This Holiday Inn Express is the most run down Holiday Inn Express that I have ever stayed in. We had reservations so we stayed twice recently. The first time, the bathroom door would not close, the second time the door locks to the room were malfunctioning. On both occasions, they provide a desk but no light at the desk. The rooms were clean the staff was friendly, and the breakfast was just adequate for a Hol Inn Exp. In general, the hotel is not well maintained. There are signs posted which state that the hotel is under renovation. I think that the signs are an excuse. If the rooms are not up to standards, they should not be rented.
We needed an inexpensive place to stay for a sports competition. I had stayed at a Holiday Inn the month before at another location and was very pleased. This hotel was nice, but you could tell it was older. The staff was very nice and even helped us find parking when we arrived for a late check-in. The free breakfast was subpar and there were many items that were unavailable. Overall I would consider staying again, but it was just average.
The front desk staff, breakfast area, and room service employees are very friendly, and helpful, and go above and beyond at this hotel. The price is very reasonable compared to other parts of the country. The only negative, is they are in the middle of a remodel, and the pressure washing/painting crew outside sprinkled white paint specks due to wind on my vehicle...they should quarantine off parts of the parking lot while doing any given side on the building, imo.
We had to immediately get to Laurel, Mississippi due to my Father In Law being gravely ill and eventually passing away while we were there. Needing a hotel room quickly, we contacted the Holiday Inn Express in Laurel on our way and spoke with Brad, the GM. Brad could not have been any nicer and was so compassionate to our situation. We checked in late, about 3 am and was warmly greeted. Our room was big, it was clean, it was cozy. Beds were very comfortable, bathroom was very clean. Each day we were there, the maid service made sure our room was stocked with all towels, soap, etc. The breakfast was wonderful. Good and great selection. The lady in charge continually made sure it remained stocked. But what made this property wonderful??? Was the kind, caring, compassionate people that work there. Many of them knew of our situation, that my wife's Father was gravely ill just down the road at the hospital. They continually asked how he was doing and if there was anything at all we needed. And especially Brad, who is the GM. He is a true, kind human being. While there, my Father in Law passed away. I don't know if we will ever go to Laurel, Mississippi again. But if we do, there is no other place I would even consider staying. I HIGHLY recommend this property due to the cleanliness, the coziness and most importantly, due to the kind people that work there. Thank you Brad for making a very sad few days comfortable for us and for showing true compassion. Bob
We enjoyed it very much. room was clean. food was decent. coffee was great pool was nice. staff was excellent and the price was also very good. location was close lots of places to eat & shop and fuel was right there as you exited the hotel. very close to the interstate. easy on easy off! I would stay there again if I'm every going that way!
We were traveling and exhausted, with 2 exhausted kids. It was after midnight, and I made the reservation online. I didn't pay attention to the date/time , and accidentally made it for the next night. When we arrived she let us up to our room and said she would fix it later. The next morning she called and asked if we wanted to sleep in and gave me a late (very late) checkout. We were greeted in every aspect with kindness, from the front desk, the manager the next day, to the breakfast bar (which had a fantastic variety!) Excellent service!! Room was wonderful, clean and quiet. Better than some 5 Star I've stayed in. Highly recommend!
Overall I felt this hotel was average. We are platinum member, so we usually stay at IHG properties. We felt this one was not quite up to par with other IHG properties. The hotel could use some renovations and looks a little dated. This property seems to be managed by a company that does not hold the same morals as the IHG brand. We were not greeted with a smile and definitely not recognized as being platinum members. The rooms were clean but the stay was pretty average.
This hotel is absolutely gorgeous, and they are even renovating and improving it more. It's our all-time favorite hotel that we've stayed thus far. We travel extensively, both as a family, and just myself for business. We stay at this particular hotel several times a year and I highly doubt we will EVER change or try another hotel in the area. If something is perfect, why chance staying somewhere we may regret trying. IHG hotels are our go to hotels.
Overall the hotel was a good stay. The bathroom had several cracks in the wall and even though on the outside appeared to be newly renovated I think the inside still needs a little upkeep. The breakfast bar was average but well stocked. Bed was nice, comfortable and clean. My room was right by the elevators so it was a little noisy but that's just par for the course. Location was very good and I would stay here again.
Clean, spacious room and bathroom. Plenty of breakfast to choose from and friendly staff. Would stay here again, especially for the value. Close to Waffle House and Buffalo Wild Wings across the parking lot.
