GLO Hotel Helsinki Airport3.5 out of 5.0

This is a clean airport hotel. The room is OK, but there is now window. The bed was really comfortable with good, soft pillows. The bigger room gives so much space you can take in even two big luggages, the shower and wc are very tiny. The breakfast is out of the hotel in a cafe and very common. Pls, note there quite limited restaurant services in the evening.
We stayed in this hotel due to our late arrival at around 23:00. It was helpful to get directly to it from the airport, and to be very near from a supermarket in Terminal 2. I could not buy alcohol after 21:00 there. Our room was clean and modern, but small. We didn't need an electric reclining bed in our room. Breakfast was unique for me, and several aviation-related staff was there to have breakfast. Every 20-minute bus was useful to make a round trip between the airport and the center of Helsinki.
I was able to check in earlier than normal, which was great. Dropped my bags and took the airport bus to Helsinki. Wondered around for a several hours and got back to the hotel. Took a shower, change of clothes, etc, and checked out late that same day for my return flight to Bangkok with Finnair. Perfect!
Paid over 230e/night for two persons: just a coffee and a croissant for breakfast, because our flight was early, and even our alarm clock was EARLY, I woke up around 3.30am for different noises from a good sleep. My son did not mind or wake up as he would not when a band having a gig next door. Not worth it. But clean and comfy room, nice bed, accepts credit cards, nice service.
Stayed at this hotel before a morning flight. As many have said, the hotel is located inside the terminal, so the rooms are transit hotel -style small, windowless rooms suitable for a stopover or spending the night before an early flight. Rooms are small, especially the bathrooms, but mostly functional, clean and adequate for a short stay. Everything works, but the room is clearly for sleeping only. Sadly, even thought you can't hear the planes, there was some kind of infrequent rolling and vibrating noise that woke me up several times during the night. There was also some noise from the hotel corridors -better noise insulation would be nice. As I arrived late in the evening and left early in the morning, I didn't encounter many staff members, but the receptionist was friendly and professional. Although there is no ironing equipment in the room, the staff was quick to provide an iron and an ironing board to the room. You get a breakfast voucher that is valid for several restaurants or cafes at the airport, including the restaurant next to the hotel entrance.
We booked one of there Day rooms as we had a 13 hour layover. Receptionist nice. Hotel is inside airport terminal 2. We got to the room . It looked more like a large coffin then a room I guess it's ok for day only use . It still cost us 89 Euro for 8 hrs. No windows at all in the room. You would think if it's for a day only room they would provide toothpaste or moisturiser. It is good enough for Day use.
Very good location, if travelling early in the morning. Staff was very friendly and they have computer plus printer that are available for use. Breakfast was included and was very nice. Can really recommend this hotel.
So I arrived late in the evening, exhausted from a flight. The hotel is underground, so the rooms are small and do not have windows. The room was very cold so I phoned reception to ask how to turn it off. I was told that the thermostat could be turned to 'warm' but that I would need to wait. However, 45 minutes later the room was even colder - so cold I couldn't sleep even in pajamas. So I phoned reception and they appeared very quickly with a portable heater. Unfortunately there was no timer on it, so I ended up being woken because the room was now stifling hot! I was also told that you CANNOT switch the (freezing) airconditioning off because the room hasn't any windows and they have to 'change the air' - which makes sense, but in that case why doesn't the thermostat work? Then, at 4.30am - the machinery noise began. Loud, but not rhythmic. Mainly vibration which meant that earplugs were no help (I carry good quality earplugs for flying). I got less than 3 hours sleep before a really important client meeting - not acceptable at all. I did wonder whether the noise was confined to just my room, but when I went into the corridor, you could hear it everywhere. My manager was staying in an upgraded room and said he was woken by it too. The breakfast selection was ok - eggs, hot dog sausages, new potatoes, cereal, bread, coffee juice. Frankly this hotel is an absolute nightmare, and it was expensive too. Never again.
Had to stay at this hotel when I missed my connection flight. Great bonus of this hotel is that its located right in the airport, what is very comfy. But be aware that there are no windows in he room, as its underground. But thanks to that its very quiet. Room is small, but cute and very clean. Reception is professional, friendly and quick. Didnt had a chance to try the breakfast, as its available from 6am, while I had to leave at 5am. Vut with the voucher you can get a breakfast at the airport, but its very modest (croissant, simple coffee and juice), so if you have a chance better have a buffet breakfast in the cafe next to the hotel.
This hotel is perfect to over night sleeping in airport. It's situation is under airport and there are no windows in rooms. Rooms are quite small but very clean. Buffet breakfast was perfect. There was everything you need. In the morning there is more noise from airport and after six in the morning you may wake up to that.
