GLO Hotel Helsinki Airport3.5 out of 5.0

Hotel is very conveniently located below the terminal 2, but the rooms are very small and cold. Neighbours kept me awake all the night as you can hear all the voices from other rooms as well as corridors.
Clean and modern room. No windows. We were three persons so it was a bit small for us since there was an extra bed. Good locations as it was very close to the arrival area of the airport The breakfast buffet had very litle selections of food and also the breakfas area was not so inviting.
Having a hotel actually accessible and easily found within an airport terminal is always a good thing. Glo Hotel is probably not even a minute's walk from the terminal arrival doors. Down the escalators beside an Italian restaurant (which they use for their breakfast offerings). Check in was prompt and cordial. Not overly friendly but fine. Yes, it's like an underground bunker. No views of the runway here people! The standard room is tiny with a glass cubicle for a toilet and shower (if you want to hear your partner go to the bathroom very clearly, then this is for you!). The movable beds are a novel idea with controls for your feet and torso - but very hospitable like. The bed is comfortable when you are watching tv but once completely flat it feels a little bumpy with the seams for each movable part apparent. Pillow was extremely flat and without shape too. The main issue in the room (one that which has been brought up here a lot!) is the temperature control. It's not controllable. There is a control panel but you can do anything and it just goes back to what it was. Which, when we were there, was way too warm and interfered with our sleep a little bit. I know it's under airport control but I would be looking at this more closely if I was management. You do hear corridor noise but it's to be expected as an airport hotel. Free wifi worked well throughout.
Convenient situated directly in the airport close to car rental and more. Nice clean and quit rooms. Great bed which can be adjusted in every possible way. Rooms are not big but it's absolutely a hotel I will use again next time I have to stay over.
Great hotel in a great location. We stayed in room 407 which according to the floor plan on the door seemed to be one of the biggest rooms. It had a double bed and a sofa bed and enough room for a small family. Bathroom was fancy but small and that was all we needed for one night stay between flights. Location is perfect just under the arrival hall. Our flight was scheduled to leave in afternoon and we got a late checkout at 1pm for free. Breakfast is on the restaurant 5 metres from the entrance of the hotel and it was basic 4 star breakfast buffet. Be aware that there is no windows in the rooms as it's located underground.
yes this is inside the airport, literally 30 second walking from T2 departure and 2 minute walk from T1. cannot beat the commodity. I had a small room but this hotel is for layover, so room size is not so important. the room was cozy and had everything I needed it, was clean and quiet. definitely a good choice if you have an early flight or if u are stranded overnight.
I recently stayed one night at the GLO hotel inside the Helsinki airport. This was my first time at this hotel and I choose it because I had a very early flight and I was staying the previous days about an hour outside of Helsinki. the hotel is located actually right inside of Terminal 2 in the Helsinki airport. The entrance is downstairs next to the italian restaurant and was easy to find. It is a short walk from Terminal 1 and is totally connected via interior walks. Check-in was fast and efficient and I liked that I was able to pre-pay for my room so I could just sneak out early in the morning. The rooms are all on one floor inside the main hotel area, and down one of three corridors. There is key card controlled access after hours so the area is somewhat secure. The rooms themselves are TINY. Very small, but I knew that going in. But they are super modern, comfortable and have all of the basics for a short stay. I really enjoyed the adjustable bed, and it made it great for reading in bed. The TV was large (almost too big for the space) and had plenty of english TV channels. The bathroom was clean and modern and had everything you need. There is fast, free wifi in the rooms which was great as well. the only thing I couldn't find in the room was an in-room safe. the hotel itself doesn't have its own restaurant for dinner, but you can eat at any of the terminal restaurants that are open late. Two things to be aware of. First, there is no window in the room. I didn't care, but if you get claustrophobic, you should be aware. Second, I wouldn't say it is quiet inside. I could hear a lot of hallway noise and people in the room next to me. I still slept fine, but if you're a light sleeper, you should be aware. Overall, I really liked the GLO hotel and will stay here again if I need something at the airport for a SHORT stay.
I have given the Glo Kluuvi a 5-star rating on Trip Advisor and stay there regularly. Due to some miscommunication with the corporate travel agency I got booked into the Glo Hotel Airport, but expected it to be of the same standard as the Kluuvi (city center). I had a nasty shock. The hotel is located down two sets of escalators at Arrivals and the atmosphere is like an airport basement where you would expect to find Lost & Found, not a hotel. The rooms are tiny. Acceptable if all you want is some sleep before a very early morning flight, but don’t end up here for any other reason. There is no wardrobe in the room just some hangers by the door for jackets. The Glo Kluuvi has a wonderful, atmosphere restaurant. There is no restaurant here. The very basic ‘Cesar’s Little Italy’ airport café where breakfast was served was closed when I checked in. The hotel reception advised I go for dinner at the Hilton hotel. They did not warn me that this was quite a walk and most of it outside on a freezing March night as I left the hotel with no jacket. The Glo hotel Wi-Fi required an Access Code. Why is that necessary? There is a small gym with just one running machine, bike, treadmill and some other basic equipment. As 99% of guests are there to catch flights late at night or early morning the sounds throughout the night are travelers rolling their suit cases down the corridors. As a result I slept very badly, as there rooms are not well sound-proofed. Is this hotel really part of the same hotel chain that can boast of the Kluuvi being part of its group? The only positives are the friendly staff If the Glo hotel was an airline it would be like the Kluuvi being Business Class and the Glo Airport being Economy Class!
I spent one awful night in this hotel, paying 274 CAD for the horrible experience, basically a total waste of my money. This hotel is distinguished by everything that it is lacking: 1. No windows in the rooms 2. No temperature control 3. No ventilation (someone had jammed up the air duct going into my room) 4. Unbalanced fans for room air exhaust (which caused a loud whine/whistle which started a couple of hours into my night's sleep and ruined my sleep) 5. No space in the room for any kind of movement - the room was a tiny cell. 6. No refrigerator. (Normally a hotel in this price range offers a bar fridge in each room.) 7. No coffee or tea service available in the room. 8. No facecloths. 9. Minimal toiletries - one might expect this in a low-priced hotel or hostel, but at this price the toiletries supplied were way below standard. 10. No hangers for pants or skirts. I would never stay in this hotel again and would never recommend it to anyone else.
It is great that the hotel is inside the terminal building so when arriving late on a very cold evening I was glad not to have to go outside. It is not well signposted though, you'll find it just to the right of the exit from baggage reclaim at Terminal Two - or left if you're coming through that reclaim. It is seemingly on the basement level, with no windows to the rooms. A bit weird. The rooms are compact, or at least mine was, but perfectly functional. Bed very comfortable. It was very quiet but then again I did have a room at the far end of a corridor. Breakfast at the next-door cafe was poor quality but the voucher does allow some choice at other airport facilities. Very friendly staff.
