Original Sokos Hotel Pasila is a cosy hotel with excellent connections and furthermore, with excellent service. I've stayed in the hotel plenty of times, but during my last visit I just got reminded of what personal service is at its best. I had forgotten my hairbrush home, and as I had an eraly shower in the morning I realised there was nothing to brush my hair with. However, a call to the reception made my day: I was promised that a brush will be found and in a couple of minutes she knocked on the door and delivered the brush to me personally, didn't have to go down with wet, unbrushed hair. This really made my day :)
This is a Sokos chain hotel which quite well secures that everything works. In Pasila that is true as well, though everything is quite mediocre. The location is few kilometers from the city center. Now, close to one of the biggest construction sites ever in Finland. Still that didn’t bother nor cause much disturbance. The room was clean and basically ok, but no thrills anywhere. Bed and bathroom followed the suit. Complimentary breakfast was again ok. This all would have been just alright, as a basic overnighting in a basic chain hotel, but paying over 200 euros for a night was too much to make it good value.
We were staying one night at the hotel. It is nearby railway station and Hartwall arena so You do not necessarily need taxi to go to these places. It was nice that we could buy a hamburger at 22.30 at the hotels restaurant when we were back from concert.
Stayed in S hotel Pasila for one night for a concert. Used the bar in the evening, pretty crowded. The room was basic and in need of renovation. A good location, but hotel is getting out of date soon..
good breakfast and really nice receptionists, smiling and polite girls ;) room was nice and bed was comfortable. overall an very pleasant stay, good food even though some of the waiters where not enjoying their work :(
Thanks, our room was really nice (nicer than what it looked on pictures on your web pages). We came because of location, which was perfect for us to go watch a gig on nearby Hartwall Areena. Our children enjoyed the playroom. We didn't know beforehand that you had a playroom (we didn't find that information from the web) and we almost chose another hotel because of that...but we had good luck, thanks.
Normally this is no problem for me, but when the dog-barking starts at 05:00 in the morning, the sleepquality drops. To share elevator with 3 stressed Rotweiler-dogs is not nice at all. Breakfast was OK Service at Reception was good.
Very spacious and clean rooms, appropriate bathroom with good water pressure all the time, quiet rooms, limited breakfast (no good bread and fresh fruit juice), average restaurant for dinner, good location for attendees of shows or conferences in convention center.
A nice, basic level hotel that is clean and comfortable, and very well priced. A couple of things, however: the minibar chocolate was licorice chocolate and the chips were vinegar. I hated both, and couldn't eat them, but I still had to pay for them, of course. Plain, please! Also, it would pay to have clear information on the public transport in the area in the hotel.
We looked for a place near the Hartwall Arena due the Queen+Adam Lambert concert. Sokos Hotel Pasila were on walking distance from Hartwall Arena and, thus, easy to access before and after the concert. We deciced to come to concert by train, which comes quite near the hotel. We did not know about the Pasila railway station building process (old station was completely taken down and constructions were going on - and will be going on for at least two years still). This affected the sleeping quality because on the Monday morning constructions were started early in the morning (before 7 A.M.). Breakfast was good and included several choices. We arrived on Sunday and there were no restaurants open in the neighbourhood, not even the Sevilla restaurant in the hotel, but, due to this concert, the hotel had arranged its own buffet.
