good sized rooms by Japanese standards with comfortable beds. Ironing facilities on every floor. About a five to ten minute walk to main sights and a 1000yen taxi ride from JR station. Convenience store very close to hotel. Good breakfast with bay views from the restaurant if the sky is clean.
We stayed one night in a twin room. The room was clean and modern with light and bright furnishings. It was fairly spacious by Japanese standards, with plenty of room for us and our suitcases as well as room for a small sofa, chair and small table. The bathroom was small (but not overly small) and clean. The room was quiet and the beds were comfortable. The hotel is well located to the Peace Memorial and Museum as well as the town centre. It is a little way from Hiroshima station but it was only ¥1000 in a taxi. We thought it was better to be within walking distance to the Memorial rather than be close to the train station. The hotel also has irons and ironing boards easily located near the lifts, rather than having to make a trip to reception. Our rate included the buffet breakfast on the top floor. The buffet was good with the 'special' French toast being a highlight. The views from the top floor were wonderful. The hotel reception staff were very helpful when we arrived early, storing our bags for when we returned to check in later in the day. A nice touch was cold filtered water in the foyer along with clean cold hand towels. This is a good hotel and I would definitely stay here again.
A shiort tram ride from Hiroshima station, hotel is situated in the city centre within walking distance of Peace Memorial gardens and A-bomb site. Rooms are small ( standard in Japan) fitted will all mod cons. Breakfast is held on the top floor of the hotel offering great Jews of the city. Buffet style with a mix of Japanese and Western fayre..nice touch that we had sparkling wine on the Sunday morning for some Bucks Fizz. Great base for visiting surrounding areas,
I'm not sure why some people have called these rooms tiny. We stayed in a double for two nights and we're really happy with the space. We could easily fit one large suitcase and two large backpacks with enough spare room to move. Of course, rooms in Japan are smallish to start with but these rooms are not what you'd call tiny by Japanese standards. Our room was fresh, clean and nicely decorated. All of the facilities that we saw around the hotel were also in a good condition. In no way was this place run down or in need of renovation like some other reviews have suggested. The location was perfect for walking to the peace park as well as hondori street with heaps of food options on the small laneways nearby. It was also under 10minutes walk to hondori street car station which would take you almost anywhere you'd like to go in Hiroshima. If you want to try somewhere easy for dinner go to Gayagaya Izakaya, which is directly behind the hotel. It's lovely inside, has an English menu and does delicious (and cheap) chicken yakitori and gyoza.
Despite being the cheapest option online for three men staying in one room, the Mitsui was very newly redecorated and our room was wonderful and accommodated us perfectly. The hotel is an excellent location and well run. Check in was good and English spoken too. They kindly confirmed our "sketchy" booking for the Mazda factory tour without hesitation. Breakfast is VAST! So is the view from the 25 th floor! Walk to most things easily. Nice new smell too! WEL done management! Saw a few negatives on TA which you have to expect I know....but think most have been rectified. We last stayed in Hiroshima 5 years ago at the Rhiga Royal by chance and it too was excellent but a lot more expensive.
Would recommend this hotel! Was awesome!!! Was clean bathroom was a bit small but other then that would totally stay here again There is a family Mary next door, always a taxi out the front very convenient!! Totally recommend hiring a bike and riding around Hiroshima was a highlight in our trip! If you go out the front turn left and walk straight up to the pink building... in there they will set up a hire bike :)
