Resort is located in beautiful area but the unit needed major updating. One bedroom located in lower level smelled like a wet basement. Found spiders and carpet looked dirty. Shower has extremely small downstairs and bath tub very large but was not clean and had a spider in it.
Great accessibility to beautiful waterfalls, hiking and great mountain towns. Unit was large with forrest view decks. Golf course staff were very friendly and the course was challenging to play...needed some maintenance. Resort had brewery but it didn't stay open passed 6:00 pm which was a Real drag because it looked very inviting. Amenities fee was excessive given we didn't utilize most of the services we were paying for.
We enjoyed our stay but were surprised at the $19.95 a day fee for the pool and gym even if you do not use them. We have never run into this with an RCI exchange. It is an older place, it was clean and quiet but dated. The owners plan to upgrade in the future.
The resort is older one. It is large though. It advertises a indoor pool and hot tubes but are located 2 miles down the road at another resort. I had a 2 bedroom 2 bath with full kitchen dining room and living area. The place just needs a little TLC with carpet, update the bathrooms a little, more hair dryers that are not bolted to the wall. We cooked most of our meals which we usually do to save money and time...we love to cook and have wine on vacation. We are hikers and the area was beautiful to see ...good hiking trails.
We spent a week at this nice resort in a 2 bedroom unit. It was large and very quiet. Furnishings were comfortable. Staff at check in were pleasant and helpful giving many suggestions for activities and sight seeing. The master bedroom/ bath and laundry was downstairs (14 steps) so consider this if you have mobility issues. Housekeeping could be more attentive to detail. Kitchen pans/ dishes were average. One problem for us that the recreation facility was not on the resort property. If you want to swim, work out or participate in resort activities you have a minute 10 drive to get to to these buildings.
Resort was a good location but amenities offsite without shuttle. Had to pay daily amenities fee even if didn't want to use because of location. Outdated unit, downstairs musty smelling. Won't stay here again.
Nice place. Good location, but I wish I'd known more about the different towns in the local area. Wonderful hiking everywhere! Many lovely waterfalls. Lots of places in Sapphire were inexplicably closed when we were there - one lady told me they were "resteing up for Labor Day crowds"! (We went late August.) We were NOT happy about the mandatory "resort fee". We had to drive 2 miles to get to the resort facilities, so it was inconvenient if family members wanted to do different things near the same time. The, anything except gym/pool required paying even more!@#$#$!! Not pleased about that. However, the gym was very nice, and the heated salt water pools (1 inside, 2 outside) were wonderful!
The area is one of the best for outdoor activities. The resorts are getting older, but are still nice places to stay. There are many waterfalls nearby and plenty of lake activities. Highlands is a very good place to visit and explore the shops and gardens.
Needs a lot of work! The room was musty and smelled like mold. This unit should be gutted and redone! We were not told about the resort fee until checkout! We would like our money back on this one although the sites were worth visiting.
I'm not expecting a lot, but this place is like a time warp back to 1993. Appliances: Very old, very loud, and don't really function that well. Provided dishwasher tablets, but the dishwasher didn't dissolve them and clean the dishes. Having the light on above the stove(range hood/microwave combo), make the inside of the microwave so hot that i think i could cook food in there without turning on the microwave. Did a load of laundry, dryer was so loud i thought it was going to explode. TV's: No one goes on vacation to watch TV, but there are down nights. There is a TV in both bedrooms, and the living room, however there is no option to connect them to the wifi. Can't cast from phone/tablet to TV either. Rented a movie from the Redbox at Ingles, only to discover that we had no sound. Apparently the cheapest DVD player i've ever seen only has component hookups, and the ones for sound were nowhere to be found. Kitchen cabinets were basically falling apart, and i'm pretty sure that the only cleaning that is done is the "good enough" kind. It's pretty disgusting behind doors, in corners, up in the lofted area. It wasn't all bad, they must have updated the beds, because they were comfortable. The area is awesome, they have fantastic views. Ingles grocery store has everything you need, and very reasonable prices. Cashiers and Highlands are great towns to visit. Last thing, don't bother going Sapphire Brewing Company, it's about two days away from closing, there's no staff to wait on anyone, but that's a different review.
