I stayed there for about a week, while attending a convention is the convention center a few blocks away (it will get to be a shorter walk once the Pasila station demolish/rebuild is complete). I didn't spend much time in the hotel, since I was at the meeting much of the time. The room was perfectly comfortable, the WiFi worked well and was convenient, the (included) breakfast was fine. The area has only a very limited number of restaurants outside the hotel that are open evenings. But transportation options to other areas in the city are very good, so, a short tram / bus / train ride away there are significantly more choices.
Tiny tiny room with no air conditioning -- and a heated towel rack that couldn't be turned off. Several nights I woke up bathed in sweat, in spite of the desk fan they lent me. The window opened a couple of inches but I couldn't leave it that way overnight because of the tram line directly below. Tiny bathroom; shower tended to soak everything until I got a second bath towel and used it to make a sort of dam. On the plus side, an amazing breakfast with lactose-free options. The front desk staff were friendly.
I had a little trouble finding the hotel, but mostly due to my bad sense of direction. Apart from that, a very good place to sleep and have breakfast. Location will be better when they finish rebuilding Pasila Station.
Stayed for two nights. Was kept awake much of the first night by a low whistling noise coming from somewhere (pipes? ventilation? I'm no engineer). Pointed this out to the staff, who apparently confirmed the problem, but decided all they would do about it was shrug and say sorry at checkout after two largely sleepless nights. I wasn't offered another room, wasn't offered a discount on the already expensive room, wasn't offered earplugs, wasn't even offered so much as an apology until I repeated my complaint. Location is excellent if you're going to the exhibition centre, room looks nice and breakfast is perfectly adequate (the inedible oatmeal aside), but if you want to actually sleep too, check in somewhere else.
Good family hotel! Playroom for kids. For parking you need to pay. Good connections to city center. Air conditioning could work better. Nice wide beds and bath tub. The personnel was helpful and in general the overall stay was good. I would recommend.
Little bit old-fashioned hotel but clean and comfort. Hotel staff was very friendly and our little one loved playground. Breakfast was excellent. In overall stay at home Pasila was good value for money.
My visit to Sokos hotel was during the nearby hobby convention. The suite was quite excellent place to calm down and rest. There were no noticeable problems with the trip and I hope to visit the premise in the future.
We travelled with two children, so it was nice, that the room was spacious, and the extra beds ready made, when we arrived late in the evening. Also got food ordered to our room which was nice. Only downside was that the toilet bowl was dirty, large poo stains visible. Glad there was a table fan in the room, since there was no adjustable air-con.
I had the chance to stay here during a medical convention. The hotel have all basic amenities and the breakfast was pretty good. It is located in a residential area in the vicinity of the Messukeskus convention center to where you can walk - 15 minutes - or take a train; there is a stop in front of the hotel. There are not many options for dinning near the hotel and the best option is to take a 20 minute train ride to downtown. Overall, it is a good option if you have business to do at the Messukeskus CC but for the tourist traveller.
The room service very good as well as the attention of the reception. The breakfast buffet is very good and enjoyable. Is close to the train station that connects with the airport. I fully recommend it
