Welcome to Kavanagh Bay Resort, your peaceful Northwoods retreat just outside Hayward, Wisconsin! This 4-bedroom, 2-bath cabin is perfectly tucked in the woods, offering a true “up north” experience with all the modern comforts you need for a relaxing getaway.

Wake up to the sounds of nature, enjoy coffee on the deck overlooking the trees, then spend your day exploring the Chippewa Flowage — one of Wisconsin’s most famous lakes — or take a quiet paddle on Lady Lake, your own small private lake with calm waters just steps away.

After a day on the water or trails, unwind in the outdoor hot tub or rejuvenate in the indoor sauna. In the evening, gather around the fire pit, grill dinner, or take a short walk across the road to Sisko’s Bar & Restaurant for great food, drinks, and friendly local vibes.

During the winter months, guests are welcome to use the property’s paths and trails for cross-country skiing, hiking, or snowshoeing. Please note that these paths are not groomed or maintained in winter conditions. Guests can enjoy access to a dock on the property, just a short 3-minute walk from Kavanagh Bay Resort.

This host was amazing! The house was clean and exactly what we were looking for. The hot tub was warm and an awesome way to relax after a long day of snowmobiling. We definitely look forward to staying here again!!

Arrival was rough: the address listed on VRBO was wrong, leading us to the neighboring property to the north (which has two cabins) at 11pm. I walked into one before realizing it wasn't ours. The property manager was nice and called back, but didn't realize the address was wrong. He guided us by phone through spotty cell service to the correct house to the south (actual address 8696), which was hard to find in the dark due to a split driveway.There were only 4 towels for an 12-person property, no washcloths, and a broken coffee maker. We ended up buying our own washcloths.The hot tub, a main draw for booking, was too dirty to use. The trail to the lake is unmarked and hard to find.The property has potential, but the wrong address, mouse, dirty hot tub, broken coffee maker, and missing towels/washcloths made for a stressful, subpar stay.
