Original Sokos Hotel Pasila

Stayed one night in Jokeri suite with two westies. Room/apartment was clean, spacious and well equipped. Specially enjoyed sauna and hot tub. Breakfast was also good. Location of the hotel was perfect with short distance to Helsingin jäähalli. Only thing we were missing was water bins for dogs.

Typical Sokos hotel: you have everything but nothing special. I had a double room for single use, it was large enough and cozy. There was king size bed, but with 2 narrow blankets. There was a coach and flat TV with hundred channels in every language. There was a minibar with crazy prices and kettle and iron. Bathroom was also spacious and with bathtube. Location is good: Pasila is only 1 stop by train from central station. There is tram stop on the front side and lot of supermarkets not far away. Parking fee is €15 for 24 hour outdoor and €20 for indoor parking. Breakfast was OK, but there was lot of people on the peak hour and it was quite hard to find a free table. There is also sauna and gym but I did not visit these places. Summary: good hotel following scandinavian high standards.

I stayed for businesstrip. Room was clean and on the bed were few candys waiting for my arrival with regards from the cleaner. Rooms are quite nice and bathroom starts to be in the condition for some small repairing in some time. Bathroom was clean.

SOkos hotel Pasila is Ok hotel to stay in busness trip. Rooms are quiet and clean. Reastaurants serve as expected. Personal are friendly and helpfull. Location is very good (Pasila Railway Station, FAir Centre etc.)

Its really reasonable hotel anyhow. Price its okay when i stay, wifi works well, breakfast its really nice, room its big enough, tram stop its just few meter of hotel less that 1 minuit. Crew its friendly, free computer downstairs you can also print there free, Basicly everything is fine i need recommend hotel.

Always nice place to stay the night. Compact size, friendly staff and good breakfast. Rooms are spacious, but bed couches could be bit wider :). Location is excellent if you are going to Hartwall Areena or Messukeskus. Tram stop by the hotel is very handy. Good connections everywhere.

Rooms are quite ok, but some of them are too warm and some of them are too cold. Also single rooms are too small. Restaurant needs improvement, menu should be changed more often and quality of food was not even (sometimes good, sometimes poor).

Very poor location. Dated. We were visiting the Messukeskus conference center and the Holiday Inn attached to Messukeskus was full. This was the only other option in the Pasila area so we booked this. When you are tired in the evening/night or just want to lay down for a rest during the day at the Messukeskus, this is too far. Normally, I guess there would be a tunnel to go under/bypass the railroad and go straight to the Messukeskus from this hotel and back. Now there is a huge construction site between the two as they are constructing new buildings to expand the Pasila railway station, add some shopping mall, and apartments. So the tunnel is blocked. You have to use a bridge further away, which makes the trip several times longer, and half of the bridge is also blocked due to construction. With the shape and state it was in, I expected the situation and construction to last at least until end of 2018. There is a tram stop right next to the hotel. So you can take that to Helsinki, and it also passes by the Messukeskus in the other direction. Buying tram tickets was just changed so you cannot buy on the tram any more, and hotel staff obviously was not aware as I asked. You can get a ticket using some mobile app or from a kiosk few hundred meters away. Seems overly complicated for a visitor now. There is an Alepa and K-Kauppa for groceries and snacks along with the kiosk few hundred meters away. Very few restaurants on this side of Pasila. You can still feed yourself if needed, of course. Hotel also has some restaurant but did not try beyond breakfast. Breakfast was your regular buffet breakfast. Quite fine but no special coffees there so forget about espressos and cappuchinos, if those are your thing. Rooms very dated, had a weird wire looping high from behind the room heater. It was attached to the wall so must have some function. Still never seen it in other hotels and definitely not the way it is supposed to be. Accidentally drop anything behind the cupboard and notice that space likely has not been cleaned ever, as the item you dropped will be covered in 1cm thick layer of dust. Try wearing that piece of clothing and imagine what else is there.. Put your hat on the hat shelf next to the room door and get only half as thick a layer of dust.. Besides cleaning, the staff was very friendly and nice. Especially the reception was always ready to answer all the questions with a smile. And they managed to pick pretty ladies to work there as well :). Overall, the staff seemed to have a good spirit with themselves as well. That was maybe the saving grace of this place, and why I did not rate it at 2. Helsinki area is not famous for great service but this was an exception for me. Price is not too bad, and breakfast included at least it is not very expensive. If you need to visit this part of Pasila then makes no sense to go elsewhere. Or if you need to visit Pasila in general and the Holiday Inn is fully booked. Then this is maybe the place for you, otherwise... check your options.

Though this hotel is away from the city center of Helsinki, it is just a train ride away so you can go to the city anytime. There are very few choices around the hotel in terms of food and stores. We ate lunch in a Chinese buffet near the hotel and the price and taste were both okay which maybe the reason why a lot of people were there. The food, the service, and the room were all good except that the lobby can become a little too crowded when a lot of people arrive together.

Everything was perfect, thanks. Room was comfortable. Breakfast exellent. My staying was only for one night but I`m deffenetly looking forward to come back some day when I need a hotel for good location in Helsinki.
