I felt like I had been punched all over my body with the poor quality of mattress. Sleeping on a sun bed at the pool would have been better. The food in main dining room was not really that good not helped by the chef at breakfast being grumpy! The pool dining for Asian, Greek and Italian was however excellent. In the evening the entertainment was the worst I have ever seen. The leaflet given on arrival said Cretian evening once a week - that never happened and when I asked about it receptionist said that was last years leaflet! On Sunday evening no entertainment as they have a quiet day WHAT! The hotel was pretty much on its own and not in a village that you could go a walk in the evening instead so we had to buy a pack of cards and go to room. There was only one English Channel on the extremely old TV so couldn't even settle down on an evening and watch this. Also no kettle in room - you could get tea at bar but as our room was outside it would have been cold in the sea wind by the time we got there. Couldn't sit in reception and enjoy a cuppa at night as there are not enough seats to accommodate everyone who accumulate there so they could use the free wifi. I also left my feedback before leaving and this has been omitted from website. Would never go back and was glad to go home :(

Just back after a week at the Serita Beach hotel formally part of the Mitsis chain it does not live up to the Mitsis standard at all. Its 5 stars are based on the facilities not on the standard. Many people we spoke to staying at the hotel were under the impression that is was still part of the Mitsis chain, this is not the case as it has been sold to the QH Chain, but it still uses the Mitsis branding on all their tableware, paper work and towels ect ………… Let's start with the good points the bedrooms and communal areas are clean and kept to a high standard, and most of the staff are polite and work hard. There is only bar which is in based in the reception area with one bar tender Marina who works her socks off, but the queues to be can be long to get a drink, the area is sole less there is not enough seating and not even background music played at night. The dining room has two area points, near the salad /desert and main grill area were you cannot get buy it is narrow and impossible to queue for food. The food is ALWAYS at its best luck warm and even though we mentioned this to the restaurant manager TWICE, he looked shocked and seemed surprised, yet the waiters told us there is always complaints about the cold food. Indeed, one morning the eggs and bacon had been precooked than left in a large serving tray on a shelf until required and served up cold. There is no overhead lighting or hot water to keep the food ward. TRY AND BOOK A TABLE AT ONE OF THE 3 " SPECIALITY " RESTAURANTS - THE FOOD IS GREAT but the bookings can only be made between 10.00am 11.00am the day before it is like waiting in a doctors surgery to get an appointment as the queue can belong to get a booking. The drink is Ok, if you like your alcohol you will be disappointed the beer and some local sprits are drinkable, cocktails are awful as they are premade and the wine is poor. Water is not supplied you have to buy this. Beware the surfaces around the swimming pool this is very dangerous, very slippery The (hotel ) does put out “WET SURFACE SIGNS” but in the week we stayed we saw three falls all plaster cast victims! If you have a mobility problem the facilities are not suitable, no ramps for the reception area or for the main building The beach is handy being across the road from the hotel, we witnessed a family of three getting into difficulty in sea as it is rough however, the life guard did marvellous job in rescuing them, the is not only the lifeguard for the swimming pool but also for the beach he helps out in the crepe restaurants makes the ice creams and hands out the towels, so beware when swimming as we were told it had happened many time over the summer.

After reading several reviews about the Serita Beach hotel , I decided to experience the reality for myself ,so I booked a week's vacation at the beginning of October . Let's start with the good points , namely the staff - Marina in the bar , Anastasia and Kostas in the main dining room , Manos who toiled ALONE in the omelet and egg corner day after day , and ALL the staff in the speciality restaurants Alexanda, Dimos, Catharina , Yiannis , Garifalia to name a few , and let's not forget " the invisible's ", the gardeners , and room cleaners etc - I tip my hat to you all !! . TRY AND BOOK A TABLE AT ONE OF THE 3 " SPECIALITY " RESTAURANTS - THE FOOD IS GREAT , AND THE STAFF ARE AWESOME !! The (hotel ) problems were physical - so obvious to fix , yet the hotel management " overlooked" the obvious .WHY IS IT FOR YEARS , hotel guests have been complaining about the slippery surface near the swimming pools OVER , AND OVER AGAIN !! , SIMPLY PUTTING WET SURFACE SIGNS IN PROBLEM AREAS IS CHEAP , IT DOESN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM - ( at the star beach water park in Chersonissos , there are non slip tiles , WHY NOT AT THE SERITA BEACH ?!!!!, THEN THERE WAS THE ROOM - the children's part of the family bungalow ( room 523 ) had no a/c , had no drawers or cupboards - MY KIDS WERE LIVING OUT OF THEIR SUITCASES IN A PRESUMABLY 5 STAR HOTEL - WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON !!!! . 1 room key for 2 adults , 1 teenage child , and 1 younger child - EXCUSE ME ?!!!! No info pack for guests (in my room) , no pullout laundry line in the bathroom ( go ahead , dry your wet swim gear on the outside chairs -IF you are staying in a family bungalow ), and after 2 days my " 5 star mattress " was changed it was so uncomfortable - not that there was any difference in my quality of sleep after the change ,no mini kettle + selection of teas and coffees , no drinks ( even water ) in the room's mini bar - SERIOUSLY !!!!!!. IF you are a wheelchair bound guest , and you want to get to the swimming pool - good luck !!- there are NO ramps from the reception area of the main building to the noisy/activities (swimming ) pool , just 18 formidable steps to negotiate , unless you'd rather someone push you through the car park . The main children's ( swimming pool ) slide was only supervised 2 days while I was at the hotel The dinning room has two noticeable choke points , near the salad /desert " bar" , and in the top right corner , where Manos tirelessly works during breakfast - you can't fit two " robustly physical " people comfortably in those areas , yet both are " must visit "areas for the diner . Folk who like their serious alcohol are ALSO going to be disappointed , the local wine is fine , but cocktail drinkers might be a bit disappointed with what they drink I KNOW I'll get some tired , lame excuses , full of promises to do better by the time I visit the next time , but Serita Beach management , I worked in the hotel and catering trade for more than 25 years , so save your patronising symphony for other ( more gullible) guests , my patronage is heading elsewhere .

Me and my partner returned last week, couldn't fault a thing. Excellent service from marina from bar, kebab man on main restaurant and a big shout out to our friend SAKIS! The GOD of the pool bar , his knife skills were amazing . He made our holiday more enjoyable ...WORK WORK WORK !!! Julie and jay (Liverpool)

Came here last year and back again now. Last year was great and came back mainly because the staff and A La Carte Restaurant was so good. Same again this year. Staff are fantastic and friendly. Vaios and the team in the A La Carte are brilliant, as is the food. Vaios especially is destined for greater things than all inclusive resorts and runs the A La Carte perfectly. Our room is spacious and clean and there are several shops and bars within walking distance of the hotel.

Great hotel, staff very helpful , food ,something for everyone, and the Restaurants were great. I really do not know where these bad reports come from. We had our golden wedding and there was champagne and fruit in our room. Which was lovely had a free masssage with fioela and I paid for a longer one fabulous .i would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone spotless . We stayed from 6th oct for 1week in a bungalow 405 great views of the ocean

we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at our holiday destination and our week here didn't disappoint the hotel was superb the staff were so welcoming and the food was really good and the animation team worked so hard they were awesoome with their evening entertainment only 1 small complaint was that we were "all inclusive" and the spirits(vodka and gin)didnt taste good and there was no chojce to be able to pay for a better quality

I long weekend break spent at the Serita Beach Hotel left us disappointed. Whilst accepting it is a Greek hotel, the basic provision in all areas was a let down. The room lacked hot water on the first day, a plug in the basin and the 'satellite' TV may have been available but on a 12 inch 20 year old TV? Sunbeds were plentiful but staff in the crêperie seemed bored and whilst the barman tried very hard he was somewhat monotonous in his 'Del Boy' approach to each and every English guest. The main restaurant serves 'safe' food but even after the three day stay the repetitive nature of the food started to grind. There are two speciality restaurants (Italian & Asian) however the booking procedure is unhelpful and given the length of our stay the outlets were not tried. With a late departure (20.20) the receptionist rather begrudgingly arranged for a room to change in but as with most things a sense of boredom prevailed. Shame, as spacious and well located hotel could offer so much more.

Having read many reviews about the hotel Serita Beach on trip advisor, we were reasonably confident that the experience would be good. Unfortunately we are off to a bad start on day 1 of our weeks holiday. To be fair there are some positives about this hotel, in that most of the staff are polite, particularly those at reception. Also the lobby is clean, the sea views are great and the pool bar serving crepes is nice. Unfortunately our main problem is that we have booked what we expected to be a two room space, enough for our 2 year old to sleep without disturbance, but have actually been given a 3m by 5m room with 4 beds squashed in. It is so tight that the patio doors can only be opened by about 20cm, something that will be no doubt rectified by pushing all the beds together, with the bedside tables next to the patio door. This room is certainly not what we expected considering we paid for an upgrade from twin room to bungalow sleeping 4. The manager Maria is to give her credit doing the best she can to find a more suitable room, however it seems the hotel is rather busy at least this week. The breakfast, which needed a 5 minute queue at 9.30am this morning was almost inedible unfortunately. I felt sorry for the very busy and stressed staff who inevitably were quite snappy when we asked for a cup of coffee. We have been informed that the Asian restaurant is much better than the buffet so we are looking forward to trying that asap and will update this review. Overall we have not had a huge amount of time here so it may well improve over then next few days, however as it stands and with the awful sleep we are experiencing here I cannot recommend this hotel over the many other lovely hotels in the near area.

we have had a wonderful stay. we had a bungalow near the quiet pool and it was fantastic. our boys are 5 and 2 and the pools and play area were fantastic. the food was much nicer than some other all inclusive resorts we have stayed it and the option to eat in the other restaurants was a lovely touch as the food was that little but nicer. the staff all round are amazing and the entertainment was pretty good for the kids. very friendly all round. I would recommend rooms near the quiet pool. ours overlooked the beach. fab. if we went back to the same places that we loved we would definately go back. If you are just relaxing I would say 5 days is enough as there isn't much to do in the area. very tiny area to swim in the sea directly in front of the hotel but its not far to walk to a better spot. we did a train ride excursion for 13euro per adult that took us to the main village which the kids loved. the little reptile place is also something to visit. it's not huge so doesn't take more than a few hours to check out. star beach has a huge water park which is free to enter but the facilities at serita are pretty decent anyway so we didn't bother going in the end. we love early October in Crete. perfect for kids as the heat is just right to still have a swim and not burn and the adults can still tan comfortably. also, there r now lemons at the creperie whoohoo to pancakes alllllll day long and amazing ice cream. we loved it.
