In English for foreigners Nothing is first class here, but fine and comfortable enough for a short get away. The hotel is not so cheap, but if we see what they give, I can say that it's not a bad value for the price, especially, that a 3 hours ticket/night to the amazing thermal lake(close to the hotel) is included in the price! The staff is friendly and helpful, but some of them ice cold too, like a robot. Because of the central location, a good and practic place to stay.
It's a tall block 60s style Hungarian 'communist' era hotel. The toilet bowl is the old fashioned Hungarian types. Rooms are spacious bedding and sheets are typical communist era types. This hotel has seen better days. It's current clientele is mostly older guests from Austria or older Hungarians used to the communist era type amenities. The rate included half board (breakfast and dinner) and coupons to go to the thermal lake. The buffet dinner was very mediocre. However for the price paid it was ok. Won't stay again there are better places to be on the balaton. Photos are views from the room we had.
The receptionist, Mr. Barta, he welcomed us very lovely. During the day too, the staff at the reception were abig help. The Restaurant Manager Mr. Leslie hosted us very nice. The Staff in the Restaurant treated us very poor. The ve apoor conversation and they re not helpful at all. Shouting to the guest when requested something, especially the Assistant Restaurant Manager. If aquest request to Talk to the Hotel Manager personal, this is not possible. Its doesnt matter what Time is it, Hotelmanager is not available in this hotel. The staff want to Know Whats the matter, so they an inform through the phone. But to see amanager personal its not possible at all. Superior Standard was definitiv not. The rooms re very small. Cheap furniture and the beds re for asuperior Standard abig joke. The Staff doesnt remove used Utensils and there is no roomservice. If someone need some water before 22hoo, this is not possible. If the Bars close, even if its 21h50, then is closed and its not possible to get abottle of water, as aguest you ll wait till next day. Book on your own risk...
A good value for money for Heviz stay Looks like a classical blockhouse from outside, but rooms refurbished inside Breakafast and half board are quiet ok - non gourmet style but good choice and quality food If you get a good deal even lake tickets can be included into your package price Average age is above 60 but staff is professional and sometimes even kind Worth a visit if you look for good deals
I've spent a couple of days at the Panorama to help an elderly relative in getting started on his cure at the neighboring rehab institute. The hotel's lobby looks promising and is well maintained and so are the other public areas. My room, however, was quite dated and in desperate need of refurbishment. I've booked half board. Food was average, rather bland and done on the cheap. For those getting treatments, there is, however, a big plus: the skybridge that connects the hotel with the rehab over the street. All in all: Even though I didn't have one single issue during my short stay, I just wouldn't stay there again.
Me colleagues and I staid for a night, this was a business trip. When you inter the hotel you can see that this hotel was great hotel in the past, but unfortunately it staked there, every thing is very old and there are no A/C in the rooms. The furniture in the room is very old, but clean!! The meals in the hotel restaurant was good, several dishes and testy food. The conference room was so small, they didn't even but some drinking water there. Overall, this was a bad choice.
Dont expect too much. This is an old hotel from the communist era. Back then it was nice so the management decided not to change too much. Food is acceptable, but not a "restaurant" quality. Sometimes I got nostalgic from the flavors I remembered from my childhood. That was nice. Soon I came to realize, this is what is expected from the hotel. The average visitor is from the hungarian "senior community" coming to get healthy to this town. So this is the food and atmosphere they expect, I guess. Room was clean and comportable. If you want an inexpensive hotel with half board, acceptable food very close to the lake, this is an alternative.
We have stayed in the Panorama hotel on 4 occassions now with the last being April/March 2013. The hotel itself is a large tower built in the communist era. However, the rooms themselves, although small are satisfactory. What is impressive is the value for money. Included in the price is entry to the thermal lake or thermal pools in the hospital adjoining the hotel. There is even a heated walk way to get to the hospital. The daily rate that we had inlcuded breakfast, dinner and a soup buffet at lunch. The staff spoke good English and have always been more than helpful. Rooms have a balcony with impressive views of the town and local countrside. We will continue to stay a this hotel due to it's location, entry to the lake/pools and superb value for money.
Hunguest Hotel Panorama was built in the "socialistic-realism" style, which means that it is a huge, ugly tower. However Hunguest - as one the biggest hotel chains in Hungary - has started to refurbish the interior: this means that there are a great number of rooms, which are called "superior rooms" offering a nicely decorated interior. The hotel's lobby with a small cafeteria has also been refurbished. Altogether I had good impressions about the hotel's services and look. The hotel is situated in a quiet street, with its own parking lot. Look out for Hunguest's package deals, which makes Hotel Panorama a very reasonably priced hotel. The two extras: the hotel is very close to the lake, you can walk there within 2 minutes + as the building is quite tall, you have a very nice view from the upper floors (that's why it is called Hotel Panorama). There are better equipped hotels in Heviz with their own wellness bathes: Naturmed Carbona and Hotel Europa, though they also cost much more. Anyway to enjoy Heviz, and to explore its surroundings: lake Balaton and the nearby bathes: Zalakaros and Kehidakustyan, Hotel Panorama is a perfect choice. I have stayed here 2 times already and I will just stay there on this weekend.
13 emeletes épület. Classic szobát kérünk - a superior szebb - ami a tóra néz. Az ágyak kényelmesek. Tiszta, de ráférne a felújítás - festés, mázolás, szőnyegpadló csere. Ősztől tavaszig megyünk, akkor viszonylag csend és nyugalom van. A személyzet kedves, udvarias. Svédasztalos félpanziós csomagot választunk általában, délben levesbüfével. Jó a konyhájuk.
